How does your media product
represent particular social
groups?
Our films represents the social group teenagers/school girls to have
many different undiscovered issues in their life which no one expect
them knows about. In the bulimia scene it represents that teenage
girls epically have very insecure feelings towards their bodies.
Therefore resulting in Bulimia to make them feel more confident,
which they do not share their issue with anyone else which represents
them of feeling alone and embraced about their issue. The pregnancy
scene shows the teenage girl feeling scared and again she is alone, it
shows that she is embarrassed and has to run and hide herself from
the rest of the world when she finds out the result, which represents
teenagers making mistakes in their lives. Our final scene shows
domestic violence between a young teenage couple, this challenges
the average stereotype of a schoolgirl as she lives with the boyfriend,
but her vulnerability to him and the fact she can not stick up for herself
in in front of him. Therefore our overall representation of teenage girls
show they have to act normal but most time in their life has serious
issues they feel like they have to face alone.
