Step 1 –Blueprint / Topology • We choose VM Ware as software to virtualise, because: – It has a proven track in our business – It is mature today – It is well supported globally • Why not Xen (at the time being)? – Less in line with our functional requirements – Far weaker proven track in our business • Why not Microsoft’s Hyper-V? – No proven track – Requires us to pioneer => the opposite of our customers’ needs
