Break Through Agile Transformation StagnationTasktop
Transformation to Agile at scale typically takes 1-3 years. There is a pattern of adoption that most companies go through that achieves initial gains, but tends to stagnate after the initial improvement. In order for true value delivery to significantly increase, a mindset shift that ties business strategy all the way down to the team level is required.
In this webinar, Tasktop VP of Industry Strategy, Betty Zakheim, and Net Objectives CEO, Al Shalloway, discuss the challenges causing Agile transformation stagnation and what must be done to solve them.

G3 Model – A Practical Lean Approach to Improve Technology Delivery in Banks
Mr. Philippe Guenet, Executive Delivery Manager, GFT
2008 was not only the bursting of the credit bubble, but also the explosion of the technical debt in banks. Years / decades of silo-organisations, growth based acquisition and IT legacy led to high cost of ownership and quasi paralysis when faced with high demand on technology resulting from Regulatory changes and Digitalisation. The adoption of Agile aimed to change this but it is slow coming. As a professional service organisation we often feel powerless, like most of our stakeholders, in driving better software delivery lifecycle. We have analysed the blockers step by step and established a new delivery model mixing Lean and Agile to overcome the constraints. In this talk we will review the typical patterns of IT waste and the practical solutions we experimented with to drive a more efficient delivery of technology – now in its 3rd generation (G3 model).
If the average developer alone uses an average of 14 different software platforms every single day, how many are in use throughout your entire organization? Teams that work in independent and uncoordinated workflows across people, process, and products, result in poorly defined roles, disconnected collaboration and poor visibility.
We firmly believe that mission critical tools should talk, connect and provide roll up visibility as a tech stack that build platform approach. Despite common misconceptions, achieving this is not as difficult as you may think.
In this webinar, we will highlight common misconceptions on what it means to integrate your tool stack.
- The total cost of ownership to build vs buy integrations
- Connecting technology 1:1 vs. building a platform
- What it means to have a modern tech stack
- The cost to maintain integrations
Removing the Friction Between Project and Portfolio Management and AgileCA Technologies
Portfolio management is where strategy meets execution, taking organizations from an aspirational strategy to realistic delivery while managing investments and work. For organizations with agile teams, there can be friction between the investment governance of their project portfolio and the adoption of Agile practices, stifling their ability to innovate. This session will examine the issues involved and discuss how connecting PPM and agile via CA PPM and CA Agile Central can alleviate this friction and empower organizations to innovate, prioritize investments and deliver rapidly.

Adherence to time, budget, and scope has been the gold standard measure of project success since the beginning of time. Most of the time we are super happy if we even get two of those! Now, as the digital world shifts from thinking in fixed-time period projects to ongoing product efforts with associated teams, markets, and horizons, adherence to time, budget, and scope has little do with the actual success of an initiative.
In this talk, Anne Steiner, VP of Product and Technology at Cprime, talks about the challenges and advantages companies and teams unlock when they apply product thinking over project thinking. We’ll explore topics like team formation, budgeting and planning, and reducing cycle times in order to fuel continuous product learning. You’ll be challenged to think beyond traditional project management norms and to elevate the delivery of value as the gold standard for success.

At Suez Environnement we took the opportunity of a new strategic project, to radically transform the way we conceive, build and deliver internet applications. We changed the way we build internet platforms using the Cloud. Agile metho¬dologies and Lean management were a big help. We learned that architecture is key for performance but also for organizing the work. We came to the realiza¬tion that traditional applications specifications are no longer needed in 2015. We learned ways to manage developers in a context where most of your IT is out¬sourced. A presentation by Frédéric Charles at the Lean IT Summit 2015
Agile practices continue to improve as organizations move forward with adoption and adaption. However, as they move forward, they often run into daunting challenges—coordinating projects with highly complex requirements and interdependencies; navigating highly political environments; and finding ways to fund, report, and integrate agile project work into existing organizational processes. Jamie Mades has found that the Lean Agile Portfolio bridges these gaps, applying lean product development flow principles to identify high-value initiatives and speed completion of work. It reduces risk and uncertainty using agile development practices to realize those initiatives. Jamie discusses how to break down silos across all areas, reduce the divide between agile practices and senior executive requirements, and improve collaboration. Using a $500M portfolio at a Fortune 100 company as an example, he reviews how they seamlessly integrated agile planning into the annual funding cycle and coordinated highly complex work across the organization. Join Jamie to learn where you need to drive changes and where you can adapt agile practices to meet organizational needs.

Feature development cycle at Dashlane - Agile en Seine 2021Agile En Seine
Présenté par Maron Guillaume, Dashlane en français
A return of experience of Dashlane implementation of the Software Development Life Cycle, centered on features.
To support the company's growth (+100% headcount in 1 year) and support the remote work, we have scaled our processes and created guidelines and tools to help teams be more efficient and deliver higher quality features. Each time a team develops a feature, it usually requires similar steps: defining the goal, scoping, get input from sales and marketing, specing, desining, technical and design reviews, estimation, planning, release dates communication, developing, testing, documentation, feature flipping, monitoring, retrospective, user's feedback review and so on.
The mindset: increasing autonomy by clarifying guidelines, and improving quality and efficiency by sharing knowledge and tools from one team to another. Creating a playbook, so all teams have the same processes, but can adapt to their needs.
We will discuss the challenges Dashlane faced while growing its team, what we tried and what are the guidelines we created for the different steps of the Development Cycle, and how it positively impacted our development predictability, quality, and speed.
Maron Guillaume, Co-Founder & VP Engineering, Dashlane
Guillaume met his co-founders while finishing his master's degree in Engineering at Ecole Centrale Paris. With Alexis Fogel, Jean Guillou and Bernard Liautaud, he started Dashlane a few months after graduating and grew the Engineering team from 2 to 100+ people. Guillaume wants to build a sustainable company based on strong human values and continuous learning. Passionate about software development, his main goal as VP-Engineering is to help the Engineering team to deliver high-quality software, at the right speed, within a safe and enjoyable working environment. He tries to achieve that through management, processes, and technology practices. Outside of work, Guillaume is a DIY'er and is often thinking about the next thing he will improve in the house, or build for his son (or his cat!).

Why Agile Fail. *Hint* -it's more than just processTasktop
Presented by Zubin Irani, CEO, cPrime & Scot Garrison, Director of Professional Services, Tasktop
A successful Agile transformation requires a combination of people, process and technology, but too often these aspects are treated separately. Agile Coaches insist on remaining tool agnostic, and the agile management software experts often do not know the Agile process. Organizations with successful Agile teams often fail to replicate this success when they attempt to scale these practices throughout the software delivery organization.
To succeed in transforming to Agile, organizations must replace this fragmented approach with one that connects the entire application lifecycle with tools that are tightly integrated and automated to support processes. Join us as we demonstrate how this unified approach allows companies to
speed delivery through real-time collaboration
increase visibility of project status and compliance with cross tool traceability and reporting
encourage the use of specialized tools that support practitioners’ process.

ING is a worldwide financial institution, based in the Netherlands. The IT department of the Netherlands manages a mix of off the shelf applications and in house built software. Traditionally development was governed by CMMi and IT Servicemanagement by ITIL processes. Three years ago the developers started working in Agile/Scrum teams, dropping CMMi. The next step was to involve Operations as well and transform to an DevOps organisation, striving for Continuous Delivery.
In a lot of Agile organisation ITIL is considered the evil soul sucking epiphany of bureaucracy. But is it really? If we look at the tasks you perform in the ITIL processes Incident management, Problem management and Change management, you will find that a lot of those you still need to perform in an Agile/Scrum way of work. And that there actually is a lot of value in making some rules on how we want to interact in these processes between teams. But we may call the task differently than we were used to in ITIL. And we may choose to use different tools to handle parts of the process. We call this adaptation of ITIL Agile ITSM.
This talk focuses on the adaptations we have made to our ITSM processes to accommodate the requirements of an Agile/Scrum way of work. Proving that there is still value in a lot of the things we used to do in ITIL And that there is no real conflict between Agile and ITIL.

With disruptive technology advances, software assets play an increasingly important role in creating competitive advantage through effectively managing business software assets.
As organizations leverage agile practices to deliver better customer value faster, they consistently fall into process traps that block success because agile labor cost accounting is misunderstood and misreported, impacting taxation, higher volatility in Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, and sometimes even dramatic, unnecessary staff cuts in an economy where talent retention is vital to innovation.
This session shares a practical playbook to avoid common pitfalls and gain awareness of what you can do to evolve accounting and reporting practices to leverage the financial advantage of agile and benefit from the significantly increased tax savings and bottomline benefits available with agile capitalization.
This session will unravel the pitfalls and benefits of agile capitalization and explain how to appropriately interpret and apply generally accepted accounting standard (GAAP SOP 98-1 and ASC 350-40) so your organization can increase its agile adoption to deliver more business value faster to customers.

If you work in tech, you probably have a love/hate relationship with project planning. We dislike it because to get it right, we need to accurately predict the future, a largely impossible task. On the other hand, we like it because it gives business leaders the "predictability" they long for in order to make sound decisions that drive business growth.
Some in the agile community have resisted the need for planning, while others have simply encouraged planning in shorter cycles. As the shift from project thinking to product thinking becomes mainstream, we need to reconsider the impact on planning.
Take a deep dive into planning and discusses how this changes for the better as we shift from project to product. We explore:
- The difference between project plans and product horizons
- Turning the Iron Triangle over: Time, Budget, Scope is still a "pick two"
- How to estimate in ranges
- Ways to create roadmaps and product horizons at the portfolio, product family, and product levels
- The reasons to steer the conversation from "When will you be done?" to "What are we investing in next?"
From Value Stream Management to Feature Stream Enablement
- The tech and tools don't matter (Use the in-place toolchain...Jira, Jenkins & Github...)
- The process and methodology that work best for you (Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, Waterfall...)
- Teams can finally see work with full transparency (full-stream, full-stack, full-flow...all tied to KPIs and OKRs)

For projects like building a power plant or a train tunnel, tough project managers are needed. But when it comes to developing digital or physical products, the role of a project manager has an increasingly difficult standing. During agile or digital transformations, new roles emerge to take over project management tasks. So, are project managers needed in these areas in the future?

DevOps provides the ability to increase time to market to an new level. The question is no longer if we need to speed up our delivery. The challenge is to find the right „pace“ for your product. Not every organization and every product needs to run at the speed of Netflix and Spotify, even if we’d like it to be like this. We need to adjust the organization, processes and tools appropriatly and to identify the real bottlenecks in the delivery pipeline continuously. And by the way, we need to justify our investment in the DevOps mission. Are we just automating the current processes or can we use this DevOps thing to really support our business? In this talk, I’d like to discuss with you how to find the right design for your delivery process and your organization to behave as a business enabler and how you can scale DevOps within your organization without loosing agility. Let’s explore how we can listen carefully to the unknown customer out there and to build software they really like in the speed of your business.

Agile Projects in Waterfall Surroundings - Challenges and Lessons LearnedQAware GmbH
PROFES 2017, Innsbruck (Austria), Keynote by Marcus Ciolkowski (Principal IT Consultant at QAware)
Abstract: Agile processes are becoming pervasive and are adopted by most software projects and companies. However, “agile process” describes a multitude of processes and methods, and it is commonly accepted that agile processes need to be adapted to context. Often, this context is dominated by waterfall-style processes and bureaucracies, although some of them may be disguised as agile. In this keynote presentation, Marcus Ciolkowski reports on experiences and lessons learned from agile projects in waterfall contexts. He highlights challenges from the viewpoint of a small or medium company that develops software for a customer, including challenges in contract formulation and future challenges with the Clouds of DevOps on the horizon.
How SAP Leonardo is empowering animal wellbeing (Leon / Harmen)Twan van den Broek
SAP Inside Track NL talk by Leon Moltzer/ Harmen Werkman
Next to supplying Water to end-customers, the European Bison (Wisent) is also one of the ‘biggest’ responsibilities of PWN. Besides being the 2nd biggest water company in the Netherlands they also maintain two National Parks including the animals living in it. This specific client case is inspired on a hackathon organized by PWN. One of the questions remained was how all data possibly generated from their National Park could be leveraged in SAP and how to analyze and transform it to actual value. This session shows how SAP Leonardo can enable a solution using IOT and UI5 to analyze and improve the wellbeing of the European Bisons.

Beyond OData introducing the xmla model for ui5 (Roland Bouwman)Twan van den Broek
SAP Inside Track talk by Roland Bouwman.
We developed a UI5 model (and bindings) that allows developers to build OLAP applications on XML/A providers (including but not limited to SAP/HANA). The model supports databinding so you can build rich, true OLAP ui5 clients. The XML/A model for UI5 is based on the open source Xmla4js library.
(We’re currently working to release our XML/A model for ui5 as open source shortly)
Blockchain technology is increasingly being considered for applications in business contexts due to its key properties. It is also very much hyped for its potential to transform existing industries and business models. In Part 1, we will introduce the key properties of blockchain, its limitations, the field and the relevance for SAP and enterprises in general. In Part 2, we will focus on one of the prominent suites available today and provide an demonstration of the POC we’ve developed.
No organization can thrive, or even survive, without innovation. In an environment of increasing competitive and market pressure cycles have to be faster which means innovation can no longer be centralized. It can´t be done exclusively from the top, by a few individuals or a dedicated department. When innovation has to be everyone’s job, it has to become a mindset and central part of an organizations DNA. That´s why building an innovation culture is key. One of the most important drivers of an innovation culture is diversity and inclusiveness. This presentation will discuss leadership techniques we can all apply to support continuous innovation while increasing employee engagement and customer loyalty.
The importance of applying SAP patches (Joris van de Vis)Twan van den Broek
Most of us apply the monthly patches for our Operating system (Macbooks, windows systems, etc). But what about the monthly security patches for our SAP systems?
Many SAP running organisations don't do this as regular as they should. Some topics I'd like to discuss with the audience are;
- Why don't they do that?
- What are the risks involved?
- How to improve things?
The SAP NL Run Live Truck, our vehicle to deliver SAP Cloud Platform prototypes in only 1 week.
Using rapid prototyping we start with an idea on Monday and deliver a working prototype on Friday.
