This short story is about a king who complained about the rough roads hurting his feet after a long trip. He ordered his people to cover all the roads in the country with leather to fix the problem. However, one wise servant suggested simply cutting a small piece of leather to cover the king's feet instead of spending huge resources to cover all the roads. The king realized this was a better solution. The moral is that it is better to change yourself rather than trying to change the whole world.
