Paul met with the elders from the church in Ephesus in Miletus during his journey. He warned them that false teachers would arise from within the church to distort the truth. Paul emphasized preaching the word of God and shepherding the flock with humility, even through hardships. He declared himself innocent of any wrongdoing in teaching the people everything that God had revealed to him through the gospel.

James: Faith that Works: Faith without WorksStephen Palm
This sermon on James 2:14-26 deals with James' view of the cooperative role of faith and works. We will see that although Paul and James seem to be theologically at odds, that they are using the term "justification" differently. They both believe that we are saved by faith alone, but James wants us to see that a faith that never manifests itself in good works is dead faith, and not really faith at all.
The Feast of Trumpets, also known as Yom Teruah or Rosh Hashanah, commemorates the beginning of the fall harvest season and points prophetically to the rapture of the Church. It is the first of three fall feasts that also include Yom Kippur and Tabernacles. According to the document, the blowing of the trumpet on this feast represents the last trumpet call that will sound at Christ's return to catch up believers, as mentioned in 1 Thessalonians and 1 Corinthians. The final, extended trumpet blast also pictures this event. The feast marks the end of the church era and the beginning of God's direct involvement in world affairs during the coming Great Tribulation.

Felix kept Paul in custody for two years in Herod's palace. Ananias and Jewish elders brought charges against Paul before Felix, accusing him of sedition and profaning the temple. However, Paul denied the charges and noted he had done nothing wrong. Felix, who was familiar with Christianity, did not find Paul guilty but kept him imprisoned to please the Jews, hoping Paul would offer a bribe for his release.

James asks a question that has divided churches and denominations, “What does it profit if someone says they have faith but does not have works?” What is your answer? Is faith without works of any value? Can works without faith bring salvation? Should someone believe they are a Christian simply because they "accepted Christ" or were baptized?
This document provides an overview of the spring feasts in the Jewish calendar according to the Bible, including Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of First Fruits. It explains the symbolism and prophetic significance of each feast, particularly how they point to Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb of God and the first fruits of resurrection. Key events of Passover such as the selection and sacrifice of the lamb are compared to the last days of Jesus' life. The document also reviews the biblical instructions and traditions surrounding each feast.
Esther - lessons from the Queen of a vast realmMichael Scaman
'For such a time as this' is the most famous phrase in the Book of Esther.
The book of Esther follows Lamentations in the Jewish 'Psalms section' of the Tanach
While Lamentations laments how the princess has fallen in the dessert, the princess is raised up in Esther. Jeremiah's deep lament is followed by a story of providence and deliverance in Esther.
God blesses us so that we can be His channels of blessing to the world. Service, kindness, generosity, and creative problem solving are few ways we bless people around us.

After being released, he went on further missionary journeys before being imprisoned again in Rome and executed around 67 AD at age 61, likely being beheaded outside the city.
Paul arrived in Rome under guard and was allowed to live on his own while chained to a soldier. He spent two years preaching about Jesus to all who came to see him. Some were convinced but others did not believe. Paul quoted Isaiah, saying the Jews had become hardened and closed their eyes to the truth. He announced that God's salvation was now being offered to the Gentiles. After two years, Paul's imprisonment in Rome ended, but he continued preaching until being arrested again and executed by beheading outside Rome around age 61.

Paul was instrumental in converting the citizens of Ephesus to Christianity. Other important people such as Apollos, Priscilla and Aquila also played a significant role.
Ephesus (in Modern day Turkey) was a centre of travel, commerce and pilgrimage (Temple of Artemis - one of the seven wonders of ancient world) . It was second in importance and size only to Rome.

The Influence of Christianity in Ephesus had a significant impact on 'Asia' in those days.
The slides conclude with Jesus' impressions (judgments) of the believers in Ephesus after the time of Paul's preaching.

This document discusses the origins and characteristics of the Laodicean church in the context of Seventh-day Adventist theology. It references letters from 1845 that argue the Laodicean church emerges from the Philadelphia church and will be lukewarm, self-sufficient, and in need of nothing despite being wretched. The letters warn of a growing Laodicean influence among Sabbatarian Adventists that will oppose the message of the Advent Review publishing committee.

Paul traveled throughout regions preaching and exhorting disciples. He had an extended meeting with disciples in Greece, speaking to them until midnight about Jesus. A young man fell from a window but was revived by Paul. Paul then sailed to Assos, warning disciples in every city about impending trials. He reminded the Ephesian elders of his work among them and of the need for vigilance against false prophets. Paul commended the disciples to God and prayed with them before departing, as they wept at his farewell.
What two major effects did the preaching of the Gospel have? (1-7) Why does preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ and His resurrection offend many people, and engender persecution? Should opposition or persecution discourage us from fulfilling the great commission, “to make disciples”? What encouraged Paul to pray for the crippled man? (9) Why aren’t miracles such as the healing of the crippled man characteristic in today’s churches? What was the outcome of the crippled man’s healing? (11-18) Why was Paul stoned at Lystra? (19) How did Paul survive the stoning? (19-20) What does the stoning of Paul (19) remind you of? Did the persecution dampen Paul's zeal for preaching the gospel? (21-28) Why do you think this was so? Describe the Pauline strategy of evangelization and establishing local churches. Compare what you observe of Paul’s strategy with what characterizes most modern missions. Why do you think most mission boards and agencies do not follow the model found in Acts?
The document summarizes a passage from the book of Acts that describes Philip encountering an Ethiopian eunuch who was reading Scripture. It provides background on the eunuch and explains how the Holy Spirit orchestrated Philip's encounter with him. Philip explained the passage to the eunuch and the eunuch believed and was baptized, becoming the first Gentile convert to Christianity. The summary analyzes the eunuch's preparation and seeking of God as well as Philip's obedient response to follow the Spirit's leading.
Paul defended his faith before an angry Jewish crowd in Jerusalem after being accused of defiling the temple. He recounted his conversion experience on the road to Damascus when Jesus appeared to him and called him to preach to the Gentiles. When the crowd heard this, they rejected Paul's testimony and demanded he be killed. The Roman tribune then ordered Paul's examination by flogging to determine why the crowd was shouting against him. The document provides background information on Paul's subsequent trials before various authorities and parallels between Jesus' and Paul's sufferings. It also discusses the issue of Jewish Christians expecting Gentile believers to follow Jewish customs like circumcision.
The document discusses the authority of the Catholic Church and the Pope. It makes several key points:
1. It asserts that there is one true Church established by Christ, with St. Peter appointed as the head by Christ.
2. It explains that St. Peter and the Apostles could transfer their authority through the succession of bishops, which is how the Papacy retains authority today as St. Peter's successor.
3. It states that the Pope and Church are infallible when teaching on matters of faith and morals.
4. It concludes that Catholics must obey the teachings of the Church.
This document summarizes lessons that can be learned from Paul's life about being a church leader. It discusses that Paul lived out the gospel, preached the gospel publicly and from house to house, defended the gospel from false teachers, and pursued completing the task of testifying to the gospel with his life. It encourages pursuing personal holiness if wanting leaders who live, preach, defend and passionately pursue the gospel.
Lessons from Pauls Missionary Journeys Arturo Elizararras and Gordon Ferguson...Disciples Today
1) Paul strengthened the churches he planted on his first missionary journey by encouraging them to continue in the faith and reporting on God's deeds. This helped connect the churches.
2) On his second journey, Paul communicated decisions from Jerusalem's leaders to obey, showed respect for other churches' cultures, and kept contact between churches.
3) Paul appealed to common practices between churches and promoted equality, mutual commitment and blessings when churches connected through giving and receiving help. This glorified God.
Dr. Potana’s work on street children is well-researched, compassionate, and groundbreaking. He carefully ties in the problem of street children around the world, the compassionate acts already done by Christians, and urges them not to forget those already born who cannot ask for help.
The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive function. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.

A business may deal with both sales and purchases occasionally. They buy things from vendors and then sell them to their customers. Such dealings can be confusing at times. Because multiple clients may inquire about the same product at the same time, after purchasing those products, customers must be assigned to them. Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.

5. Acts 19:35-41
• “The city clerk quieted the crowd and said: "Men
of Ephesus…you ought to be quiet and not do
anything rash…39 If there is anything further you
want to bring up, it must be settled in a legal
assembly. 40 As it is, we are in danger of being
charged with rioting because of today's events. In
that case we would not be able to account for
this commotion, since there is no reason for it."
41 After he had said this, he dismissed the
assembly.”
6. Acts 20:1, Off To Macedonia
• Acts 20:1 When the uproar had ended, Paul
sent for the disciples and, after encouraging
them, said good-by and set out for
Macedonia.

• Acts 20:4-6 He was accompanied by Sopater son of Pyrrhus
from Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus from Thessalonica,
Gaius from Derbe, Timothy also, and Tychicus and
Trophimus from the province of Asia. 5 These men went on
ahead and waited for us at Troas. 6 But we sailed from
Philippi after the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and five days
later joined the others at Troas, where we stayed seven
days.
• Seems like Luke was separated vs.4, and now regroups vs.5
• Remember back in; Acts 18:18 Paul stayed on in Corinth
for some time. Then he left the brothers and sailed for
Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila….
11. Acts 20:7, Church
• . Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week, when we
were gathered together to break bread, Paul began
talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he
prolonged his message until midnight.

• . 1 Corinthians 16:2 On the first day of every week each
one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper,
so that no collections be made when I come.
• Hebrews 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling
together…
12. Acts 20:7,
The First Day Of The Week
• 1st NT use of “the first day of the week” was
Resurrection Sunday in Matthew 28:1, “Now
after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward
the first day of the week,…”
• That starts it and the church continues it.
13. Acts 20:7, The First Day Of The Week
• Acts 20:7 On the first day of the week….
• Some believe that they would have met on
Sat. night after sundown.
• Acts 20:7…Paul …kept on talking until
midnight.
• He possibly preached from sundown to
midnight!
• They probably awoke around sunrise.
15. Acts 20:8-10,
Bible Knowledge Commentary
• Bible Knowledge Commentary, on Acts 20:8-10, says,
“The presence of many lamps would contribute to a
soporific atmosphere because the lamps consumed
oxygen. Probably crowded conditions exacerbated the
condition.
• “A young man named Eutychus (lit., "fortunate")
proved to be true to his name. Luke, the physician,
affirmed that Eutychus was picked up dead after he
had fallen from a third-story window. It was normal for
the larger rooms to be on the top floor of a building
(see comments on Acts 1:13). After the manner of
Elijah and Elisha (1 Kings 17:21; 2 Kings 4:34-35), Paul
embraced Eutychus and the young man came alive.”

20. Acts 20:13-15,
• Acts 20:13-15 Evidently Paul remained in Troas longer
than he originally planned (v. 7). To compensate for the
delay he sent the rest of the party on ahead. The journey
across land from Troas to Assos is much shorter than by
sea. By this arrangement Paul was able to stay a bit longer
in Troas. They sailed from Assos to Mitylene... Chios...
Samos and Miletus. The voyage to the last three stops took
one day each.
21. Acts 20:14-16, Assos To Miletus
• Acts 20:14-16

century B.C. after Alexander the Great
defeated the Persians who controlled the city.
30. The theater benches are decorated with animal
legs and paws along the aisles. Nearby one of

the
Jews." Other evidences attest
to the presence of a Jewish population in Miletus
in the first century.

you in the presence of God and of
Christ Jesus, who is to judge the
living and the dead, and by His
appearing and His kingdom: 2
preach the word [κήρυξον verb imperative
aorist active] ; be ready in season and
out of season; reprove, rebuke,
exhort, with great patience and
instruction. 3 For the time will
come when they will not endure
sound doctrine; but wanting to
have their ears tickled, they will
accumulate for themselves
teachers in accordance to their
own desires, 4 and will turn away
their ears from the truth and will
turn aside to myths. 5 But you, be
sober in all things, endure
hardship, do the work of an
evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

• . Acts 20:26 "Therefore I testify
[his testimony is] to you this day, that I
