So, here we are: your final project! This is the completed research-based argument
essay that you have already worked on substantially by completing Assignment 1, your
rhetorical analysis. This exercise is fundamental: you’ll be asked to write argumentative essays
very frequently in college. It’s also an amazing skill to have for your future life: you’ll know
how to efficiently analyze any material, critically question things that are presented as truths to
you, and you’ll know how to make a powerful, professionally back-up argument. It doesn’t have
to be tedious: by following the step-by-step method you started for Assignment 1, you have
already spread out the work.
Hopefully you’ve chosen a topic and a medium that you’re deeply interested in, so that
you find enjoyment in your project. Topping up the research you’ve done for Assignment 1 with
the two additional Reflective Annotated Bibliography sheets from Week 12, you may note
that your thesis changes slightly, or your topic framing or approach shifts. That’s complete fine
and normal: it shows you’ve deepened your reflection since first working on your topic,
receiving feedback from me and your peers, and it also allows you to update the research angle
you’re interested in exploring with this final project. An academic will frequently take weeks or
even months to complete a peer-reviewed article like the ones you used for your RefAnnBibs,

This week you will be creating and submitting a draft of your Final Research Paper that is based on the topic you selected from the
Research Paper Guidelines
and from the Final Research Paper Outline from Week Two. Please be sure to review the
Model Research Paper Draft

to understand the expectations for the assignment this week.
The Final Research Paper Draft must contain the following components:
A title page and a references page (based upon your annotated bibliography).
An introduction that features a thesis statement that is clearly articulated and argumentative and/or analytical. Ideally, the introduction should be a single, compelling paragraph.
Body paragraphs that develop at least one research-supported argument. (Note: The body of your paper should feature in-text citations that leverage at least four different sources.)
APA-style formatting, including properly documented citations.
Your draft must be 750 to 2,000 words in length, excluding the title and references pages. Remember to proofread your work for errors in grammar, mechanics, style, and formatting. Submit as much work as possible, whether it is a full or partial draft. Please refer to

The Literature Review
This week, we will be expanding on the work we started in week two of this course. Rather than just analyzing resources, this week we will be blending our resources into a larger frame, drawing connections between each of the resources and to our project thesis.
A literature review has two specific goals:
To demonstrate that you, the researcher, has done his or her due dillgence in exploring the work other researchers have done in the area; and
To ground the theory in the current research available.
You should think of your literature review as a way to tell a story about your research using sources as guideposts along the way. Think about your role in this as a moderator in a discussion between your sources, and your job is to keep them focused on your thesis (this is usually the first section of a research article, so you should use the literature reviews of your sources as a model for what we are doing here).
You will need a minimum of five (5) sources in your literature review (you will need a total of ten in your Final Project). Consider the following to help you gather these sources:
Do a library search using Grantham’s EBSCOhost library database or from Google Scholar
Use key words to search (try different variations)
Only use scholarly books or peer-reviewed journal articles
Choose sources from within the past 5 years (you can set your EBSCO search to only show articles within this range)
Read titles to see what looks relevant (don’t waste your time reading things that don’t look like they will work for your project)
Read the abstracts and only choose the most pertinent articles (once again, don’t waste your time—if the abstract doesn’t seem promising, move on to the nerxt article).
Please note: information from the Internet may not be used for this project unless the source is from an e-journal (a peer-reviewed journal that is published on the web). The organization’s website is an exception to this rule, but it can only count as one of your ten sources.

Create a literature review, incorporating each of your references (minimum of five), tying them to each other and to the thesis of your project in a single narrative. You should cite each source in the body of your literature review and in a references page at the end of your paper.
Your literature review should be arranged in the following way:
Introduction: A concise definition of the topic and organization with which you are working. A clearly stated thesis of your project. A brief description about how this project might be interesting and/or important to your readers/adudience.
Main Body: A discussion of each of your sources, including what they are claiming, how they relate to other sources you are using, and how they support your thesis (make sure you identify and cite each source as you use them). Each work should be summarized and evaluated for its premise, scope, and conclusion. In addition, address any inconsistencies, omissions, or errors.

So, here we are: your final project! This is the completed research-based argument
essay that you have already worked on substantially by completing Assignment 1, your
rhetorical analysis. This exercise is fundamental: you’ll be asked to write argumentative essays
very frequently in college. It’s also an amazing skill to have for your future life: you’ll know
how to efficiently analyze any material, critically question things that are presented as truths to
you, and you’ll know how to make a powerful, professionally back-up argument. It doesn’t have
to be tedious: by following the step-by-step method you started for Assignment 1, you have
already spread out the work.
Hopefully you’ve chosen a topic and a medium that you’re deeply interested in, so that
you find enjoyment in your project. Topping up the research you’ve done for Assignment 1 with
the two additional Reflective Annotated Bibliography sheets from Week 12, you may note
that your thesis changes slightly, or your topic framing or approach shifts. That’s complete fine
and normal: it shows you’ve deepened your reflection since first working on your topic,
receiving feedback from me and your peers, and it also allows you to update the research angle
you’re interested in exploring with this final project. An academic will frequently take weeks or
even months to complete a peer-reviewed article like the ones you used for your RefAnnBibs,
adding ideas, rearranging the structure of their argument, and refining their thesis as they go.

Research Paper Guidelines
and from the Final Research Paper Outline from Week Two. Please be sure to review the

to understand the expectations for the assignment this week.
The Final Research Paper Draft must contain the following components:
A title page and a references page (based upon your annotated bibliography).
An introduction that features a thesis statement that is clearly articulated and argumentative and/or analytical. Ideally, the introduction should be a single, compelling paragraph.
Body paragraphs that develop at least one research-supported argument. (Note: The body of your paper should feature in-text citations that leverage at least four different sources.)
APA-style formatting, including properly documented citations.
Your draft must be 750 to 2,000 words in length, excluding the title and references pages. Remember to proofread your work for errors in grammar, mechanics, style, and formatting. Submit as much work as possible, whether it is a full or partial draft. Please refer to

The Literature Review
This week, we will be expanding on the work we started in week two of this course. Rather than just analyzing resources, this week we will be blending our resources into a larger frame, drawing connections between each of the resources and to our project thesis.
A literature review has two specific goals:
To demonstrate that you, the researcher, has done his or her due dillgence in exploring the work other researchers have done in the area; and
To ground the theory in the current research available.
You should think of your literature review as a way to tell a story about your research using sources as guideposts along the way. Think about your role in this as a moderator in a discussion between your sources, and your job is to keep them focused on your thesis (this is usually the first section of a research article, so you should use the literature reviews of your sources as a model for what we are doing here).
You will need a minimum of five (5) sources in your literature review (you will need a total of ten in your Final Project). Consider the following to help you gather these sources:
Do a library search using Grantham’s EBSCOhost library database or from Google Scholar
Use key words to search (try different variations)
Only use scholarly books or peer-reviewed journal articles
Choose sources from within the past 5 years (you can set your EBSCO search to only show articles within this range)
Read titles to see what looks relevant (don’t waste your time reading things that don’t look like they will work for your project)
Read the abstracts and only choose the most pertinent articles (once again, don’t waste your time—if the abstract doesn’t seem promising, move on to the nerxt article).
Please note: information from the Internet may not be used for this project unless the source is from an e-journal (a peer-reviewed journal that is published on the web). The organization’s website is an exception to this rule, but it can only count as one of your ten sources.
Assignment
Create a literature review, incorporating each of your references (minimum of five), tying them to each other and to the thesis of your project in a single narrative. You should cite each source in the body of your literature review and in a references page at the end of your paper.
Your literature review should be arranged in the following way:
Introduction: A concise definition of the topic and organization with which you are working. A clearly stated thesis of your project. A brief description about how this project might be interesting and/or important to your readers/adudience.
Main Body: A discussion of each of your sources, including what they are claiming, how they relate to other sources you are using, and how they support your thesis (make sure you identify and cite each source as you use them). Each work should be summarized and evaluated for its premise, scope, and conclusion. In addition, address any inconsistencies, omissions, or errors.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the

- 1. 102-Unit 4 Essay “Multi-media Presentation:” Presenting Your Research This creative project will combine visual, verbal, and audio mediums to present the research and analysis you’ve done this semester. This four-draft process will accumulate in a multimedia presentation; a white paper, video blog, infographic, podcast, etc. PowerPoints accepted if used in congruence with an audio piece. At least 5 pages, no more than 10, of written work should go into the project. This does not need to adhere to MLA-8 standards, and I refer to this as your “script.” Mind-Map: Gather and organize your research into a format of your choosing. This can be an outline, a bubble graph, etc. This draft is building the verbal structure of your project. It should include an intro and conclusion, as well as a thesis. Rough Draft: This draft focuses on two things-The body of verbal argument. Does it “flow” well? And research. Does the research provide support and evidence for your thesis? Abstract: With this draft you will create a 250 word abstract which will be peer-reviewed workshop style during week 12. An abstract presents a quick overview of your argument, including your thesis, the points you have to support it, and how you conclude. Final Draft: This will be the final product. Use your rough draft to transfer your textual research into a multimedia presentation. You will need to electronically submit the two previous drafts, the final product, and your abstract in the unit four drop box by Friday, December 13th at 11:59pm. You will not actually present anything. Don’t worry. In assessment I will look for: • Four different drafts • Effectiveness of brainstorming and organization • A thesis with a specific and arguable claim • Support of your claim from your research • Questions from conference and peer review adequately addressed • An abstract that presents your argument • Participation in abstract workshop • Adherence to appropriate conventions of English (Proofreading)
