This ppt will definitely help you to get the knowledge about technical textiles in very easy way. I tried to make it very simple so that any1 can understand it in better way.
Braiding is a simple form of narrow fabric construction. A braid is a rope like thing, which is made by interweaving three or more stands, strips, or lengths in a diagonally overlapping pattern. They have good elongation characteristics and are very pliable, curving around edges nicely.
Braids are divided into two types :
1. Flat braids, in the form of strips or narrow flat
tapes.
2. Round braids, tubular in form, which may be
hollow or have a center core of some material.
Braiding are produced from any of the textile fibers (cotton, jute, nylon, glass fiber, rubber .................etc), as well as from metal threads, tinsel, straw, wire or leather.
The traditional circular braiding machine contains a series of bobbins of yarn mounted on a moving track at the bottom of the machine. The braid is produced as the bobbins move in and out around the base of the machine ,much as Maypole dancer do. Interweaving yarns by braiding produces a flexible fabric; the fabric can be stretched in one direction, but it contracts in the other.
Braided fabrics braiding is more significant for Industrial fabrics than consumer textiles. Braiding is one of the major fabrication methods for composite reinforcement structures , with increasing application of electrical wires and cables, harnesses , hopes, Industrial belts and surgical sutures. This principle of fabric construction is used for making shaped articles , such as straw hats and small rugs ;narrow fabrics , such as ribbons and braids for millinery and accessory dress materials; cords and tapes, such as fish lines, show laces, wicks, parachute cords and structural components for other industrial products.
Expanded Plastics, Polyurethane, Polyamide and Polyester Fibres Ajjay Kumar Gupta
Expanded Plastics, Polyurethane, Polyamide and Polyester Fibres (Polyepoxides and Epoxy Resins, Polyamides and Polyimides, Polyesters, Polyolefins, Polycondensation, Fiber Production, Prepolymer Production, Polyether Polyols with Epoxy Resins, Polyimides, Closed Cell Foamed Films and Sheets, Plastic Deformation, Closed Cell Polyimides)
Expanded plastics are also known as foamed plastics or cellular plastics. Expanded plastics can be flexible, semi flexible, semi rigid or rigid. They can also be thermoplastic or thermosetting and can exist as open celled or closed celled materials. Expanded plastics may be prepared from most synthetic and many natural polymers. Most of the industrially important ones are made from polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, polyurethanes and polyethylene, as well as from resins that derive from phenol, epoxy, etc.

Agro Textiles
Agriculture has been amongst the most primal occupations of the humankind and is still a major industry, globally. In this era of modernization and high technological advancements, it has spread its horizons and started using man-made, non-conventional textiles, called “technical textiles”.
Tapping the potential of technical textiles and putting their vital properties to an advantage; agriculture, horticulture, forestry and fishing segments (all the four sectors combined together are popularly called as “Agrotech” sector) are increasingly using them for equipment development and other applications.
This textile sector comprises of all textiles that are used in growing, harvesting, protection and storage of either crops or animals. It includes diverse items such as fishing nets and fish-lines, ropes, shade fabrics, mulch mats, woven and non-woven covers for crops, bird protection nests, etc. These textiles are driving the sector profitably by improving the productivity and reducing the need for chemicals.
Some of the purposes for which these textiles are being increasingly used are as follows:
Preventing erosion and paving way for afforestation
In greenhouse cover and fishing nets
For Layer separation in fields
In Nets for plants, rootless plants & protecting grassy areas
As sun screens (since they have adjustable screening)and wind shields
As packing material and in bags for storing grass (that has been mowed)
Controlling stretch in knitted nets
Shade for basins
Anti-birds nets
Fabrics for sifting and separation, for the phases of enlargement of the larvae
Materials for ground and plant water management at the time of scarcity and abundance of water.

PEBAXFOAM IN FOOTWEAR
Lightest foam for shoes
PebaxFoam has a very low density (only 55kg/m3) that allows the design of lighter parts. PebaxFoam is ideal for midsole, insole, impact insert and padding applications.
