SF6 CIRCUIT BREAKER
• SF6 (sulphur-hexafluoride) gas possesses a
unique combination of properties, making it an
excellent gas for use in circuit breakers. The
properties are:
• High insulation strength
• Excellent interrupting capability
• Chemically stable even at high temperature
• Non-toxic
• Non-flammable

Cont.
• Insulating capability is three times
greater than that of air and at 3 bar
(43.5 psi) it is even better than that of
transformer oil
