Happier than most workers
Small-company employees are satisfied with their jobs
but not their benefits packages
The 2014 Aflac WorkForces Report1
found that while 23% of employees at small companies are extremely
satisfied in their jobs, a higher percentage than those at large- or medium-sized companies, they aren’t as
satisfied with their benefits options as their colleagues at medium and large companies.
Small-company employees have higher job satisfaction, but they’re just as likely as their colleagues at
medium and large companies to look for a new job in the next year.
50%of small-company employees surveyed are extremely or very satisfied with
their benefits options compared to 59% at medium-sized companies and 60% at
large companies
While 51%of employees surveyed at small companies said their benefits packages
meet their family needs extremely or very well, the numbers are higher for employees
at medium-sized companies (61%) and at large companies (65%)
47%of small-company employees surveyed said improving their benefits
package is one thing their employers could do to keep them in their jobs –
a higher percentage than employers at medium and large companies
57%of small-company employees said they’re likely to accept a job with
slightly lower pay but better benefits options
The report found that only 18%of small companies made voluntary insurance
