feature high-rise buildings, historic neighborhoods, and open spaces, along with a comprehensive road and rail
system. !

Represents a new model of compact, environmentally enhanced urban design for the rapid development of satellite
cities along Chinese high-speed-rail corridors. The plan leverages the economic and lifestyle assets of the Beijing-
Tianjin corridor by centering the new environmentally friendly district along the high-speed-rail line linking the national
capital to the port city of Tianjin. !

For two new islands on 450 hectares of reclaimed land off the north coast of Jakarta, Indonesia, creates the first phase
of a unique “archipelago” city district to be built in the historic Jakarta Bay. Linking mixed-use districts with residential
neighborhoods will be a network of boulevards, green spaces, and plazas, including a Central Park on each island. !

This master plan for University Island in Guangzhou uses the development patterns of four ancient farm villages to
humanize a recent wave of rapid development. It integrates existing villages into an overarching framework that
establishes new centers of student and village life, pinpoints areas for historic preservation, and uses lower-scaled
development to reinforce a walkable community.!

The 236-hectare plan calls for the creation of five mixed-use neighborhoods with good transit connections and
