President Droupadi Murmu has ex-

tragic road accident in Sawjian of Poonch
district of J&K. Murmu wished the speedy
recovery of those injured. Modi condoled
the loss of lives in a road accident in

With 8 MLAs breaking away as a group from Congress
to the BJP — that is two thirds of party strength —
they can’t be disqualified under anti-defection law.
These include Michael Lobo’s wife Delilah Lobo,
Rajesh Phaldesai, Kedar Naik, Sankalp Amonkar,
Aleixo Sequeira and Rudolf Fernandes.
Goa Congress splintered
in a similar fashion in
2019, when two thirds of
its assembly strength —
10 of 15 MLAs — de-
fected to the BJP, which
is why the party this year
made its candidates take
a loyalty vow in the pres-
ence of Rahul Gandhi.

Agri Minister LC Kataria claims
Lumpy is on decrease in State
Infected cows with lumps at Hingonia Guashala, Jaipur on Wednesday.
Mayor Munesh Gurjar at Hingonia Gaushala on Wednesday.
Bhilwara: In the coming days, the infection of Lumpy will be
less in the state. State Animal Husbandry and Agri Min Lalchand
Kataria has claimed this. Kataria stayed for some
time in the textile city Bhilwara while going from
Rajsamand to Jaipur. He said in 12 districts there
is absolutely no outbreak of Lumpy in the district.
The Agriculture Minister said that the fight with
Lumpy will have to be fought on the lines of
Coronavirus. Kataria claimed to win the battle
with Lumpy in the coming 20 days. He said the Govt will form
animal friends on the lines of Corona Warriors and the govt will
give 500 new ambulances in veterinary hospitals.
Jaipur: The speed of
Lumpy vaccination is quite
slow in the state. Till now,
only 9 lakh cows have
been vaccinated while the
target was to vaccinate 40
lakh cows in 2 months. In
this way, vaccines will be
available in 4 months but
32 districts of the state are
now in the grip of lumpy
virus. Talking about the
fixed target, on an average
65 to 70 thousand animals
should be vaccinated daily.
But the Animal Husbandry
Dept is able to vaccinate
only 30 to 35 thousand
cows daily. There is talk of
less availability of vaccines
from the state government.
But the sources of the
department claim that more
than 16 lakh vaccines are
available with the depart-
ment, but out of these, only
9 lakh vaccines have been
administered. According to
the livestock census 2019,
number of cows in state is
1.40 cr, of which only 9.14
lakh are vaccinated so far.

MODI TO MEET PUTIN
AT SCO SUMMIT BUT
DOUBTS OVER HIS
MEETING WITH XI
rime Minister Nar-
endra Modi is in Sa-
markand, Uzbeki-
stan, to attend the
Shanghai Coopera-
tion Organisation, world’s larg-
est regional body, summit. Rus-
sia, China, Iran, Turkey and
Pakistan are the other partici-
pants at the summit. Modi’s bi-
lateral meeting with Vladimir
Putin is already scheduled as
the two leaders want to make
bilateral ties stronger. They are
expected to discuss mutual food
security, energy and, especially,
Russian fertilizer sales to India.
It is the presence of China’s Xi
Jinping, however, which is gen-
erating curiosity about whether
he and Modi will meet one-on-
one after the disengagement by
the two sides from Gogra Hot-
Springs in Ladakh. There is no
word yet on a meeting between
the two leaders but the possibil-
ity is not being ruled out.
Interestingly, the SCO con-
stituents are mainly anti-US and
India’s presence would be keen-
ly watched. Its position will be
somewhat similar to that of Tur-
key which is also a member of
NATO but, unlike India, Turkey
is an open critic of the US.
P
t is virtually the
end of Congress
in Goa. Eight of
its 11 MLAs have
decided to cross
over to the BJP. Will the re-
maining three legislators
stay on or they are buying
time has to be seen. The split
has come months after an-
other attempt to break the
Congress was thwarted.
The BJP denies it is Opera-
tion Lotus at work but the
party has been ever ready to
strike at the Congress the
moment it raised its head in
the western state by luring
its MLAs. Before the 2022 as-
sembly election results were
announced the Congress se-
questered its candidates to
keep them beyond the reach
of poachers’ long arms. If the
eight legislators who
switched sides on Wednesday
were from among that pro-
tected lot, the Congress
should learn an important
lesson - that it can no longer
enjoy unflinching loyalty
from its party leaders and
workers.
The BJP has been trying to
finish off Congress in Goa. In
2019 it engineered defections
by 10 of 15 elected members
of Congress to decimate the
party
. The message to Con-
gress is that any candidate
winning on its ticket will be
won over by the BJP using all
possible means. The BJP
firmly denied any role in the
present defections but the
Congress is of the view that
BJP is playing the pied piper.
The eight Congress legisla-
tors cited Ghulam Nabi
Azad’s stinging letter to Sonia
Gandhi as reason for their
leaving a dying party
. Con-
gress chhodo, BJP jodo seems
to have been their catchword.
In the meantime Rahul Gan-
dhi can keep walking.

the most critical elements is
talented workforce. The tal-
ented workforce has to be ac-
quired first and then it has to
be well managed to ensure its
availability and continuous
optimum utilisation by the
industry
. The first step is ‘Tal-
ent acquisition’ which in-
volves everything needed
to recruit, interview, hire and
bring talent onboard, then
comes ‘Talent management’
which enables organizations
to rapidly align, develop, mo-
tivate, and maintain a high-
performance labour force and
includes ‘Talent retention’.
Talentmanagementiscrucial
for growth of industry and
service sectors which are two
most revenue generating
components in our economy
.
Talent management is the
full scope of Human Resource
(HR) processes to attract, on-
board, develop, motivate, and
retain high-performing em-
ployees. Digital disruptions
and a shifting workforce is
changingtalentmanagement,
especially amid the COVID-19
pandemic. There has been a
shift to remote work, and less
focus on where talent is lo-
cated and more on that is the
best fit for a certain job. What
the pandemic hasn’t changed
is that employees, wherever
they work, want to feel con-
nected and engaged.
Business and human capi-
tal management (HCM) prac-
tices have evolved signifi-
cantly from where they were
decades ago and the compa-
nies are reimagining perfor-
mance management to focus
on what employees can do to
increase their contributions
in the future. This means a
shift from managing perfor-
mance to enabling perfor-
mance. Talent management
is about delivering the right
experience at the right time
for every employee.
Challenges and Options.
Lack of pool of suitable can-
didates is perhaps the most
common employee recruit-
ment problem. Create an in-
ternal labour market that
facilitates the mobility of
employees from their cur-
rent roles to other existing or
newly created roles within
the organization.
Lack of understanding
and communication between
hiring managers and recruit-
ers seriously compromises
the employer’s ability to at-
tract top quality candidates.
Proactive communication is
the best option.
Poorly written job descrip-
tions lead to confusion and
companies lose out on top
quality talent. Use profes-
sional, clear job titles, and
avoid fancy adjectives, super-
latives or extreme modifiers.
While there is a rise in use
of technology for recruiting,
most recruiters do not fully
utilize the power of data to
enhance their decision mak-
ing capabilities. Need for re-
cruiters to be more data-sav-
vy
, and start tracking metrics
beyond the usual time to fill
or quality of hire.
A poor candidate experi-
ence hampers talent acquisi-
tion and results in wastage of
resources. Create a user
friendly career site that is
regularly updated with jobs,

People are the heart of a

talent, companies risk poor
culture and low customer sat-
isfaction. Employers today
face a more complex talent
management landscape than
ever before, and those that
manage talent well will have
a competitive edge over those
who do not. Happy employees
lead to happy customers and
deliver business results.
SHIFTS PERFORMANCE
MANAGEMENT
Traditional performance
management focuses on the
past and “monitoring” per-
formance. However, compa-
nies are starting to shift to-
ward performance enable-
ment, a forward-facing ap-
proach designed to empower
employees to drive their ca-
reer progression.
TRAINING AND
PERFORMANCE SUPPORT
Training, online learning,
and other tools enable work-
ers to reach their full poten-
tial, expand their skills and
capabilities, Learning includ-
ing virtual learning and tal-
ent mobility is especially
critical for companies that
close the skills gap in their
organizationsthroughreskill-
ing or up skilling.
ABOUT SUCCESSION
PLANNING
This ensures that the com-
pany has capable managers
and leaders moving up and
through the ranks. Succes-
sion planning lets users iden-
tify critical roles for succes-
sion, nominate internal and
external candidates, assess
readiness, target develop-
ment needs, and create suc-
cession pools and plans.
CRITICAL SKILLS AND
GAP ANALYSIS
Organizations are going
through a transformation,
particularly in the area of
digitalskillsthatareessential
to become more agile. By as-
sessing the skills of the work-
force today
, and the projected
skills and capabilities needed
in the future, companies can
better plan for and prepare a
workforce that fills the gaps
and positions needed by the
company to take full advan-
tage of all opportunities.
A COMPETITIVE
DIFFERENTIATOR

focus is on: “internal fit”,

the two are linked to the busi-

New Delhi: When the
Congress’ ‘Bharat Jodo
Yatra’ started, the party
has been advised that
there is a need to take
out the Congress Jodo
Yatra first. The BJP al-
ways highlights that
there is no unity in the
Congress and the party
is badly divided. Now
the Congress is trying
its bet on the BJP as
Congress leaders are
sending invitations to
BJP leaders who have
been removed from
their posts or marginal-
ized in politics. Not
only this, a Congress
leader also sent an invi-
tation to a big leader
like Nitin Gadkari.
Keep in mind, Gadkari
was removed from the
parliamentary board of
BJP recently. He is a
minister in the central
government but as a
former national presi-
dent, he was a member
of the BJP parliamen-
tary board. Recently,
when the board was re-
constituted, he was re-
moved and thereafter,
he has been making
such statements, which
sends out the message
that he is angry
.
Whether he is angry
or disappointed, the
Congress has begun to
highlight his ‘perceived
displeasure’ as part of
the strategy
. Maharash-
tra State Congress Pres-
ident Nana Patole has
invited Gadkari to join
the Congress. Keep in
mind that Patole is a big
OBC leader of Vidarbha
region and he had con-
tested the last Lok Sab-
ha elections against
Gadkari from Nagpur
seat. He also knows that
in the past, Gadkari said
that even in the early
days of his politics,
when he was asked to
join the Congress, he
usedtosaythathewould
jump in the well but
would not go to the Con-
gress. Despite this, Pa-
tole invited him to join
the Congress. Similarly

formerMadhyaPradesh
Chief Minister Kamal
Nath invited BJP leader
Uma Bharti to join Con-
gress’s Bharat Jodo
Yatra, which Uma Bhar-
ti rejected. However,
everyone knows that
she does not have good
relations with the BJP
high command and the
state leadership.

India’s WPI inflation eases
to 11-month low at 12.41%
New Delhi (PTI): The
wholesale price-based in-
flation eased to 11-month
low of 12.41% in August, on
softening in prices of man-
ufactured and fuel prod-
ucts, even as food items
remained expensive.
Although the Wholesale
Price Index (WPI) based
inflation declined for three
consecutive months, it re-
mained in double digit for
17th months beginning
April last year. The infla-
tion was 13.39% in July
and 11.64% in August last
year. It had touched a re-
cord high of 15.88% in May
this year.
The inflation was lower
than August print in Sep-
tember last year when it
was 11.8%.
Inflation in food articles
in August rose to 12.37%, as
against 10.77% in July, on
account of costlier cereals,
fruits and vegetables.
The rate of price rise in
vegetables was 22.29% dur-
ing the month under re-
view, while in case of po-
tato it was 43.56%. Inflation
in cereals was 1.77%, while
in wheat and fruits
it was 17.35% and 31.75%
respectively
.
In the fuel and power
basket, inflation was
33.67% in August, as
against 43.75% in July. In
manufactured products
and oil seeds, it was 7.51%
and (-) 13.48%, respectively
.
The RBI mainly looks at
retail inflation to frame its
monetary policy
.
Retail inflation has re-
mained above the Reserve
Bank’s upper tolerance
threshold of 6% for the
eighth month in a row and
was at 7% in August.
To tame stubbornly high
inflation, the RBI has hiked
the key interest rate three
times this year to 5.40%.
According to the central
bank’s projections, retail
inflation is likely to aver-
age 6.7% in 2022-23.
HIGHLIGHTING
FACTORS
 Although the Wholesale
Price Index (WPI) based
inflation declined for three
consecutive months, it
remained in double digit for

last year
 The inflation was 13.39%
in July and 11.64% in August

RBI could raise rates
by 35-50 bps: Analysts
Mumbai (PTI): With the
price index surprising on
the upside in August,
many analysts have pen-
cilled in a higher inflation
print in September as well
and accordingly expect the
central bank to frontload
policy rate hikes, deliver-
ing another 35 bps later
this month.
Confounding the worries
on the inflation front, retail
inflation accelerated to 7%
on-year in August from
6.7% in the previous month
— staying above the upper
tolerance limit of the cen-
tral bank for all the eight
months of 2022.
According to Tanvee
Gupta-Jain, the India chief
economist at the Swiss bro-
kerage UBS Securities, con-
sidering the base effect, in-
flation print for September
is also likely to remain ele-
vated around the August
levels before moderating
meaningfully from October
onwards. This will have the
RBI-led monetary policy
committee front-loading
the tightening cycle and de-
liver another 35 bps in the
September 30 policy review.
In a note, Rahul Bajoria,
the chief economist at Bar-
clays Securities India, said
elevated inflation on both
the retail and wholesale
fronts suggests the need for
the RBI’s monetary policy
committee to maintain vig-
ilance over evolving price
trends and accordingly he
expects the MPC to front-
load rate hikes, and deliver
another 50 bps rate hike on
September 30.
In a note, Morgan Stan-
ley said they expect a 35-
bps rate hike as they ex-
pect CPI inflation to re-
main around 5.3% in FY24.

Mumbai (PTI): The rupee declined by 35 paise to close at 79.52

it rose by 78 paise. The dollar
bided well after the rate market
started pricing a full percent-

Jaipur: Actor
Swara Bhasker,
who reached Jaipur
for the promotion of
the film ‘Jahan
Chaar Yaar’, reacted
to the issue of T-
shirt worn by Con-
gress leader Rahul
Gandhi. “I do not
wanttosayanything
about the choice of
clothesof thepeople.
Talking about
clothes, there are
more people in this
country who have
worn clothes worth
lakhs. I do not think
that those whose
own houses made of
glass should throw
stones at the houses
of others. The inten-
tion should be good.
Our leaders have
good intentions, I
have no problem
whether they wear
dhoti suits, boots,
slippers or anything
else. Doesn’t matter,
but they should
work,” she said.
Routes of private
buses will be made
available online

State Animal Husbandry and Agri Min Lalchand Kataria has claimed this. Kataria stayed for some time in the textile city Bhilwara while going from Rajsamand to Jaipur. He said the Govt will form animal friends on the lines of Corona Warriors and the govt will give 500 new ambulances in veterinary hospitals. Jaipur: The speed of Lumpy vaccination is quite slow in the state. Till now, only 9 lakh cows have been vaccinated while the target was to vaccinate 40 lakh cows in 2 months. In this way, vaccines will be available in 4 months but 32 districts of the state are now in the grip of lumpy virus. Talking about the fixed target, on an average 65 to 70 thousand animals should be vaccinated daily. But the Animal Husbandry Dept is able to vaccinate only 30 to 35 thousand cows daily. There is talk of less availability of vaccines from the state government. But the sources of the department claim that more than 16 lakh vaccines are available with the depart- ment, but out of these, only 9 lakh vaccines have been administered. TOP TWEETS MODI TO MEET PUTIN AT SCO SUMMIT BUT DOUBTS OVER HIS MEETING WITH XI rime Minister Nar- endra Modi is in Sa- markand, Uzbeki- stan, to attend the Shanghai Coopera- tion Organisation, world’s larg- est regional body, summit. Rus- sia, China, Iran, Turkey and Pakistan are the other partici- pants at the summit. Modi’s bi- lateral meeting with Vladimir Putin is already scheduled as the two leaders want to make bilateral ties stronger. They are expected to discuss mutual food security, energy and, especially, Russian fertilizer sales to India. It is the presence of China’s Xi Jinping, however, which is gen- erating curiosity about whether he and Modi will meet one-on- one after the disengagement by the two sides from Gogra Hot- Springs in Ladakh. There is no word yet on a meeting between the two leaders but the possibil- ity is not being ruled out. Interestingly, the SCO con- stituents are mainly anti-US and India’s presence would be keen- ly watched. Its position will be somewhat similar to that of Tur- key which is also a member of NATO but, unlike India, Turkey is an open critic of the US. P t is virtually the end of Congress in Goa. Eight of its 11 MLAs have decided to cross over to the BJP. Will the re- maining three legislators stay on or they are buying time has to be seen. The split has come months after an- other attempt to break the Congress was thwarted. The BJP denies it is Opera- tion Lotus at work but the party has been ever ready to strike at the Congress the moment it raised its head in the western state by luring its MLAs. Before the 2022 as- sembly election results were announced the Congress se- questered its candidates to keep them beyond the reach of poachers’ long arms. If the eight legislators who switched sides on Wednesday were from among that pro- tected lot, the Congress should learn an important lesson - that it can no longer enjoy unflinching loyalty from its party leaders and workers. The BJP has been trying to finish off Congress in Goa. In 2019 it engineered defections by 10 of 15 elected members of Congress to decimate the party . The message to Con- gress is that any candidate winning on its ticket will be won over by the BJP using all possible means. The BJP firmly denied any role in the present defections but the Congress is of the view that BJP is playing the pied piper. The eight Congress legisla- tors cited Ghulam Nabi Azad’s stinging letter to Sonia Gandhi as reason for their leaving a dying party . Con- gress chhodo, BJP jodo seems to have been their catchword. In the meantime Rahul Gan- dhi can keep walking. STAR-CROSSED CONG TAKES A HIT IN GOA The BJP has been trying to finish off Congress in Goa. In 2019 it engineered defections by 10 of 15 elected members of Congress to decimate the party. The message to Congress is that any candidate winning on its ticket will be won over by the BJP using all possible means I Promoted by Suvasa Apparel and Furnishing Pvt. Ltd. oday for any industry to grow andachieveexcellence, oneof the most critical elements is talented workforce. The tal- ented workforce has to be ac- quired first and then it has to be well managed to ensure its availability and continuous optimum utilisation by the industry . The first step is ‘Tal- ent acquisition’ which in- volves everything needed to recruit, interview, hire and bring talent onboard, then comes ‘Talent management’ which enables organizations to rapidly align, develop, mo- tivate, and maintain a high- performance labour force and includes ‘Talent retention’. Talentmanagementiscrucial for growth of industry and service sectors which are two most revenue generating components in our economy . Talent management is the full scope of Human Resource (HR) processes to attract, on- board, develop, motivate, and retain high-performing em- ployees. Digital disruptions and a shifting workforce is changingtalentmanagement, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic. There has been a shift to remote work, and less focus on where talent is lo- cated and more on that is the best fit for a certain job. What the pandemic hasn’t changed is that employees, wherever they work, want to feel con- nected and engaged. Business and human capi- tal management (HCM) prac- tices have evolved signifi- cantly from where they were decades ago and the compa- nies are reimagining perfor- mance management to focus on what employees can do to increase their contributions in the future. This means a shift from managing perfor- mance to enabling perfor- mance. Talent management is about delivering the right experience at the right time for every employee. Challenges and Options. Lack of pool of suitable can- didates is perhaps the most common employee recruit- ment problem. Create an in- ternal labour market that facilitates the mobility of employees from their cur- rent roles to other existing or newly created roles within the organization. Lack of understanding and communication between hiring managers and recruit- ers seriously compromises the employer’s ability to at- tract top quality candidates. Proactive communication is the best option. Poorly written job descrip- tions lead to confusion and companies lose out on top quality talent. Use profes- sional, clear job titles, and avoid fancy adjectives, super- latives or extreme modifiers. While there is a rise in use of technology for recruiting, most recruiters do not fully utilize the power of data to enhance their decision mak- ing capabilities. Need for re- cruiters to be more data-sav- vy , and start tracking metrics beyond the usual time to fill or quality of hire. A poor candidate experi- ence hampers talent acquisi- tion and results in wastage of resources. Create a user friendly career site that is regularly updated with jobs, clearjobdescriptions,andcre- ate a well-defined application flowandacontinuouscommu- nicationplantokeepallstake- holders well informed. People are the heart of a company, without the right talent, companies risk poor culture and low customer sat- isfaction. Employers today face a more complex talent management landscape than ever before, and those that manage talent well will have a competitive edge over those who do not. Happy employees lead to happy customers and deliver business results. SHIFTS PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT Traditional performance management focuses on the past and “monitoring” per- formance. However, compa- nies are starting to shift to- ward performance enable- ment, a forward-facing ap- proach designed to empower employees to drive their ca- reer progression. TRAINING AND PERFORMANCE SUPPORT Training, online learning, and other tools enable work- ers to reach their full poten- tial, expand their skills and capabilities, Learning includ- ing virtual learning and tal- ent mobility is especially critical for companies that close the skills gap in their organizationsthroughreskill- ing or up skilling. ABOUT SUCCESSION PLANNING This ensures that the com- pany has capable managers and leaders moving up and through the ranks. Succes- sion planning lets users iden- tify critical roles for succes- sion, nominate internal and external candidates, assess readiness, target develop- ment needs, and create suc- cession pools and plans. CRITICAL SKILLS AND GAP ANALYSIS Organizations are going through a transformation, particularly in the area of digitalskillsthatareessential to become more agile. By as- sessing the skills of the work- force today , and the projected skills and capabilities needed in the future, companies can better plan for and prepare a workforce that fills the gaps and positions needed by the company to take full advan- tage of all opportunities. A COMPETITIVE DIFFERENTIATOR An agile, people-first talent management strategy enables peopletobeattheirbestselves, andensuresavailabilityof the talent and skills industry needs to address current envi- ronmentalchallenges.Increas- ingly , talent management is a bigdifferentiatorinacompeti- tive global economy . Today the focus is on: “internal fit”, aligned with “cultural fit” and the two are linked to the busi- ness strategy and long-term goals of the organization i.e., “strategic fit”. Getting the right people in pivotal roles at the right time should be noth- ing new to HR professionals, but done effectively , talent management can create long term organizational success.. The BJP al- ways highlights that there is no unity in the Congress and the party is badly divided. Now the Congress is trying its bet on the BJP as Congress leaders are sending invitations to BJP leaders who have been removed from their posts or marginal- ized in politics. Not only this, a Congress leader also sent an invi- tation to a big leader like Nitin Gadkari. Keep in mind, Gadkari was removed from the parliamentary board of BJP recently. He is a minister in the central government but as a former national presi- dent, he was a member of the BJP parliamen- tary board. Recently, when the board was re- constituted, he was re- moved and thereafter, he has been making such statements, which sends out the message that he is angry . Whether he is angry or disappointed, the Congress has begun to highlight his ‘perceived displeasure’ as part of the strategy . Maharash- tra State Congress Pres- ident Nana Patole has invited Gadkari to join the Congress. Keep in mind that Patole is a big OBC leader of Vidarbha region and he had con- tested the last Lok Sab- ha elections against Gadkari from Nagpur seat. He also knows that in the past, Gadkari said that even in the early days of his politics, when he was asked to join the Congress, he usedtosaythathewould jump in the well but would not go to the Con- gress. Despite this, Pa- tole invited him to join the Congress. Similarly , formerMadhyaPradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath invited BJP leader Uma Bharti to join Con- gress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, which Uma Bhar- ti rejected. Although the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation declined for three consecutive months, it re- mained in double digit for 17th months beginning April last year. The infla- tion was 13.39% in July and 11.64% in August last year. It had touched a re- cord high of 15.88% in May this year. The inflation was lower than August print in Sep- tember last year when it was 11.8%. Inflation in food articles in August rose to 12.37%, as against 10.77% in July, on account of costlier cereals, fruits and vegetables. The rate of price rise in vegetables was 22.29% dur- ing the month under re- view, while in case of po- tato it was 43.56%. Inflation in cereals was 1.77%, while in wheat and fruits it was 17.35% and 31.75% respectively . In the fuel and power basket, inflation was 33.67% in August, as against 43.75% in July. It had touched a record high of 15.88% in May this year  Inflation in food articles in August rose to 12.37% on account of costlier cereals, fruits and vegetables RBI could raise rates by 35-50 bps: Analysts Mumbai (PTI): With the price index surprising on the upside in August, many analysts have pen- cilled in a higher inflation print in September as well and accordingly expect the central bank to frontload policy rate hikes, deliver- ing another 35 bps later this month. Confounding the worries on the inflation front, retail inflation accelerated to 7% on-year in August from 6.7% in the previous month — staying above the upper tolerance limit of the cen- tral bank for all the eight months of 2022. According to Tanvee Gupta-Jain, the India chief economist at the Swiss bro- kerage UBS Securities, con- sidering the base effect, in- flation print for September is also likely to remain ele- vated around the August levels before moderating meaningfully from October onwards. This will have the RBI-led monetary policy committee front-loading the tightening cycle and de- liver another 35 bps in the September 30 policy review. In a note, Rahul Bajoria, the chief economist at Bar- clays Securities India, said elevated inflation on both the retail and wholesale fronts suggests the need for the RBI’s monetary policy committee to maintain vig- ilance over evolving price trends and accordingly he expects the MPC to front- load rate hikes, and deliver another 50 bps rate hike on September 30. In a note, Morgan Stan- ley said they expect a 35- bps rate hike as they ex- pect CPI inflation to re- main around 5.3% in FY24. Talking about clothes, there are more people in this country who have worn clothes worth lakhs. I do not think that those whose own houses made of glass should throw stones at the houses of others. The inten- tion should be good. Our leaders have good intentions, I have no problem whether they wear dhoti suits, boots, slippers or anything else. Doesn’t matter, but they should work,” she said.
