age group of the main character which is 10-11 years
old, female, with a white, British ethnic origin

4. Representation of youth
I have chosen to represent my main character as different, and an
outcast, hence the title, 'Persona non Grata'.
This representation is neither negative or positive, however, is
potentially inspiring to acceptance within youth.
The construction of my character emphasises how different she
is to most other children her age, and allow us to compare her to
the 'norm'.
5. In many Hollywood films, young kids are represented as
troublesome, immature and hyperactive. Examples of this
include Cheaper by the Dozen, and Daddy Day Care.
I, however, wanted to represent youth in a different light,
showing maturity, complexity and their capability of
existentialism.
This representation may be relatable to many adults and
teenagers who are experiencing existential thoughts, as
well as experiencing them as a child.
6. To ensure other people understood my representation of young children,
I conducted a survey for my friends as part of my audience feedback.

All 10 of my survey participants recognised that my character was of
caucasian ethnicity. From this data and the previous data, I can conclude that
I have successfully represented the social group and age of my character. I
have not only represented this, but challenged the norms of her age group
and ethnicity, depicting my character in an unusual, quirky light.
