A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

FRIDAY NIGHT COMEDY
Steve Punt, Hugh Dennis and guests present
the week in news through stand-up and
sketches. Kiri Pritchard McLean airs her
grievance with the Daily mail’s outrageous
headline, Tudur Owen considers the future
for Wales, should Scotland gain
independence and broadcaster Peter Curran
discusses the early days of the internet with
Punt and Dennis. Basically this is a comedy
orientated radio show, presumptuously in
front of a live studio audience, where the
hosts and guests mock the recent news of
the world.

SPORTS REPORT
An edition of Sports Report on BBC Radio 5
live presented by Ian Payne on the 50th
anniversary of the programme. This involves
the host of the show (Ian Payne) talking
about world sport and the current goings on
involved with it. He mainly talks about
English football, with it being the countries
most popular form of sport. His voice is
quite posh, with this show broadcasting in
1998 where there seemed to be a huge array
of posh commentators and presenters over
more average speaking Englishmen.

BRUSSELS CENTRAL STATION
An explosion occurred at Brussels Central
Station in Brussels, Belgium, a senior
Belgian law enforcement official told ABC
News. This radio news show broadcasts
throughout the day, to bring the most
recent news about the Brussels terrorist
attack to the engaged listeners around the
whole of the USA (where abc is based). They
speak to concerned citizens and law
enforcement, to get up to date facts on this
horrific incident; as well as hear the
opinions of listeners phoning in, throughout
the day.
5. Research Analysis
• What common features do the researched products have?
None of them are similar, apart from the fact that they are talking on the radio. One of
them is a comedy show, one is a sports report and the other is a serious news incident
involving an act of terrorism. But that variety can be found on many a radio station,
they go from (for example) an entertaining celebrity interview and then cut too the
news headlines at 12 o’clock, where they talk about breaking news and at times,
sports.
• What aspects of the research will you include within your on work?
I want my product to include all aspects of my research, as I want it to go from a jovial
comedy/quiz show and then cut to a breaking news story in a mere matter of minutes,
which reports on the sports and the top headlines around the world. That contrast in
features makes for an interesting production; going from a jovial chat to a horrific
incident, never mind how bleak, entices listeners from all reaches of the world.
Therefore that’s why I want to include such a variety in forms of radio, as to not
disinterest the listeners and keep the “ratings” high, as real radio stations try to
achieve.
7. Category Demographic Content to appeal to this audience
Age Range
Primary: 30-50
Secondary: 50+
• It seems that the older generations tune into the radio,
far more often than younger people and that’s most
likely due to the technological advancements in the last
half century e.g. television, video games and mobile
phones. Therefore aiming my product at the slightly
older generations, is going to attract more of an interest.
Gender
Primary: Male
Secondary: Female
• Men generally over women, find sports related news
more interesting. However the breaking news headlines
and comedy skits are equally tuned into by both genders,
as most people are emotionally enticed by these,
whether that be through sadness or joy. Although the
sports report pushes males into the primary
demographic overall.
Psychographic
Primary: Type A
(Concerned about
Humanity)
• I have chosen this particular group because, they are
most likely to show an interest about what is going on in
the world around them. Therefore they will be the most
engaged group whilst listening to my production,
especially through the “breaking news” headline story.
Social Status
Primary: Middle Class
Secondary: Everyone
Else
• I feel that the radio, appeals more to the middle class
than to anyone else. Simply because they seem to show
more of an interest about the news of the world and
political debates, as they feel that the turn out is more
likely to affect them; with the higher classes being to
wealthy to care and the working class being less
educated on that particular area to show an interest.
• However that is just my belief on the matter, anyone can
show an interest, it just seems to me that the middle
class are more Intune.
