Main Features of A Mosque
Ai) Describe the main features of a mosque
A mosque is mainly used as a place of worship for Muslims to pray to Allah. Not all mosques are
the same, they vary from place to place. Some mosques are big and expensive whilst some other
mosques are small and cheap. All mosques are different but are yet similar in some ways for
example; all mosques are a place of worship.
Some mosque have a tall minaret in which the Muezzin uses it to call the Adthaan, informing
nearby Muslims that the time of prayer has come and they must quickly start their prayer. This is
one of the most important features of a mosque because without the minaret the Muezzin would not
be able to call out the Adthaan, prevent many Muslims being able to tell if it is time ... Show more

Anyone can be an Imam but they all have to go through this process. Women, on the other hand,
can be Imams but can only lead the prayers for women and act as women congregates. In Islam, it is
prohibited for a woman to lead men in prayers but Islam does not prohibit a woman from teaching
men about Islam.
Aiii) The role of the Mosques
Mosques are also used as community centres where people can get married as you can in a
church but they will have Islamic vows rather than Christian traditional vows although they may
be very similar. Mosques sometimes hold evening schools sp that particularly children may
have Islamic education in an non Islamic country ( E.g. learning to read and write Arabic and
understanding the teachings of Islam and the Qu ran ). During the month of Ramadan an area
of the Mosque is set aside for people who cannot afford to buy food, break their fast with food
provided by the Mosque, the breaking of fast is called Iftar. In many Mosques there are charity
boxes for Muslims to donate Zakah to either the Mosque or to the poor. All Muslims are obliged
to donate at least 2.5% of their wealth in order to help to develop the Mosque so that more people
can attend the Mosque for prayer and for education on Islam.
Another role of a Mosque is to provide Islamic education so that the younger generation can be
educated on Islam. This is to ensure that when older

How Is Naruto Portrayed In Dawn Of The Arcana
Comparing Manga Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto is a Manga about a young ninja in training and
his battle against the forces of evil in his quest to become the next Hokage. Dawn of the Arcana by
Rei Toma is a Manga about a young princess who is forced to marry to stop to rival nations from
going to war. Both Naruto and Dawn of the Arcana entertain audiences through strong characters,
symbols and emotions. This is evident throughout Naruto. Especially in the action see as you can
see the emotions on the characters faces such as determination. In Dawn of the Arcana you can see
different emotions on the face of the characters instead of determination there is despair in their
faces. Both Naruto and Dawn of the Arcana have unique characters that are symbolised through the

Both of the main characters fit into stereotypes but in many aspects also break these stereotypes.
Naruto fits the stereotype of a young boy in the fact that he is a trouble making and is out
seeking adventure. He is very violent and breaks the stereotype of a young boy in the fact that
he is a ninja and that he has superpowers. Nakaba in Dawn of the Arcana is a young princess and
she fits that stereotype better than Naruto fits his stereotype of a boy. Nakaba has all things that
a stereotypical princess has, servants, guards, a castle and royal attire. But she still does break
the stereotype of a young princess in many ways. Most princess aren t forced to marry in order to
stop a war and Nakaba is much too violent to be a princess. Both of these characters can be related
to be their audiences but offer unique qualities to keep the reader

Colonialism And Imperialism In Latin America
Throughout the first seven weeks of class, there were numerous readings on the effects of
colonization and imperialism. All the authors wrote about different points, using terms such as
formal and informal colonies, settler mortality rate, modernization and dependency theory, the
scramble for Africa, and more. They each have different arguments but all accurately mention the
strong after effects colonialismand imperialism have on formerly conquered states. These processes
are exploitative, hinder state growth, and create devastating and long term problems.
Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James Robinson explain the reasoning behind the different
types of colonies. They believe that there are two main types of colonies: settler and extractive. ...

Contrasted with formal empires, which have territories directly under control of the colonizer,
informal empires control countries indirectly by using their economies. A notable example of this
would be India during British imperialism. Before India was even a colony, it was controlled
through the British East India Company, which eventually did turn into direct colonization.
Informal empires are generated because many developing countries are forced to rely on a major
power in order to be economically stable. Another author, Walter Rodney, similarly agrees that this
system is unfair. His dependency theory, which counteracts Rostow s modernization theory, states
that many struggling countries will never get to fully develop because rich states will always find
a way to get richer, making poor states poorer. This unjust system is often the lingering effect of
imperialism and colonization because a formerly controlled country still relies on their mother
country even after they gain

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Heat Pump
The above diagrams illustrates how easy it is to utilise the key components but to reverse the
process i.e. to pump heat out rather than in, thus becoming an air conditioning unit (more correctly
called a cooling unit).
All the main components remain same with just the flow reversed (via the 4 way reversing valves)
and some additional minor components (e.g. check valves and specific expansion valve).
Simultaneous heating and cooling
The Heat Pump can be designed and configured as a multi mode machine.
To generate only hot water from ambient air
To simultaneously generate hot water and cooling energy.
To generate only cooling for comfort
Hotels and hospitals continuously need air conditioning, and therefore on a multimode ... Show

Water to Water (W W).
Water to Air (W A).
Water Source (iii. iv.) can be further subdivided:
a.Closed Loop: this is the most common form of Ground source system when buried.
b.Open Loop: much less common than closed loop ground source (e.g. ground Aquifer; open lake,
river or sea).
This sort of unit designation would lead to better description and slightly less confusion. It also
highlights that the key difference between water source heat pumps which work on closed and
open loops in the ground is the temperature they work at rather than the medium itself (which is the
same water).
3Based on Motive / generating power input.
Heat pumps are also sometimes designated by the fuel source used to drive the process which is
most usually electricity ( 95%), less commonly natural gas and much less commonly LPG.
4.Based on Operating Temperature
For heat pumps generating hot water in their condensers (i.e. Air or Water to Water units) another
sub description is the flow temperature capability.
BS EN 14511 2011high temperature heat pumps they are often referred to Very High Temperature
i.e. 65В°C.
For heat pumps producing warm air the temperature should not drop below 38В°C to prevent risk of

Why I Chose Nursing Home
The walls are closing in. The rooms are filling with more people. The air is stained with illness
and loneliness. Elderly persons are occupying the hallways doing nothing, while the nursing staff
stay behind desks and counters. Pity and relief flood the faces of many families as they leave their
relatives behind. Most people wouldn t describe a nursing homeas an ideal place to be, but I ve
grown fond of it. I spend some of my weekend free time here watching over my grandpa with my
mom. When it s not my turn feeding and talking to him, I focus on homework. Despite the sad
vibe of the home, this is the place where I realized I wanted to go into the medical field. After
witnessing how the staff barely treat the patients, and how, during the week, my familyand I have to
take turns coming in to feed my grandpa, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to become a
doctor and help save lives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

go to a great college with an even greater medical program, study aspects of health and medicine,
and help patients. There are so many beautiful things in the world, but I love the art behind
science, health, and medicine. I could prescribe the sick some medication to assist with their
conditions. I could comfort patients in hospitals and ask about their day, so they know at least
one person cares. I could help surgeons in the operating room to hopefully save a person from
death. I could research the human body and generate new conditions and cures, all with science and
medicine. The list is endless and I love the

The Hurt Locker Brian Turner Analysis
For the most part all people carry a baggage weather it be stress, regret or an addiction etc. In
addition certain weights are harder to put down. Singularly any dependency can lead to an abyss
where one is just a by stander , with no control. Consequently addiction Is the gateway to that
feeling of having no control. Brian Turner in The Hurt Locker illustrates the addiction that
coincides with war through his use of metaphor s. Accordingly, war has always deplored a person
in to the events that took place while in battle. Consequently Turner s poem touched the hearts of
war veterans since they too felt this at some point if they do not still. Soldiers were merely slaves
to the war in Iraq. Wherefore as the labors in the past were slaves

Prevention And Intervention Strategies For Vietnam Veterans
Reserve and National Guard members, who report combat exposure, were more likely to
experience new onset heavy drinking, binge drinking, and alcohol related problems, thereby
greatly increasing their risk for suicidal behaviors (Frueh Smith, 2012). McCarl (2013) states that
redeployment and multiple deployments can further compound a service member s already fragile
state of mind if sent back into combat without fully recovering from the physical and mental
wounds of the previous deployment (p. 410). Veterans who have reported killing in war had twice
the odds of suicidal ideation (Maguen et al, 2015). In a study performed with Vietnam veterans,
sixteen of nineteen suicideattempters (82%) had felt out of control as a result of excessive fear or
rage during their tours of duty, including situations in which their anger led to their killing
noncombatant civilians (Hendin, 2014, p. 584).
Prevention and Intervention Strategies Suicide among veterans is a national concern and suicide
prevention is a priority for the VHA. In concern for the health and well being of military service
members and veterans, congress has mandated implementation of a comprehensive VHA suicide
prevention program. The VHA is the only large health care organization to assess suicide mortality
among its entire patient population (McCarthy et al, 2009). VA and Mental Health Programs.

The Importance Of Diversity In Language Learning
Our understanding of language, as languages educators becomes part of our professional stance
and, as such, influences our curriculum, planning and classroom pedagogies. Teachers who view
language simply as code make acquiring grammar and vocabulary the primary, if not the only, goal
of language learning. Within such a limited approach, students do not begin to engage with language
as a communicative reality but simply as an intellectual exercise or as a work requiring
memorising. It is primarily a conventional symbol system concerned with communication or
coorperation between people (Lyons, 1981) Individual and social (Gee Hayes, 2011) people talk
like others and yet all have their own style (Bakhtin, 1981, 1986). Every language shares the same
basic design properties nouns, verbs, sentences, and clauses (Chomsky, 1965).
Language is not just a set of rules that tells us how to talk with the correct grammar. A cognitive
phenomenon a set of rules in our minds or brains that tells us how to speak grammatically (Clark,
1996) and Cannot be thought of as only a system of formal elements; have to take into account its
functions (Brumfit, 1994)
Variety is the spice of life . Diversity makes life interesting and gives it all its flavour. This
phrase comes from William Cowper s poem, The Task (1785). I believe in this saying as it is
totally true and as a current Early Childhood Educator, I am embedding awareness and appreciation

My Perfect Year In School
A Perfect Year in School
I will always will remember when I was 14 years old and I was in High School, freshman year,
we often got off earlier than what hour schedule show. What we usually did when that happened
was going to the houses of the school mates, go and play soccer in the courts, go to the movies
without the permission of our parents.
When we went to a house of a school mate we usually buy a lot of food, like fry food, play music,
video games, our favorite video game was soccer, if we didn t have electricity we used to play
dominoes like the old times. We hate when we didn t have electricity it was one day with
electricity and one day without electricity typically from my country. I think that we were already
accustomed to the day to day of our country, something crazy.
When we could spend some money we used to go to the movies, we always watch horror movies
to make fun of our faces. The movie theater was one hour from our school. We usually take taxis,
usually four taxis. When we arrived to the movie theater everybody will start yelling each other
and everybody was looking at us. Sometimes when people look at our group like What is wrong
with this kids . Before enter to the room of the movies we will buy popcorn and candy. When we
enter to the room in the movies we will take sit, everybody in the same road, after that we will start
throwing some popcorn to some people I remember when a friend said Hey let s start a popcorn

Luxury Brand Marketing
LUXURY BRAND MARKETING
What is LUXURY?
While the word luxury is used in daily lives to refer to certain lifestyle, the underlying construct s
definition is consumer and situation specific. If you earn less than 15000 a month, a pair of
reebok shoes would be a really big luxury item for you. On the other hand, if you are going to a
party with some big wigs a $100,000 car may not be a luxury. The word luxury originates from the
Latin term luxus signifying, soft or extravagant living, indulgence, sumptuousness or opulence
The meaning of luxury is extremely subjective and multidimensional in nature. It depends on
dimension such as high price, high quality, uniqueness, exclusivity etc.

without any noise. The socialite model of marketing targets the guest lists minus the hard sell, he
says.

Space Travel Persuasive Essay
Humans have always been interested in space and the wonder in which it may hold. In the past,
humans worshiped the stars as if they were gods while also studying their position to give them
guidance for their lives. Their interested in space has fathered the desire to know more. Today,
space has been seen by many as the new frontier or the home beyond earth. Society have even
taken a step forward through the creation of stories in books and movies based of the idea of
humans living in space and the present of alliances. Yet there is still controversy on the need to
continue space explorationwhen our own planet has so many detrimental problems. There is an
ongoing debate on whether not the money used for space travel could be better beneficially use
for other causes. It is true that space exploration costs billions of dollars a year alone according to

is that without space exploration many of the innovations that we have today would not have

The Design And Aesthetic Appeal
The design and aesthetic appeal between the two models was uncanny. Patented features such as
rubber banding, in which a screen image bounces slightly when a user tries to scroll past the
bottom, were identical. Same with pinch to zoom, which allows users to manipulate image size by
pinching the thumb and forefinger together on the screen. And on and on. We look at Samsung s
record of patent infringement, among other ruthless business tactics, and explains why Apple might
win the battles but still lose the war. Samsung threatened if any claims for patent infringement were
thrown their way they would retaliate with the same charges. If Apple executives pursued a claim
against Samsung for stealing the iPhone, Samsung would come right back at them with a theft
claim of its own. The battle lines were drawn. In the months and years that followed, Apple and
Samsung would clash on a scale almost unprecedented in the business world, costing the two
companies more than a billion dollars and engendering millions of pages of legal papers, multiple
verdicts and rulings, and more hearings.
Patent infringement is unlawful and thus there is a necessary obligation to avoid it. Samsung was
found guilty on 6 of the 7 patent infringement cases and Apple was awarded 600 million dollars in
damages from Samsung for the infringement battle, however Samsung essentially won the war. The
Samsung brand had become a household name, with a huge percentage of the industry s consumers

The Theory And The Coherence Theory Essay
A central concern in the study of epistemology is what truth is. In general, it would seem intuitively
wrong to claim that something is known if that claim to knowledge was not true. However,
identifying what truth is and what it means for a proposition to be true has remained contentious
and unclear. While some philosophers argue that it is unreasonable to expect truthto be accounted
for by a single definition or necessary conditions (Sher, 2013), others state that theories of truth are
able to answer what it is for something to be true (Hack, 1978; Audi, 1988; Feldman, 2003).
The two main theories that will be analysed in this paper are the correspondence theory and the
coherence theory. Put simply, the former argues that a proposition is true if and only if it
corresponds or relates to facts, while the latter claims that for a proposition to be true it must
cohere with a set of beliefs (Walker, 1989).
While both theories are positioned as competing ideas about how it can be determined whether or
not a belief is true, the paper argues that the correspondence and coherence theories are insufficient
to explain the meaning of truth. Instead, the paper follows Strawson s performative theory and
claims that truth should be understood as an act of agreeing with or accepting a statement.
There are parameters to this paper. To keep the discussion relevant to the two main theories of truth,
the paper has excluded the pragmatic theory of truth and its claim that beliefs are

Bubble Gum
Have you ever wondered who invented bubble gum, or why it s pink? How do you go about
getting the answers to these questions? Easy. Think way, way back, not to prehistoric times but
close, 1928. Popular With Children, Unpopular with Parents and Teachers. The first known
bubble gum appeared in 1906, and was a dud. Known as Blibber Blubber, it was sticky, brittle,
and insufficiently cohesive. In 1928, an accountant, Walter Diemer, invented an improved version
of bubble gum. The only food coloring he had on hand was pink, so for many years, pink was the
common color of bubble gums. Diemer arranged to market the bubble gum in Philadelphia candy
stores and the product became wildly popular with children. Fleer Company purchased the recipe,...

developed for tobacco chewers and snuff users. The chewing gums served as a drug delivery

increasingly stringent regulations against smoking in public places created a new market for
nicotine containing gums. Such medicinal gums might help in nicotine withdrawal. The
objective was to have the addicted smoker chew rather than smoke, with the hope that eventually

Advancements in the Development of Prosthetic Devices
Prosthetic devices are needed by many people throughout the world every year due to injuries and
health complications. However, choosing the correct prosthetic and being able to afford the device
can seem a bit challenging. Prosthetic devices are made up of many different components and
different prostheticsare made for different lifestyles. Designing, making, and assembling these
pieces can be very costly. In fact, a prosthetic leg can range anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000,
and even the most expensive prosthetics withstands use for only three to five years (Mohney).
Regardless of the current cost, technology is advancing and we are developing new ways to
make these devices. Prosthetic devices are improving by becoming more technologically
advanced, cheaper, and more widely available. The history of prosthetics dates back many years

Some of the characteristics of graduate writing are the level of detail that is added to the
writing, the length of writing, and the proper use of citation and references. Graduate level
writing adds more detail to any study. Undergraduate students may write about a point with two
or three topics but a graduate student will take those two or three topics and break them down
into subtopics. Undergraduate students typically are typically advised to write a paper that
consist of five hundred words or so but a graduate student will have to write a twelve hundred to
fifteen hundred word essay on a consistent basis to ensure proper knowledge of the tasks and
subjects being taught.. The use of proper citation and references is critical for the graduate
student. The use of direct quote under 40 words such as (APA, 2010, p. 5) Direct quotations must

Executive Summary
Once brewed in ancient Egypt thousands of years ago, beer is now brewed in Palestine. One of
the first micro breweries in the Middle East, the brewing company was established in 1994 and is
located in Taybeh a Palestinian Christian village in the West Bank located 20 miles from
Jerusalem. The first beer was produced in 1995.
Taybeh beer was the first Palestinian product to be franchised in Germany, where it was brewed
and bottled for sale in Europe. Taybeh beer is considered unique because it is made according to
the German purity law of 500 years ago which states that the beer should be made out of four basic
natural ingredients: malt, hops, pure water, and yeast, following every aspect of the German
brewing process. Taybeh beer produces three varieties: Golden, Light, and Dark.
The Taybeh brewery was born in the years of optimism that followed the Oslo peace accords in
the mid 1990s, a time when Palestinians and Israelis hoped an end to their conflict was in sight.
Nadim Khoury had left the village years before and was living in Boston in the United States,
where he had taught himself to brew beer at home. His family encouraged him to return to the
Palestine. Nadim is the production manager and CEO, his brother David is the financial manager
and sister Grace is the marketing manager. All of them have high degrees in business administration.

Puritan Community In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Nathaniel Hawthorne writes The Scarlet Letter to exhibit the inflexibility of the Puritan community.
Hawthorne embodies a strong female character: Hester Prynne who was married before has an
affair with Dimmesdale, a lover, bearing a child. Hawthorne s use of an allusion to the bible helps
one understand the rigidity of the puritan community. Although both committed sin, Hester
acknowledges her sin whereas Dimmesdale is apprehensive and worries about social acceptance.

The Photography Of Caitlyn Hatch
Caitlyn Hatch is a twenty year old student from Amherst, Massachusetts, who spends her
weekends roaming abandoned buildings all over the western part of the state. What she does in
these buildings is take photographs, however, she has not always been interested in the medium.
Photography had never been her first choice for what she would possibly study at university, and
she never imagined it as being something she would want to pursue professionally. Originally, she
was intent on being a graphic designer. She had begun to play around with an online photoshop
app, editing pictures taken by other people and was sure graphic design was for her, that is, until
she got her first camera. She got her first camera at age fourteen for Christmas, one of the big black
Nikon digital cameras. While she had never seriously considered photographybefore, she began to
play around with her new camera. The novelty of it all coupled with the support of her father, who
himself was an amateur nature photographer throughout his twenties, started the fire in her to take

signed up for a photo class elective during her second semester of ninth grade. Initially, this class
was not what she had expected, We [the students] didn t even get to do any actual photography at

Big Data And Business Innovation
Introduction In this modern age of constant technological advancement and business innovation, a
relatively new feature has unlocked more potential for businesses to improve: Big Data. Big Data
can be defined in many different ways. It has become important primarily for business decision
making.
One aspect of business that Big Data is now affecting is the auditing profession. Many
opportunities exist for Big Data to improve the standard auditing procedure. However, certain
challenges may prevent it from assisting in its full potential. In addition to challenges in the
auditing profession, Big Data also has its own ethical implications. In this report, all of these facets
of Big Data will be discussed in detail.
Definitions Big Data refers to the large amounts of data that businesses deal with on a day to
day basis. Big Data can be defined in many ways, but this is one of the most general definitions.
One of the primary uses businesses have for Big Data is to provide assistance for decision
making. In order for Big Data to be effective, organizations must utilize the data to their advantage.
The quality of information is what matters, not the quantity. Organizations may have virtually
unlimited amounts of data to work with, but they must locate the helpful portions of data in order
for it to be effective and serve its purpose. In addition, some data may not be helpful at the present
moment in time, but will be needed for analysis in the future ( What Is Big Data? ,

The Age Of Enlightenment, And Social Revolutions
The Age of Enlightenment attacked the churches on issues which have been continuously going
on in the past. Which sparked the revolutions, and created a drastic change in the way the people
were governed. The colonists demanded a change in their social structures because they were tired
of absolute monarchies, which were selfish and believed in the divine right to rule. Meaning that
their power was specifically given to them by God. Most rulers did little to nothing to actually
make a beneficial change for the people and instead invested most of their time to themselves,
rather than using the time to create new ways to get rid of economic crises. This lead for their
people to become extremely needy and used any chance of help that came to them. The
Enlightenment was a period of both hardships and social growth, which made the people s
perspectives towards the world different, and spreaded Ideas which created Revolutions and made
philosophers come up with different ways of reasoning and influenced the Enlightenment in almost
everything they did the outcome reshaped the world and them a voice. Many philosophers who
heavily influenced the Enlightenment ideas which sparked the revolution, caused people to think
for themselves. A philosopher named John Lockestudied human reasoning and agreed that people
were indeed reasonable and moral. Locke s ideas on people having natural rights, which were

Winter Sky Creative Writing
The winter sky slept peacefully. It s cheeks glowed an eerie grey, engulfing the sunlight which

Daily, she relapsed into her memories. The musky scent of tobacco on his diesel soaked skin. The

The Asian Carp is a collective name for four types of fish: the Bighead carp, Black carp, Silver

are considered a threat to freshwater aquatic environments. The Common carp which are the
Cyprinus carpio have been around for over 100 years however they are not the one s causing the

Adam and Eve
The term subordination is used frequently in the context of Trinitarian discussion, and has a
clearly defined usage. Theologians of the past have spoken in some sense of the subordination of
the Son and the Spirit within the boundaries of orthodoxy. However, how do we define it when it
comes to women and the church? The story of Adam and Eve is a great place to start. It brings with
it all of the elements of love, respect, partnership, and subordination all rolled together. When I first
started to research this paper I was under the misguided assumption that Adam and Eve went down
together. As my paper evolved you will see I learned a little bit differently.... Show more content on

Feminists argue that women have had to struggle to overcome the patriarchally structured churches.
While scholars in ecclesiastical history and related fields have undoubtedly been influenced by the
huge developments in both women s history and gender history in the larger arena of historical
scholarship, they have also been influenced by the questions raised by feminist theologians about
the viability of women remaining within the Churches and the outworking of Christian doctrine in
the women s lives.
Origins have therefore become important to some feminist scholars, especially those of faith, in
a rather distinctive way, as they have sought to bring to light and , in some cases, discover
evidence for the ways in which the Christian tradition has in at least some of its roots an equal
place for women (Shaw, 2004). The place of women and, indeed, men in the early Churches is a
historical subject which is seen to have relevance to individuals and the Churches today: while
Churches are still debating the validity of the ordination of women, and even the extent to which
laywomen can participate in the worship and ministry of the Church, it is not possible to shy away
from this.
One of the great strengths of feminist scholarship has been to show that no scholar works from a
neutral starting point: the selection of topic and the evidence on which historians choose to focus
are shaped by their presuppositions. Ecclesiastical historians, influenced by their

The Effects Of Digital Media On Child Development
Throughout the years, technology has impacted our daily lives. Specifically, digital media, which
is our smart phones, laptops, video games, and anything else that is computerized. We rely on
digital media through everyday tasks because it has proven to be beneficial in navigating and
connecting us with the world, however there is great debate whether our technology has any
detrimental effect on our cognitive development and skills. As we know, technology has become a
great part of our identity. Although, there is evidence that digital media has various benefits and
risks for our cognition. Nevertheless, it remains a topic of discussion since technology continues to
thrive and become part of our daily routine.
Chassiakos and colleagues (2016) discusses the costs and benefits of digital and social media use
in children and adolescents. There are various ways digital and social media may impact the child s
development. The authors explain that digital media may improve cognitive and social
development for young children depending on the amount of exposure, type of digital content, and
active parental guidance. Additionally, the authors explain how digital media advocates social
engagement and community that helps teenager s development and self esteem. However, the
authors provide plenty of evidence that the use of digital and social media may be linked to the risk
of obesity, cognitive development, safety, mental health, behavioral risks, and sleep deprivation.

An Externality is when costs or benefits of certain activities spill or fall into third parties that have
nothing to do with the initial situation in hand; its like a side effect or consequence of an activity
that affects other parties who did not choose to incur that cost or benefit.
Like you can see there can be either costs, or benefits that affect those third parties. When it is a
cost that is imposed on third parties, it is called a negative externality; negative externalities occur
when a decision or activity imposes costs on anyone that is not involved in the making of the

When the government gets involved and taxes goods and services, it raises revenue for the
government, decreases the quantity of goods produced and consumed and therefore, both
consumers and the producer of the good will pay, splitting the costs of the tax and leveling up with
society s.
Fees and regulations are similar to taxes. The government charge all firms the same fee and to set
the same standard for all firms. This will achieve the same level of emission reduction at a lower
cost for all firms and firms will have an incentive to reduce their emissions.
There are also solutions to a positive externality. That is to get the decision maker to internalize the
external effect. The difference with this and the negative externality is that with the negative
externality they would have to try to get the decision maker to see higher costs and with the
positive externality the government needs to somehow make the decision more appealing to the
private decision maker.
A great example of this is getting a degree; it might not be as important or beneficial to you to get
a certain degree but the benefits that you could give the society with that degree can be significant,
so the government creates scholarships and incentives to motivate you and make it easier for you to
get an education and ultimately be part of the working society.

The outside pressures were the main reasons the boys acted out the way they did. An example is
in Dead Poets Society, Neil had wanted to take an easier class at the beginning of the school

become an actor, it resulted in Neil taking his own life. The boys in Dead Poets Society were
forced to do whatever their parents wanted them to do. The pressures in A Separate Peace are
different, but they are still pressures that impact the way these boys act and think. One very
important pressure in the novel A Separate Peace is the war. The war played such a crucial event
throughout the story because it was the main reason they were all fidgety and worried at times,
they never wanted to be drafted into the war. Even though they knew they did not want to be in

Indigenous Australians are the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals of Australia,

social orders in Australia, each with its own particular blend of societies, traditions and dialects. In
present day Australia these gatherings are further separated into nearby communities. At the season

120 to 145 of these stay being used, and everything except 13 are thought to be endangered.
Aboriginal individuals today generally communicate in English, with Aboriginal expressions and

The Importance Of Love For Family
The ideal choice would always to be able to have both, but like the famous saying goes, you can t
have cake and eat it too . Love is something that will be attained by those close to you, such as
relatives and significant others, but respect is something that can be earned by all. To have love
without respect, rather, is possessive and unhealthy. In addition, lovecan also push people act and
behave differently than they would normally. Through life, many will encounter many different
people and form many different bonds. However, only few will grow to truly love all the people
they meet within their lifetime. Of course, one would believe that love for family members and
relatives will be unconditional, and selfless. Moreover, if one is to look back the relationships
that is between those family members, there is a big realization. These particular relationships
that are formed, especially with the elder generations, we have an undeniable respect and
admiration for them. This may have not been the initial purpose but is still an effect of
establishing boundaries. Boundaries are essential for any relationship that one may have with any
other individual. A line that shall not be crossed, if you will. Thus, whether it is a parent, an aunt,
or any loved one, one will know how far to go with that said individual. On the same account,

Also, there is such a thing called supply and demand, and the consumer chooses what is needed or

Perhaps the greatest comparisons can be made in how the two states expanded, grew, and changed
point of view within the time period. The second comparison point would be what role religion
played in to the time period, with the scope of the protestant uprising in the late 15th century and
the change in what citizens perceived the role of god and religion in society. Also important with
this is the role that the Millet system played within the Ottoman Empire specifically when

about how they could marry the prince charming at the end of the movie. Not only Disney movies
however have been changing towards better gender representation, more movies have recently been
having female main characters and consequently employing the female gaze for the audience. What
this means is that when the main character of a film is a man the camera employs a male gaze,
which is looking at and focusing on what a man would. As the

Advantages And Benefits Of Linux
пЃ¶Problem Statement
Do you think that in today s era Linux as a operating system has taken a lead in IT Industry
elaborate and compare with windows operating system.
Linux
Linux is a UNIX base operating system. Its original creator was a Finnish student name Linus
Torvalds , although being open source it has change a great deal since its original conception. It
belongs to nobody, and is free to download and use. Any changes to it are open for all to adopt,
and as a result it has developed into a very powerful OS that is rapidly gaining in popularity
worldwide, particularly among those seeking an alternative to Windows.

Advantages and Benefits of Linux
Affordable
If you re basing your decision on price, then Linux is right for you. There is no comparing
Windows to Linux when it comes to money; we all know that Windows is expensive, while Linux
can be obtained free, a huge cost saving in anyone s book. All you have to do is go to the webpage
and click where it says click here and you have Linux ready to go.
Security
Another known fact about Linux is their security is much stronger than other operating systems;
you don t need home security systems for your computer when you use the Linux system, and you
can browse the net without any serious concerns.
Versatility
The biggest plus for me when it comes to Linux is the ability for me to change what I want and
how I want it especially on my desktop, the versatility is easy and amazing and I m not forced to
go with the design given to me. It s similar to when you are shopping around for remodeling
estimates, but you know exactly what you want and don t need someone deciding for

Case Study Anthony Stoolarz
The Case for Anthony Stolarz. The Flyers selected Anthony Stolarz in the 2rd round 45th
overall in 2012. Stolarz was born in Edison New Jersey which is only hour away from the Wells
Fargo Centre after being draft by the flyers Stolarz attended the University of Nebraska Omaha but
left after only playing 8 games for the Mavericks. Stolarz would find he s way to London Ontario
where Stolarz would play 20 games for the Knights and post a 2.29 GAA and a .920 SVS. Stolarz
and the London Knights would go on to the J. Ross Robertson Cup (OHL champions). Stolarz
posted a 2.53 GAA and a .923 SVS in 18 playoff games. Stolarz hit a rough patch in the Memorial
cup in 4 games Stolarz had a 4.50 GAA and a .872 SVS. The Next season Stolarz returned to...

GAA and a .916 SVS. Stolarz has started this year off with a bang in 8 games Stolarz has a 2.39
GAA and a .927 SVS. With a lower body Injury set to keep Flyers Goalie Michael Neuvirth out
for 4 6 weeks. Anthony Stolarz will backup Steve Mason and most likely get into some games.
Anthony Stolarz is currently in his third professional season and will need to be protected by the
Philadelphia. The question is will General Ron Hextall chose to do so? The NHL expansion
rules allow for NHL teams to only protect 1 goaltender and with Stolarz waiver exempted and a
RFA Las Vegas could chose to select Stolarz and groom him into a starting goalie with the option
to still send him down to AHL to develop. This is an interesting story the Flyers will need to
answer before the Expansion draft. With both Mason and Neuvirth UFA s at the end of the
season would Las Vegas take a gamble on taking their rights hoping to get a deal done or would a

Drafting And Negotiating Negative Covenants
[The Credit Agreement] [Representations, Warranties and Covenants] 1. Affirmative, Negative and
Financial Covenants 2. Drafting and Negotiating Negative Covenants (Credit Agreement) The
negative covenants and the related definitions are among the most heavily negotiated provisions in
a credit agreement. In order to get comfortable funding loans to a borrower, lenders require
restrictions on a borrower s operations that will hopefully help keep management on a path that
will allow them to repay the loans at maturity. Lenders also use the negative covenants as an early
warning system that forces borrowers to seek amendments from lenders before materially altering
their business operations in a way restricted by the covenants. By... Show more content on

Generally, each negative covenant has the same basic structure: a general prohibition followed
by listed exceptions referred to as baskets or carve outs. The exceptions can be divided into
exemptions for specific types of transactions and general baskets that provide greater flexibility
but are usually subject to caps. The negotiation of negative covenants at the business level is often
is focused on the appropriate dollar caps and restrictions on the general baskets and any unique
company specific exceptions the borrower may request. There is no one suite of negative
covenants and exceptions that will work for every borrower and will need to draft customized
exceptions where necessary to ensure that the credit agreement allows the borrower to operate
normally without constantly having to check the credit agreement to make sure they have not
inadvertently violated its terms. In negotiating the exceptions, counsel for each of the borrower and
the lenders should perform diligence to understand the operational needs of the borrower as well as
its capital structure and its near term plans for growth. The arrangers will perform their own
business and financial diligence to determine what protections the lenders will need in order
participate in the transaction and, ultimately, the arranger s view on what is marketable at the

Alfred Hitchcock s Specific Audience Reached by Psycho and The Birds
For this piece of coursework I am going to compare and contrast two Alfred Hitchcock Films in
order to show how Hitchcock reached a specific target audience. The films, to which I will be
referring are Psycho (1960) and The Birds (1963) , I will illustrate the techniques, which the
director (Alfred Hitchcock) used to appeal to specific audiences. In particular I will be paying close
attention to the shower scene from Psycho and the school scene from The Birds .
I will firstly give you an overview of what happens in each film. Psycho is a horror/thriller. It stars
Janet Leigh, John Gavin, and Anthony Perkins. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Melanie Daniels decides to take some birds to Mitch s house in Bodega Bay. When she arrives she
is attacked by a gull however after this accident the attacks become more frequent and seemingly
more co ordinated.
Alfred Hitchcock had to abide by the Hays code in order to make the film worthy of release in
America. Compared to today s Hollywood censorship code the hays code seems extremely strict.
Most of the successful may have had to lose some of their most effective and audience attracting
scenes in order to be released at the time of the Hays code.
The following are some of rules of the Hays Code:
No explicit Nudity may be shown.
Audience should not be made to sympathise with wrong doers.
A wrong doer should not be shown to get away with any wrong doing.
In addition, blasphemy and bad language (even words such as Damn or Hell ) were forbidden as
was excessive, lustful kissing and embracing: which was considered totally unacceptable.
Alfred Hitchcock managed to keep within all these boundaries yet he was able to produce films
which audiences of today, when rules are far more relaxed, find shocking.
There is no nudity shown. Even when Marion is showering in the shower scene no part of her
body was shown that was not necessarily needed. Jus to be safe she wore a skin suit so that Alfred

Daubert Standard Research Paper
Across the United States it has been debated, for several years, which standard should be utilized
in the court system: the Frye standard or the Daubert standard. It basically comes down to
whether expert testimony should be presented in court based on wide acceptance or scientific
proof. Both articles explained the Daubert standard as basically a stricter Frye standard, which
could also be gathered from their definitions. It is due to the stricter and more outlined
restrictions that the Daubert standard should be utilized in the Florida court system. The
Daubert standard bases its criteria for expert testimony on proven scientific fact and reliability.
Just because an idea is widely accepted, does not necessarily mean that the idea is true. The best
example of this would be that historically the Earth was believed to be flat. As science,
technology, and understanding advanced, this theory was discovered to not hold true. In a court
of a law, a mistake like this could be the difference between someone s life and death. The
Simplified Guide to Forensic Evidence Admissibility and Expert Witnesses article discussed the
polygraph, which even by Frye standard was not admissible in court. Today, many attorneys would
be able to present a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another reason that the Daubert standard supersedes the Frye standard, is because it is more
concrete which does not open it to interpretation. The Frye standard only basis its criteria on
whether it is of value in understanding the evidence. Whereas the Daubert standard additionally
narrows the criteria down to whether the testimony is based on sufficient data, whether there is
reliable principle, and whether the data was obtained reliably. The Daubert standard can be
pinpointed to the concept of

Uses And Uses Of Photosynthesis
Introduction:
Photosynthesis is a process that plants use to create glucose by utilizing sunlight, carbon dioxide,
and water. The pigments in a plant absorb light by way of photosynthesis and each pigment can
absorb different colors but will reflect green light because it does not really absorb it. Therefore,
plants always appear to have a green color. Plants have four pigments that were tested in this
exercise called carotenoids such as carotenes/xanthophyll, also pigments chlorophyll a and
chlorophyll b. Chlorophyll a absorbs blue/violet light, chlorophyll b absorbs red/blue light, and
carotene absorbs blue green/violet colors. Oxygen is after product of photosynthesis along with
glucose which is used later in cellular respiration. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One table was used to describe how photosynthesis would occur with regular white light and one
that was covered which measured the rate of cellular respiration. The other table describes the rate
of photosynthesis and gross photosynthesis of green/white light. The table for green/white light was
measured with accuracy with a volumeter tube. By analyzing the data, it can be confirmed that
green light did not perform photosynthesis as fast as white light and white light performed
photosynthesis creating oxygen more rapidly than the tube that had no light.
Discussion:
The second hypothesis on the rate of photosynthesis (green/white light) was correct because the
data in the table above states that the rate of photosynthesis (which was measured in volumeters)
was higher in the tube that was exposed to white light. The green light produced much slower rate
results for photosynthesis because the color was not really absorbed very well. Plants use all
colors of light to use photosynthesis except for green light. This means all wavelengths of light are
used to make oxygen except for the green wavelength. One source of error in this experiment was
the results for photosynthesis with light. The foil kept

How Did Nurse Brink Design
1. What type of care modality did Nurse Brink design? Nurse Brink designed a care modality
that follows the functional model. With the functional model, care is provided by all members
of a nursing team through different tasks (Yoder Wise, 2015). Nurse Brink uses this model as
each RN, LPN, and UAP are assigned a specific job. The jobs that each member of the nursing
team has, correspond to their scope of practice (Yoder Wise, 2015). By having each member
complete their job, they re supporting how a patient s care is provided. With this design, it allows
for each member of the team to work together in union. Though there may be a small number of
staff members, they still have a role and responsibility to meet the needs of all patients.
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the type of care delivery system? ... Show more

Since each member is not completing duties outside of their scope of practice, patient care is then
being performed in a safe manner. As Nurse Brink creates this system due to hospital budget cuts,
there would be a financial benefit to the budget problem. Though it would be a financial benefit, it
could cause frustration to the workers due to having less staff and increasing their workload. A
disadvantage to the delivery system, is that there would not be enough staff members capable to
meet the needs of a large census of patients. As there are less RNs that would be able to complete
patient assessments, patient conditions could be negatively affected as less attention to their health

The School Of A Single School Corporation
It the past, many school corporations have consolidated, which has caused many small town
schools like Johnson township in Eckerty indiana, to absorbed and lose a part of their history .
there are two residents of Eckerty, Darius and Anthony Adams, who recall their fond memories of
the old Johnson Township Schoolin Crawford County. Few residents remember its consolidating to
a single school corporation, multiple grades and ages taught in just a few classrooms, or the
closing of Johnson Township School. The first Johnson Township School stood two stories but
collapsed in 1941. Five years passed before the construction workers finished the new school which

The well water was the nastiest water a person could drink, but it tasted pretty good if that person
was thirsty enough (Anthony Darius).
Johnson Township held all kinds of kids in one room even though they had different ages and
grades. The classroom accommodated kids from first to eighth grade. A preacher worked in the
school and the kids actually had bible study once a day. Two teachers taught all the kids for each
subject. (List) Instead of the children switching classes, the teachers had to move rooms. The
kids ages ranged from 8 to 16. It did not even matter what their age, they could be in any grade.
An example of this, a student listed as a fifth grader could be fifteen years old. School had four
sixteen year olds in the seventh grade. (List)
Adrian Cumings, one of the teachers, remembered as nice. She sold kids candy bars for one cent
instead of two. Clory Orden, a teacher, played games and interacted with the kids. Clory had a sister
named Edna ReSand who also taught at the same school, she lived in milltown at the time. Milm
Knight taught english and gym and lived in milltown. (Superintendent) For the class of physical
education, the kids went outside to play kickball, football, and baseball. For recess the kids played
ball, swing ad played tag and duck, duck, goose. That only lasted for thirty minutes which was not
as long as the kids now days have. The kids only had one or two pair of school clothes if they were

  • 2. Main Features of A Mosque Ai) Describe the main features of a mosque A mosque is mainly used as a place of worship for Muslims to pray to Allah. Not all mosques are the same, they vary from place to place. Some mosques are big and expensive whilst some other mosques are small and cheap. All mosques are different but are yet similar in some ways for example; all mosques are a place of worship. Some mosque have a tall minaret in which the Muezzin uses it to call the Adthaan, informing nearby Muslims that the time of prayer has come and they must quickly start their prayer. This is one of the most important features of a mosque because without the minaret the Muezzin would not be able to call out the Adthaan, prevent many Muslims being able to tell if it is time ... In many Mosques there are charity boxes for Muslims to donate Zakah to either the Mosque or to the poor. All Muslims are obliged to donate at least 2.5% of their wealth in order to help to develop the Mosque so that more people can attend the Mosque for prayer and for education on Islam. • 5. Colonialism And Imperialism In Latin America Throughout the first seven weeks of class, there were numerous readings on the effects of colonization and imperialism. All the authors wrote about different points, using terms such as formal and informal colonies, settler mortality rate, modernization and dependency theory, the scramble for Africa, and more. They each have different arguments but all accurately mention the strong after effects colonialismand imperialism have on formerly conquered states. These processes are exploitative, hinder state growth, and create devastating and long term problems. Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson, and James Robinson explain the reasoning behind the different types of colonies. They believe that there are two main types of colonies: settler and extractive. ... Contrasted with formal empires, which have territories directly under control of the colonizer, informal empires control countries indirectly by using their economies. A notable example of this would be India during British imperialism. Before India was even a colony, it was controlled through the British East India Company, which eventually did turn into direct colonization. Informal empires are generated because many developing countries are forced to rely on a major power in order to be economically stable. Another author, Walter Rodney, similarly agrees that this system is unfair. His dependency theory, which counteracts Rostow s modernization theory, states that many struggling countries will never get to fully develop because rich states will always find a way to get richer, making poor states poorer. This unjust system is often the lingering effect of imperialism and colonization because a formerly controlled country still relies on their mother country even after they gain ... Singularly any dependency can lead to an abyss where one is just a by stander , with no control. Consequently addiction Is the gateway to that feeling of having no control. Brian Turner in The Hurt Locker illustrates the addiction that coincides with war through his use of metaphor s. Accordingly, war has always deplored a person in to the events that took place while in battle. McCarl (2013) states that redeployment and multiple deployments can further compound a service member s already fragile state of mind if sent back into combat without fully recovering from the physical and mental wounds of the previous deployment (p. 410). Veterans who have reported killing in war had twice the odds of suicidal ideation (Maguen et al, 2015). • 10. The Importance Of Diversity In Language Learning Our understanding of language, as languages educators becomes part of our professional stance and, as such, influences our curriculum, planning and classroom pedagogies. Teachers who view language simply as code make acquiring grammar and vocabulary the primary, if not the only, goal of language learning. Within such a limited approach, students do not begin to engage with language as a communicative reality but simply as an intellectual exercise or as a work requiring memorising. It is primarily a conventional symbol system concerned with communication or coorperation between people (Lyons, 1981) Individual and social (Gee Hayes, 2011) people talk like others and yet all have their own style (Bakhtin, 1981, 1986). Every language shares the same basic design properties nouns, verbs, sentences, and clauses (Chomsky, 1965). Language is not just a set of rules that tells us how to talk with the correct grammar. A cognitive phenomenon a set of rules in our minds or brains that tells us how to speak grammatically (Clark, 1996) and Cannot be thought of as only a system of formal elements; have to take into account its functions (Brumfit, 1994) Variety is the spice of life . Diversity makes life interesting and gives it all its flavour. This phrase comes from William Cowper s poem, The Task (1785). • 18. The Theory And The Coherence Theory Essay A central concern in the study of epistemology is what truth is. In general, it would seem intuitively wrong to claim that something is known if that claim to knowledge was not true. However, identifying what truth is and what it means for a proposition to be true has remained contentious and unclear. While some philosophers argue that it is unreasonable to expect truthto be accounted for by a single definition or necessary conditions (Sher, 2013), others state that theories of truth are able to answer what it is for something to be true (Hack, 1978; Audi, 1988; Feldman, 2003). The two main theories that will be analysed in this paper are the correspondence theory and the coherence theory. Put simply, the former argues that a proposition is true if and only if it corresponds or relates to facts, while the latter claims that for a proposition to be true it must cohere with a set of beliefs (Walker, 1989). While both theories are positioned as competing ideas about how it can be determined whether or not a belief is true, the paper argues that the correspondence and coherence theories are insufficient to explain the meaning of truth. Instead, the paper follows Strawson s performative theory and claims that truth should be understood as an act of agreeing with or accepting a statement. There are parameters to this paper. To keep the discussion relevant to the two main theories of truth, the paper has excluded the pragmatic theory of truth and its claim that beliefs are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 21. Advancements in the Development of Prosthetic Devices Prosthetic devices are needed by many people throughout the world every year due to injuries and health complications. However, choosing the correct prosthetic and being able to afford the device can seem a bit challenging. Prosthetic devices are made up of many different components and different prostheticsare made for different lifestyles. Designing, making, and assembling these pieces can be very costly. In fact, a prosthetic leg can range anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000, and even the most expensive prosthetics withstands use for only three to five years (Mohney). Regardless of the current cost, technology is advancing and we are developing new ways to make these devices. Prosthetic devices are improving by becoming more technologically advanced, cheaper, and more widely available. The history of prosthetics dates back many years to when they were originally made around 1500 B.C. Prosthetic devices were originally used to take the place of limbs but had no other purpose. Most prosthetic devices during Roman times were just wooden or steel pegs (Patel). While scholars in ecclesiastical history and related fields have undoubtedly been influenced by the huge developments in both women s history and gender history in the larger arena of historical scholarship, they have also been influenced by the questions raised by feminist theologians about the viability of women remaining within the Churches and the outworking of Christian doctrine in the women s lives. Origins have therefore become important to some feminist scholars, especially those of faith, in a rather distinctive way, as they have sought to bring to light and , in some cases, discover evidence for the ways in which the Christian tradition has in at least some of its roots an equal place for women (Shaw, 2004). The place of women and, indeed, men in the early Churches is a historical subject which is seen to have relevance to individuals and the Churches today: while Churches are still debating the validity of the ordination of women, and even the extent to which laywomen can participate in the worship and ministry of the Church, it is not possible to shy away from this. One of the great strengths of feminist scholarship has been to show that no scholar works from a neutral starting point: the selection of topic and the evidence on which historians choose to focus are shaped by their presuppositions. When the government gets involved and taxes goods and services, it raises revenue for the government, decreases the quantity of goods produced and consumed and therefore, both consumers and the producer of the good will pay, splitting the costs of the tax and leveling up with society s. This will achieve the same level of emission reduction at a lower cost for all firms and firms will have an incentive to reduce their emissions. There are also solutions to a positive externality. That is to get the decision maker to internalize the external effect. The difference with this and the negative externality is that with the negative externality they would have to try to get the decision maker to see higher costs and with the positive externality the government needs to somehow make the decision more appealing to the private decision maker. A great example of this is getting a degree; it might not be as important or beneficial to you to get a certain degree but the benefits that you could give the society with that degree can be significant, so the government creates scholarships and incentives to motivate you and make it easier for you to get an education and ultimately be part of the working society. Anthony Stolarz will backup Steve Mason and most likely get into some games. Anthony Stolarz is currently in his third professional season and will need to be protected by the Philadelphia. The question is will General Ron Hextall chose to do so? The NHL expansion rules allow for NHL teams to only protect 1 goaltender and with Stolarz waiver exempted and a RFA Las Vegas could chose to select Stolarz and groom him into a starting goalie with the option to still send him down to AHL to develop. This is an interesting story the Flyers will need to answer before the Expansion draft. With both Mason and Neuvirth UFA s at the end of the season would Las Vegas take a gamble on taking their rights hoping to get a deal done or would a defenseman or forward be more Enticing for Las ... • 45. Drafting And Negotiating Negative Covenants [The Credit Agreement] [Representations, Warranties and Covenants] 1. Affirmative, Negative and Financial Covenants 2. Drafting and Negotiating Negative Covenants (Credit Agreement) The negative covenants and the related definitions are among the most heavily negotiated provisions in a credit agreement. In order to get comfortable funding loans to a borrower, lenders require restrictions on a borrower s operations that will hopefully help keep management on a path that will allow them to repay the loans at maturity. Lenders also use the negative covenants as an early warning system that forces borrowers to seek amendments from lenders before materially altering their business operations in a way restricted by the covenants. By... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Generally, each negative covenant has the same basic structure: a general prohibition followed by listed exceptions referred to as baskets or carve outs. The exceptions can be divided into exemptions for specific types of transactions and general baskets that provide greater flexibility but are usually subject to caps. The negotiation of negative covenants at the business level is often is focused on the appropriate dollar caps and restrictions on the general baskets and any unique company specific exceptions the borrower may request. There is no one suite of negative covenants and exceptions that will work for every borrower and will need to draft customized exceptions where necessary to ensure that the credit agreement allows the borrower to operate normally without constantly having to check the credit agreement to make sure they have not inadvertently violated its terms. In negotiating the exceptions, counsel for each of the borrower and the lenders should perform diligence to understand the operational needs of the borrower as well as its capital structure and its near term plans for growth. The arrangers will perform their own business and financial diligence to determine what protections the lenders will need in order participate in the transaction and, ultimately, the arranger s view on what is marketable at the proposed ... • 46. Alfred Hitchcock s Specific Audience Reached by Psycho and... Alfred Hitchcock s Specific Audience Reached by Psycho and The Birds For this piece of coursework I am going to compare and contrast two Alfred Hitchcock Films in order to show how Hitchcock reached a specific target audience. The films, to which I will be referring are Psycho (1960) and The Birds (1963) , I will illustrate the techniques, which the director (Alfred Hitchcock) used to appeal to specific audiences. In particular I will be paying close attention to the shower scene from Psycho and the school scene from The Birds . I will firstly give you an overview of what happens in each film. Psycho is a horror/thriller. It stars Janet Leigh, John Gavin, and Anthony Perkins. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Melanie Daniels decides to take some birds to Mitch s house in Bodega Bay. When she arrives she is attacked by a gull however after this accident the attacks become more frequent and seemingly more co ordinated. Alfred Hitchcock had to abide by the Hays code in order to make the film worthy of release in America. Compared to today s Hollywood censorship code the hays code seems extremely strict. Most of the successful may have had to lose some of their most effective and audience attracting scenes in order to be released at the time of the Hays code. The following are some of rules of the Hays Code: No explicit Nudity may be shown. Audience should not be made to sympathise with wrong doers. A wrong doer should not be shown to get away with any wrong doing. In addition, blasphemy and bad language (even words such as Damn or Hell ) were forbidden as was excessive, lustful kissing and embracing: which was considered totally unacceptable. Alfred Hitchcock managed to keep within all these boundaries yet he was able to produce films which audiences of today, when rules are far more relaxed, find shocking. There is no nudity shown. Even when Marion is showering in the shower scene no part of her body was shown that was not necessarily needed. Jus to be safe she wore a skin suit so that Alfred could justify ... • 47. Daubert Standard Research Paper Across the United States it has been debated, for several years, which standard should be utilized in the court system: the Frye standard or the Daubert standard. It basically comes down to whether expert testimony should be presented in court based on wide acceptance or scientific proof. Both articles explained the Daubert standard as basically a stricter Frye standard, which could also be gathered from their definitions. It is due to the stricter and more outlined restrictions that the Daubert standard should be utilized in the Florida court system. The Daubert standard bases its criteria for expert testimony on proven scientific fact and reliability. Just because an idea is widely accepted, does not necessarily mean that the idea is true. The best example of this would be that historically the Earth was believed to be flat. As science, technology, and understanding advanced, this theory was discovered to not hold true. In a court of a law, a mistake like this could be the difference between someone s life and death. The Simplified Guide to Forensic Evidence Admissibility and Expert Witnesses article discussed the polygraph, which even by Frye standard was not admissible in court. Today, many attorneys would be able to present a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another reason that the Daubert standard supersedes the Frye standard, is because it is more concrete which does not open it to interpretation. The Frye standard only basis its criteria on whether it is of value in understanding the evidence. Whereas the Daubert standard additionally narrows the criteria down to whether the testimony is based on sufficient data, whether there is reliable principle, and whether the data was obtained reliably. The Daubert standard can be pinpointed to the concept of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Uses And Uses Of Photosynthesis Introduction: Photosynthesis is a process that plants use to create glucose by utilizing sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water. The pigments in a plant absorb light by way of photosynthesis and each pigment can absorb different colors but will reflect green light because it does not really absorb it. Therefore, plants always appear to have a green color. Plants have four pigments that were tested in this exercise called carotenoids such as carotenes/xanthophyll, also pigments chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b. Chlorophyll a absorbs blue/violet light, chlorophyll b absorbs red/blue light, and carotene absorbs blue green/violet colors. Oxygen is after product of photosynthesis along with glucose which is used later in cellular respiration. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One table was used to describe how photosynthesis would occur with regular white light and one that was covered which measured the rate of cellular respiration. The other table describes the rate of photosynthesis and gross photosynthesis of green/white light. The table for green/white light was measured with accuracy with a volumeter tube. By analyzing the data, it can be confirmed that green light did not perform photosynthesis as fast as white light and white light performed photosynthesis creating oxygen more rapidly than the tube that had no light. Discussion: The second hypothesis on the rate of photosynthesis (green/white light) was correct because the data in the table above states that the rate of photosynthesis (which was measured in volumeters) was higher in the tube that was exposed to white light. The green light produced much slower rate results for photosynthesis because the color was not really absorbed very well. Plants use all colors of light to use photosynthesis except for green light. This means all wavelengths of light are used to make oxygen except for the green wavelength. One source of error in this experiment was the results for photosynthesis with light. The foil kept ... • 49. How Did Nurse Brink Design 1. What type of care modality did Nurse Brink design? Nurse Brink designed a care modality that follows the functional model. With the functional model, care is provided by all members of a nursing team through different tasks (Yoder Wise, 2015). Nurse Brink uses this model as each RN, LPN, and UAP are assigned a specific job. The jobs that each member of the nursing team has, correspond to their scope of practice (Yoder Wise, 2015). By having each member complete their job, they re supporting how a patient s care is provided. With this design, it allows for each member of the team to work together in union. Though there may be a small number of staff members, they still have a role and responsibility to meet the needs of all patients. 2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the type of care delivery system? ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since each member is not completing duties outside of their scope of practice, patient care is then being performed in a safe manner. As Nurse Brink creates this system due to hospital budget cuts, there would be a financial benefit to the budget problem. Though it would be a financial benefit, it could cause frustration to the workers due to having less staff and increasing their workload. A disadvantage to the delivery system, is that there would not be enough staff members capable to meet the needs of a large census of patients. As there are less RNs that would be able to complete patient assessments, patient conditions could be negatively affected as less attention to their health would be ...
