Monday stated that the re-

allowed keeping in mind
the good behaviour of the

of the affidavit was that
the remission had the ap-

Bilkis Bano was gan-

the 2002 Gujarat riots.
Seven members of her

the time and was only 21

The Supreme Court crit-

Gujarat lesson: Every sinner has a future
or the last one week, there
was a lot of political heart-
burn over the fact that
Sourav Ganguly would not
remain the BCCI presi-
dent post Oct 18, 2022.
Criticising the party at
the Centre, Trinamool
Congress raised the issues
and said that keeping an
eye towards the 2021 cru-
cial Assembly election,
Ganguly was made the
BCCI chief in 2019. The
party, however, alleged
that after the Prince of
Calcutta “refused” to join
politics or to be precise…
refused to join “them”, he
was removed.
Ganguly, on the other
hand, recently at a Band-
han Bank event in Kolkata
said, “I have been an ad-
ministrator and I will
move on to something else.
“Whatever you do in life,
the best days are when you
played for India. I have
been president of the BCCI
and I will go on to do big-
ger things. You can’t be a
player forever, you can’t be
an administrator forever.
It’s been great doing both.
“I never believed in his-
tory but the feeling in the
past was East lacked talent
to play at that level. You
don’t become an Ambani
or Narendra Modi in one
day. You have to work for
months and years to get
there,” he further said.
Ganguly also opened up on
his experience leading the
Indian team as captain.
“It was six captains
leading the team. I stood
up for Rahul when he was
almost dropped from the
one-day side. I took their
suggestions in picking the
team. These things don’t
go unnoticed in a team en-
vironment,” he said. “It’s
not just the runs I scored.
People remember other
things. It’s what you do as
a leader for them,” said
the outgoing BCCI chief.
Roger Binny has re-
placed Sourav Ganguly,
while Ganguly is out as
the BCCI president, Jay
Shah will continue to re-
main the board’s secre-
tary. A few other changes
in the BCCI were also
made as the top brass un-
dergoes a reshuffle.
It is actually very sad to
see how politicians react
and in fact reduce the stat-
ure of global icons. Sourav
Ganguly has been one of
the finest and gifted bats-
men India has ever pro-
duced and he’s captain par
excellence. Time and
again, he had demonstrat-
ed his cricketing acumen
and lifted the team to dizzy
heights and under him we
even reached the 2003
World Cup final.
His contribution in
team building has been ex-
emplary and Sourav Gan-
guly, given his status, is
easily one of India’s
brightest icons. However,
we must resist and desist
ourselves from diminish-
ing such a person’s stature
and limit him to being a
Bengali icon. His jabar-
dast fan following across
generations and across the
nation is mind boggling.
When he was made the
captain despite the pres-
ence of greats, these politi-
cians who are today decry-
ing his departure from
BCCI never hailed the de-
cision and said that Ben-
galis were promoted. Gan-
guly was chosen because
of his prowess and acu-
men and the rest is history
.
We must remember that
a BCCI president has never
been repeated since Inde-
pendence. Since there is no
basis for the fact that some-
thing went wrong in the
corridors of power, there’s
no need to sour things un-
necessarily and demean
the stature of such icons.
WhenGangulywasmade
the board president, these
politicians who are beating
their chests today after he
is stepping down, never
hailed the decision then
saying that a Bengali was
given his due. Why didn’t
they then taint the episode
as a political one or why
didn’t they cheer the fact
thataBengaliwasmadethe
Boardpresident?Thattime
they remained silent.
Let’s not spoil the glory
and stint that the gifted
southpaw had. He was an
administrator for eight
long years, including his
stint in the CAB and later
with the BCCI. Politicians
do play their games but the
common man must be
aware of the facts and the
fiction.Equatinganymoves
with political intonations
can easily undermine the
stature of such greats.
SOURAV DADA’S
ACHIEVEMENT AS A
BCCI CHIEF
Day/Night Test
 Ganguly’s BCCI was
instrumental in hosting
the first Day/Night Test
(also called Pink Ball
Test) in the country.
Then skipper Virat Kohli’s
Team India took on Bang-
ladesh and headed for a
massive win in the Day/
Night Test which was held
at the Eden Gardens in
Kolkata in Nov 2019.
 IPL amid Covid scare
When the world was una-
ble to grasp the evolving
and fast-changing scenar-
ios after Covid-19 broke
out in 2020, the BCCI man-
aged to organise the de-
layed IPL for that year in
Dubai, where the infection
rates were far less.
 Domestic cricketers’
pay hike
After assuming the charge
of the BCCI, Ganguly had
clearly stated that his fo-
cus would be on first-class
cricket. In a significant
decision, Ganguly intro-
duced pay hikes for the
cricketers who play in the
domestic circuit.
 Appointing Rahul
Dravid as coach
Ganguly was instrumental
in convincing his former
colleague Rahul Dravid to
become the men’s team’s
head coach after his prede-
cessorRaviShastristepped
down. Also, VVS Laxman
was given the charge of the
National Cricket Academy
afterDravidquittobecome

Ganguly had played an ac-
tive role in appointing Lax-
man to the NCA post as
well.
WOMEN’S IPL
Barely a few weeks ago, the
outgoing BCCI president
had announced the com-
mencement of the wom-
en’s IPL, which is likely to
begin next year. In a letter
to the state associations,
Ganguly wrote as quoted
by various media, “The
BCCI is currently working
onthemuch-awaitedWom-
en’s IPL. We are expecting
to start the first season
early next year.”
Let’s remember the glo-
rious past of such icons
forever and not attach it or
let’s not get entangled in
such episodes and let
Cricket remain Cricket.
Let’s keep our passion for
the game intact and hail
the icons in the way they
should be and let’s bleed
blue for the game that is
religion to us all… a game

‘Will restore glory of Dholavira Lothal’
New Delhi (ANI):
Prime Minister Naren-

viewed the progress of
the National Maritime
Heritage Complex at
Lothal in Gujarat on
Tuesday and said that
the government will
bring back the glory of
Dholavira and Lothal.
In his address via
video conferencing, PM
Modi said, “We’ll bring
back the glory of Dhola-
vira and Lothal. We’re
seeing rapid progress in
this mission. Lothal
was not only a major
trading centre of the In-
dus Valley Civilisation,
but it was also a symbol
of India’s maritime
power and prosperity.
The way in which Lo-
thal was developed as a
port city thousands of
years ago still amazes
experts.” “An industry

ships used to be present
thousands of years ago
in Kutch. Big ships
made in India were sold
all over the world, and
this indifference to-
wards heritage did a
great loss to the country
.
This situation needs to
change,” he added.
He cited the archaeo-
logical evidence and
stated that India was a
maritime power even
thousands of years ago.
He stressed that India
was also a major part of
major sea trade routes.
“We have archaeo-
logical evidence prov-
ing that even thousands
of years ago, India was
a maritime power and
part of major sea trade
routes... The heritage
complex being built in
Lothal will be a great
source of information
for the common man
about India’s rich mari-
time history spanning
centuries,” he said.
“The same splendour,
the same power of thou-
sands of years ago is be-
ing rekindled on this
earth. I am sure it will
become a huge centre of
attraction for tourists
from all over the world.
This complex is being
developed to welcome
thousands of tourists a
day
,” PM added.
He recalled the inci-
dents of history and said
India had relations with
allthecivilisationsof the
world and the country’s
maritime power had a
big role to play in this.
“There are numerous
stories of our history
which we were made to
forget. Ways were not
explored to preserve
them and pass them on
to the next generations.
We could have learnt so
much from those inci-
dents. India’s maritime

of the time judges are
“preoccupied” with de-
cidingtheappointments,
due to which their pri-
mary job of delivering
justice “suffers”.
The minister’s re-
marks came after he
had said at a conference
in Udaipur last month
that there is a need to
rethink the collegium
system of appoint-
ments to the higher ju-
diciary
.
“Till 1993, every
judge in India was ap-
pointed by the law min-
istry in consultation
with the Chief Justice
of India. We had very
eminent judges at that
time,” Rijiju said in re-
sponse to a question on
the process of appoint-
ment of judges.
“The Constitution is
clear about it. It says
that the President of In-
dia will appoint judges,
that means the law min-
istry will appoint judg-
es in consultation with
the Chief Justice of In-
dia,” he said.
“The Supreme Court
in 1993 defined consul-
tation as concurrence.
In no other field has
consultation been de-
fined as concurrence
but in judicial appoint-
ments,” he said, adding
that the collegium sys-
tem was expanded by
the judiciary in 1998.

NORMAL TIES WITH CHINA DEPEND
ON PEACE ON BORDERS: JAISHANKAR
India’s search for a “more balanced” “stable relationship” with China was severely impacted
New Delhi (ANI): Ex-
ternal Affairs Minister
S Jaishankar on Tues-
day said that peace and
tranquillity in the bor-
der areas of India and
China remain the basis
for normal relations.
Speaking at the con-
ference of the Center
for Contemporary Chi-
na Studies (CCCS) on
“China’s Foreign Policy
and International Rela-
tions in the New Era,”
Jaishankar said, “Peace
and tranquillity in the
border areas clearly re-
main the basis for nor-
mal relations. From
time to time, this has
been mischievously
conflated with the sort-
ing out of the boundary
question.” He further
said that the truth is
that the prerequisite
has been and remains
one much more modest,
and even that was
breached in 2020.
Taking to Twitter,
Jaishankar shared the
main points and said
that India’s search for a
more balanced and sta-
ble relationship with
China takes it across
multiple domains and
many options. “Given
the developments of
2020, they obviously fo-
cus on an effective de-
fence of the border. This
was notably undertaken
even in the midst of
Covid,” he added. Refer-
ring to India and China
tensions which intensi-
fied after the Galwan
valleyclash,Jaishankar
said that establishing a
way of life between New
Delhi and Beijing after
2020 is not easy. “Yet, it
is a task that cannot be
set aside. And this can
only become sustaina-
ble on the basis of three
mutuals: mutual re-
spect, mutual sensitivi-
ty and mutual interest,”
EAM added in a tweet.

Ahmedabad: Chief
Minister Ashok Gehlot
has targeted Delhi CM
Arvind Kejriwal and
termed him to be a
brother of PM Naren-
dra Modi in selling lies.
“Now a new leader Ke-
jriwl has come. He is
also like brother of
Modi ji and is no less
than him. They are the
same in speaking, mak-
ing promises and body
language. He has now
said that he will make
the country No.1. Only
Punjab has won. There
must have been some
reason for that. You
have become so arro-
gant and egoistic that
from now on you have
started talking about
making the country

said while interacting
with media in
Ahmedabad.
He further said, “The
kind of language Kejri-
wal is speaking, Modi’s
style is also the same.
Kejriwal has hired peo-
ple in large numbers.
They don’t have work-

where the money for
this activity comes
from. If the Congress

New Delhi: Sachin Pi-
lot reached Army Cantt
in Delhi on Tuesday,
away from political con-
troversy. Pilot, who ar-
rived for his army duty
on Tuesday, shared his
photo donning the uni-
form of a Captain of the
Territorial Army on
Twitter which was
liked by a huge number
of people.
Pilot was posted in
the unit of 124 Sikh Reg-
iment in Delhi Cantt,
served for few hours. He
met the officers and
jawans of the regiment
and discussed work.
Sachin Pilot joined the
Territorial Army as a
Lieutenant in Sept 2012
while being a Union
Minister. Pilot was pro-
moted to the rank of
Captain in December
last year. Notably, on
Tuesday, Pilot took the
exam for promotion in

thus, he couldn’t visit

Jaipur: Young IAS
Avdhesh Meena, a 2017
batch officer, has been
put on APO in a mere
five-year-long service
and this ‘blot’ at the be-
ginning of his career is
not right. Avdhesh was
recently posted as
Commissioner in Jodh-
pur Development Au-
thority and this past
Tuesday at 4 PM, he
received his APO or-
ders, when he was
holding a meeting with
officials.
There are several ru-
mours as to why he was
put on APO suddenly. It
is said that his perfor-
mance for the past
three months in Jodh-
pur has been poor and
his approach has been
lethargic towards
work. Moreover, it is
also claimed that he
did not use to answer
the phone calls of Con-
gress legislators and
workers alike. Word is
that he did not even
pay any attention to a
powerful and senior
Congress leader and
when this leader com-
plained to CM about
this, it was on CMO’s
direction that DoP put
Avdhesh Meena on
APO. The action was so
swift that even the
Principal Secretary of
UDH Department, Kun-
ji Lal Meena came to
know of the develop-
ment at 6 PM, after he
returned from a meet-
ing with CS.
Notably, Avdhesh
has been transferred
five times in the cur-
rent government. In
this, he has served as
SDO Bhinmal for 9
months, SDO Ajmer for
8 months, and 14
months as Commis-
sioner, Jaipur Munici-
pal Corporation (Herit-
age). He was posted to
Jodhpur Development
Authority merely 3
months back in July
2022.
But another side of
this coin is that on this
post of Commissioner,
Jodhpur Development
Authority, four officers
have been changed -
namely Gaurav Agraw-
al, QUZ Choudhary,
Inderjeet Yadav and
Avdhesh Meena.
According to a sen-
ior officer of the State
Government, the
young IAS officers are
unable to come to
terms with this chair,
and hence for the first
time, an RAS officer,
Navneet Kumar, a 1997
batch senior RAS, has
been handed over the
reins.
Interestingly, the en-
tire IAS lobby is sur-
prised by the State
Government’s deci-
sion.

Chief Secretary Usha

New Delhi today to par-
ticipate in the meeting.
Word is that the names
of three prominent sen-
ior IPS officers are in
consideration for the
new Director General
of Police.
Jaipur: CM Gehlot has ap-
proved a financial provision
of Rs 50 crore for the con-
struction of Mini Secretariat
building at Sirohi district
HQs. With the construction
of this building, the offices
of various govt departments
will operate under one roof,
which will provide ease to the
common man.
Jaipur: CM Gehlot has ap-
proved a financial provision
of Rs 1 crore for the con-
struction of the first phase
of Civil Training Institute to
be opened at Daulatpura
in Jamwaramgarh tehsil of
Jaipur district. Through this
institute, the youth of the
state will be given training in
disaster management.
Jaipur: CM has approved a
budget of Rs 20 cr for STP
to be set up for disposal
waste of hospitals. STPs
will be set up at RUHS, SMS

Women’s Hospital Jaipur,

pur, PBM Hospital, Bikaner

tion led by LoP Gulab
Chand Kataria met
Asssembly Speaker
Dr CP Joshi at his
residence, demanding
a decision on Con-
gress MLAs who re-
signed in support of
CM Ashok Gehlot.
Joshi has assured
them that a decision
will be taken soon. Ka-
taria said “If any
MLA expresses his de-
sire to accept the res-
ignation letter, then
his resignation is ac-
cepted by mere desire.
If the MLA resigns for
any other reason, only
then it should be in-
vestigated. Aa per the
rules and procedures,
the decision is taken
by the Speaker of the
Assembly, but the
matter should be ad-
dressed soon,” he
said.
Deputy LoP Rajen-
dra Rathore said,
“Congress MLAs and
ministers have sub-
mitted their resigna-
tions to CP Joshi. It
should be accepted.
Joshi has assured the
delegation that he will
prove to be an exam-
ple in parliamentary
history,” he said.
BJP President Sat-
ish Poonia said,
“Joshi has not taken
any decision. When

have resigned, then in
what capacity are
they using govt facili-
ties like bungalows
and vehicles.”

Food Civil Supplies Minister Pratap
Singh Khachariyawas lashed out at
BJP leaders saying that people gave
mandate to BJP in LS polls but 25 MPs
are nowhere to be seen. He also said
that BJP leaders meeting Assembly
Speaker over issue of Congress legisla-
tors’ resignations was nothing less than
a drama. Khachariawas also said that
BJP talks about religion but actually the
they are descendant of Lord Ram.
Jaipur: A division bench of Justices MM Srivastava VK
Bharwani in Rajasthan HC has accepted Speaker’s application
for early hearing in disqualification notice case against Sachin
Pilot and 19 MLAs of his faction. It was said in the application
on behalf of MLA Mohan Lal Nama that due to political instabil-
ity, State’s work is being disrupted. Opposing application on
petitioner MLA PR Meena’s behalf, SLP is pending in SC, so
HC shouldn’t conduct hearing at present. HC accepted applica-
tion of Nama, listed hearing in 3rd week of Nov.
Jaipur: BJP State President
Satish Poonia on Tuesday,
reacted to Chief Minister
Ashok Gehlot’s statement
on BJP leader Vasundhara
Raje. Gehlot had yesterday
said that the “injustice”
the party’s High Command
is doing with former CM
Vasundhara Raje is being
seen by everyone. Reacting
to the statement, Poonia
said he is seeing fire on a
hill, but not under his feet.
He tweeted in Rajasthani
language, “Dungar Ki Balti
Dikhe, Pagan Ki Balti Koni
Dikhe.” Poonia meant that
Gehlot does not see the
strife within his own party
but keeps talking about
the BJP.
Internal factionalism in the BJP was
visible once again on Tuesday as
former CM Vasundhara Raje was not
invited for submitting the memoran-
dum to Speaker CP Joshi while the
latter’s residence is just opposite to
Raje’s. Raje was available at her 13
Civil Lines residence. If sources are to
be believed, the leaders have adopted
silence regarding this matter but it is
doing rounds in the political corridors.

The affidavit filed by the Gujarat government in the Supreme Court on Monday stated that the re- mission in sentence was allowed keeping in mind the good behaviour of the convicts and not in ac- cordance with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebra- tions. The significant part of the affidavit was that the remission had the ap- proval of the Union Home Ministry. Bilkis Bano was gan- graped in Gujarat’s Ran- dhikpur village during the 2002 Gujarat riots. Seven members of her family and her three-year old daughter were killed by the accused in front of her. She was pregnant at the time and was only 21 years of age. The Supreme Court crit- icized the Gujarat govern- ment for filing a reply which lacked “application of mind” and lacking fac- tual statements. The re- mission must give hope to others committing hei- nous crimes like this. The Gujarat govt’s affidavit in the Bilkis Bano case has shifted focus on premature release of 11 convicts from state to Centre. Editor-In-Chief: Dr Jagdeesh Chandra Editor: Anita Hada Sangwan responsible for selection of news under the PRB Act Gujarat lesson: Every sinner has a future or the last one week, there was a lot of political heart- burn over the fact that Sourav Ganguly would not remain the BCCI presi- dent post Oct 18, 2022. Criticising the party at the Centre, Trinamool Congress raised the issues and said that keeping an eye towards the 2021 cru- cial Assembly election, Ganguly was made the BCCI chief in 2019. The party, however, alleged that after the Prince of Calcutta “refused” to join politics or to be precise… refused to join “them”, he was removed. Ganguly, on the other hand, recently at a Band- han Bank event in Kolkata said, “I have been an ad- ministrator and I will move on to something else. “Whatever you do in life, the best days are when you played for India. I have been president of the BCCI and I will go on to do big- ger things. You can’t be a player forever, you can’t be an administrator forever. It’s been great doing both. “I never believed in his- tory but the feeling in the past was East lacked talent to play at that level. You don’t become an Ambani or Narendra Modi in one day. You have to work for months and years to get there,” he further said. Ganguly also opened up on his experience leading the Indian team as captain. “It was six captains leading the team. I stood up for Rahul when he was almost dropped from the one-day side. I took their suggestions in picking the team. These things don’t go unnoticed in a team en- vironment,” he said. “It’s not just the runs I scored. People remember other things. It’s what you do as a leader for them,” said the outgoing BCCI chief. Roger Binny has re- placed Sourav Ganguly, while Ganguly is out as the BCCI president, Jay Shah will continue to re- main the board’s secre- tary. A few other changes in the BCCI were also made as the top brass un- dergoes a reshuffle. It is actually very sad to see how politicians react and in fact reduce the stat- ure of global icons. Sourav Ganguly has been one of the finest and gifted bats- men India has ever pro- duced and he’s captain par excellence. Time and again, he had demonstrat- ed his cricketing acumen and lifted the team to dizzy heights and under him we even reached the 2003 World Cup final. His contribution in team building has been ex- emplary and Sourav Gan- guly, given his status, is easily one of India’s brightest icons. However, we must resist and desist ourselves from diminish- ing such a person’s stature and limit him to being a Bengali icon. His jabar- dast fan following across generations and across the nation is mind boggling. When he was made the captain despite the pres- ence of greats, these politi- cians who are today decry- ing his departure from BCCI never hailed the de- cision and said that Ben- galis were promoted. Gan- guly was chosen because of his prowess and acu- men and the rest is history . We must remember that a BCCI president has never been repeated since Inde- pendence. Since there is no basis for the fact that some- thing went wrong in the corridors of power, there’s no need to sour things un- necessarily and demean the stature of such icons. WhenGangulywasmade the board president, these politicians who are beating their chests today after he is stepping down, never hailed the decision then saying that a Bengali was given his due. Why didn’t they then taint the episode as a political one or why didn’t they cheer the fact thataBengaliwasmadethe Boardpresident?Thattime they remained silent. Let’s not spoil the glory and stint that the gifted southpaw had. He was an administrator for eight long years, including his stint in the CAB and later with the BCCI. Politicians do play their games but the common man must be aware of the facts and the fiction.Equatinganymoves with political intonations can easily undermine the stature of such greats. SOURAV DADA’S ACHIEVEMENT AS A BCCI CHIEF Day/Night Test  Ganguly’s BCCI was instrumental in hosting the first Day/Night Test (also called Pink Ball Test) in the country. Then skipper Virat Kohli’s Team India took on Bang- ladesh and headed for a massive win in the Day/ Night Test which was held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in Nov 2019.  IPL amid Covid scare When the world was una- ble to grasp the evolving and fast-changing scenar- ios after Covid-19 broke out in 2020, the BCCI man- aged to organise the de- layed IPL for that year in Dubai, where the infection rates were far less.  Domestic cricketers’ pay hike After assuming the charge of the BCCI, Ganguly had clearly stated that his fo- cus would be on first-class cricket. In a significant decision, Ganguly intro- duced pay hikes for the cricketers who play in the domestic circuit.  Appointing Rahul Dravid as coach Ganguly was instrumental in convincing his former colleague Rahul Dravid to become the men’s team’s head coach after his prede- cessorRaviShastristepped down. Also, VVS Laxman was given the charge of the National Cricket Academy afterDravidquittobecome theTeamIndiaheadcoach. Ganguly had played an ac- tive role in appointing Lax- man to the NCA post as well. WOMEN’S IPL Barely a few weeks ago, the outgoing BCCI president had announced the com- mencement of the wom- en’s IPL, which is likely to begin next year. In a letter to the state associations, Ganguly wrote as quoted by various media, “The BCCI is currently working onthemuch-awaitedWom- en’s IPL. We are expecting to start the first season early next year.” Let’s remember the glo- rious past of such icons forever and not attach it or let’s not get entangled in such episodes and let Cricket remain Cricket. Let’s keep our passion for the game intact and hail the icons in the way they should be and let’s bleed blue for the game that is religion to us all… a game that actually unites India. THE VIEWS EXPRESSED BY THE AUTHOR ARE PERSONAL Let’s remember the glorious past of such icons forever and not attach it or let’s not get entangled in such episodes and let Cricket remain Cricket. A few other changes in the BCCI has also been made as the top brass undergoes a major reshuffle. Kapil, who was sacked as the chairman of the National Cricket Academy after he took up his position as the chairman of the ICL board, insisted that he, along with fellow former players who had defected to the rebel league, were keen to work with the BCCI, but couldn’t do so because of governing body. Rajendra Chhabra Jaipur: Young IAS Avdhesh Meena, a 2017 batch officer, has been put on APO in a mere five-year-long service and this ‘blot’ at the be- ginning of his career is not right. Avdhesh was recently posted as Commissioner in Jodh- pur Development Au- thority and this past Tuesday at 4 PM, he received his APO or- ders, when he was holding a meeting with officials. There are several ru- mours as to why he was put on APO suddenly. It is said that his perfor- mance for the past three months in Jodh- pur has been poor and his approach has been lethargic towards work. Moreover, it is also claimed that he did not use to answer the phone calls of Con- gress legislators and workers alike. Word is that he did not even pay any attention to a powerful and senior Congress leader and when this leader com- plained to CM about this, it was on CMO’s direction that DoP put Avdhesh Meena on APO. The action was so swift that even the Principal Secretary of UDH Department, Kun- ji Lal Meena came to know of the develop- ment at 6 PM, after he returned from a meet- ing with CS. Notably, Avdhesh has been transferred five times in the cur- rent government. In this, he has served as SDO Bhinmal for 9 months, SDO Ajmer for 8 months, and 14 months as Commis- sioner, Jaipur Munici- pal Corporation (Herit- age). He was posted to Jodhpur Development Authority merely 3 months back in July 2022. But another side of this coin is that on this post of Commissioner, Jodhpur Development Authority, four officers have been changed - namely Gaurav Agraw- al, QUZ Choudhary, Inderjeet Yadav and Avdhesh Meena. According to a sen- ior officer of the State Government, the young IAS officers are unable to come to terms with this chair, and hence for the first time, an RAS officer, Navneet Kumar, a 1997 batch senior RAS, has been handed over the reins. Joshi has assured them that a decision will be taken soon. Ka- taria said “If any MLA expresses his de- sire to accept the res- ignation letter, then his resignation is ac- cepted by mere desire. If the MLA resigns for any other reason, only then it should be in- vestigated. Aa per the rules and procedures, the decision is taken by the Speaker of the Assembly, but the matter should be ad- dressed soon,” he said. Gehlot had yesterday said that the “injustice” the party’s High Command is doing with former CM Vasundhara Raje is being seen by everyone. Reacting to the statement, Poonia said he is seeing fire on a hill, but not under his feet. He tweeted in Rajasthani language, “Dungar Ki Balti Dikhe, Pagan Ki Balti Koni Dikhe.” Poonia meant that Gehlot does not see the strife within his own party but keeps talking about the BJP. Internal factionalism in the BJP was visible once again on Tuesday as former CM Vasundhara Raje was not invited for submitting the memoran- dum to Speaker CP Joshi while the latter’s residence is just opposite to Raje’s. Raje was available at her 13 Civil Lines residence. If sources are to be believed, the leaders have adopted silence regarding this matter but it is doing rounds in the political corridors.
