A spectrum analysis calculates displacements and stresses in a structural model using modal analysis results and a known spectrum representing time-dependent loads like earthquakes or wind. There are different types of spectra: response spectra graph response vs. frequency; single-point and multi-point response spectra use one or multiple curves; power spectral density spectra are statistical measures of response to random loads graphed against frequency. Spectrum analyses can be deterministic using maximum values or probabilistic representing probability of response quantities.

Static and Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of Three Coordinates manipulator ...IJRES Journal
The paper studied the static and dynamic characteristics of the three coordinates manipulator which
was used in reliability test system for low voltage electrical apparatus. The deformation cloud diagram and
stress cloud diagram were obtained by using the finite element analysis software Ansys Workbench to carry out
the static analysis, and the result showed that the mechanism satisfied the rigidity and the intensity request. The
modal analysis of the mechanism which got the natural frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes of the
first 8 order and compared the resonance frequency of the actual work environment was carried out. The random
vibration analysis of the mechanism wad carried out on the basis of modal analysis, which got the acceleration
response in the direction of x、y、z and the equivalent stress cloud diagram of the mechanism. According to the
results of analysis, the vibration control of the body should be applied to reduce the random vibration response
value.

Multi-objective Optimization of PID Controller using Pareto-based Surrogate ...IJECEIAES
Most control engineering problems are characterized by several objectives, which have to be satisfied simultaneously. Two widely used methods for finding the optimal solution to such problems are aggregating to a single criterion, and using Pareto-optimal solutions. This paper proposed a Paretobased Surrogate Modeling Algorithm (PSMA) approach using a combination of Surrogate Modeling (SM) optimization and Pareto-optimal solution to find a fixed-gain, discrete-time Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller for a Multi Input Multi Output (MIMO) Forced Circulation Evaporator (FCE) process plant. Experimental results show that a multi-objective, PSMA search was able to give a good approximation to the optimum controller parameters in this case. The Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) method was also used to optimize the controller parameters and as comparison with PSMA.

Estimation of global solar radiation by using machine learning methodsmehmet şahin
In this study, global solar radiation (GSR) was estimated based on 53 locations by using ELM, SVR, KNN, LR and NU-SVR methods. Methods were trained with a two-year data set and accuracy of the mentioned methods was tested with a one-year data set. The data set of each year was consisting of 12 months. Whereas the values of month, altitude, latitude, longitude, vapour pressure deficit and land surface temperature were used as input for developing models, GSR was obtained as output. Values of vapour pressure deficit and land surface temperature were taken from radiometry of NOAA-AVHRR satellite. Estimated solar radiation data were compared with actual data that were obtained from meteorological stations. According to statistical results, most successful method was NU-SVR method. The RMSE and MBE values of NU-SVR method were found to be 1,4972 MJ/m2 and 0,2652 MJ/m2, respectively. R value was 0,9728. Furthermore, worst prediction method was LR. For other methods, RMSE values were changing between 1,7746 MJ/m2 and 2,4546 MJ/m2. It can be seen from the statistical results that ELM, SVR, k-NN and NU-SVR methods can be used for estimation of GSR.

Shock Simulation of the Optics Mirror Assembly By Numerical MethodIJERA Editor
Satellite faces many extreme types of loading throughout their life time from the harsh launch environment to
the critical space environment. Launch load mainly dynamic is the main design concern for space structure.
Shocks are the one of the most critical dynamic load occurs in spacecraft. Optics Mirror Assembly (OMA) is
used in the telescope of the satellite. The telescope performance relies on dimensional control & the geometric
positioning of the mirror, pointing accuracy and controlled surface deformation of the mirror; Mirror fixation
device (MFD) is used for controlling all these factors. It should not distort due to launch loads mainly shocks as
well as loads during operation of the telescope. In the present work an attempt has been made to perform
experimental and computational analysis of the shock load on Optics Mirror Assembly.
The FE modal for Shock Analysis purpose has been analysed with a specific Linear Transient Response
Analysis in order to obtain the time history of acceleration in several output points. The analysis has been
conducted over the time interval 0 to 62 ms and frequency band between 10 - 10 KHz. In order to verify the
feasibility and reliability of the numerical (Implicit Finite Element Code, Nastran) analysis, the numerical
results obtained by Nastran have been compared with those obtained experimentally in the form of SRS. The
overall outcome of the simulation method has proven its reliability in simulating Satellite payloads subjected to
shocks.
Comparative analysis on an exponential form of pulse with an integer and non-...IJERA Editor
The theme of this paper is to make a fundamental comparative analysis on time-bandwidth product of a short
duration pulse, whose amplitude is varied with an exponent as an integer and non-integer. The time-bandwidth
product is the most significant factor in pulse compression techniques which is used very often in radar systems
for better detection of the target and resolving the ambiguities in the both range and velocity with the help of
ambiguity function. In this paper, different exponents have been used and it is observed that the non-integer
exponents are giving slightly better quantitative parameters like time-bandwidth product, relative sidelobe level
and main lobe widths. To improve these quantitative parameters, phase variations have been incorporated with
the differentiated pulses of the original exponential signal. Finally, the modulation has also been applied on the
pulses to observe the results in real practical applications. From all these analysis, it is concluded that the
differentiated non-integer exponential pulse with bi-polar variations is giving better pulse compression
requirements (time-bandwidth product, peak sidelobe level, 3-dB beamwidth and main lobe widths) compared
to all other pulse forms. The outputs of the matched filter are also observed for each pulse shape.

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Introduction
• A spectrum analysis is one in which the results of a modal analysis are used with a
known spectrum to calculate displacements and stresses in the model.
• It is mainly used in place of a time-history analysis to determine the response of
structures to random or time-dependent loading conditions such as earthquakes, wind
loads, ocean wave loads, jet engine thrust, rocket motor vibrations, and so on
3. 7/22/2019 3
• The spectrum is a graph of spectral value versus frequency that captures the intensity
and frequency content of time-history loads. Three types of spectra are available for a
spectrum analysis:
• Response Spectrum
• Single-point Response Spectrum (SPRS)
• Multi-point Response Spectrum (MPRS)
• Dynamic Design Analysis Method (DDAM)
• Power Spectral Density (PSD)
4. 7/22/2019 4
Response spectrum
• A response spectrum represents the response of single-DOF systems to a time-history
loading function. It is a graph of response versus frequency, where the response might be
displacement, velocity, acceleration, or force.
• Two types of response spectrum analysis are possible:
• single-point response spectrum and
• multi-point response spectrum.
5. 7/22/2019 5
Single-point Response Spectrum (SPRS)
• In a single-point response spectrum (SPRS) analysis, you specify one response spectrum
curve (or a family of curves) at a set of points in the model
Multi-Point Response Spectrum (MPRS)
• In a multi-point response spectrum (MPRS) analysis, you specify different spectrum
curves at different sets of points
6. 7/22/2019 6
Dynamic Design Analysis Method (DDAM) :
• The Dynamic Design Analysis Method (DDAM) is a technique used to evaluate the shock
resistance of shipboard equipment.
• The technique is essentially a response spectrum analysis in which the spectrum is
obtained from a series of empirical equations and shock design
7. 7/22/2019 7
Power Spectral Density
• Power spectral density (PSD) is a statistical measure defined as the limiting mean-square
value of a random variable.
• It is used in random vibration analyses in which the instantaneous magnitudes of the
response can be specified only by probability distribution functions that show the
probability of the magnitude taking a particular value.
• A PSD spectrum is a statistical measure of the response of a structure to random dynamic
loading conditions.
• It is a graph of the PSD value versus frequency, where the PSD may be a displacement
PSD, velocity PSD, acceleration PSD, or force PSD.
8. 7/22/2019 8
• Mathematically, the area under a PSD-versus-frequency curve is equal to the variance
(square of the standard deviation of the response).
• Similar to response spectrum analysis, a random vibration analysis may be single-point or
multi-point. In a single-point random vibration analysis, you specify one PSD spectrum at
a set of points in the model. In a multi-point random vibration analysis, you specify
different PSD spectra at different points in the model.
• Note-The sparse direct solver is not applicable to PSD spectrum analysis
9. 7/22/2019 9
Deterministic Vs. Probabilistic Analyses
• Response spectrum and DDAM analyses are deterministic analyses because both the
input to the analyses and output from the analyses are actual maximum values.
• Random vibration analysis, on the other hand, is probabilistic in nature, because both
input and output quantities represent only the probability that they take on certain
values.
