He used the gold to make extravagant furnishings for the temple and his palace, including a throne with ivory and gold overlays. 2. Solomon exceeded all other kings in riches and wisdom, which came from God. People brought him tribute to hear his wisdom. He had a large army with chariots and horses stationed throughout his kingdom. 3. Though Solomon gained many possessions and pleasures, he found it all meaningless and troubling without God. Seeking God and obeying His laws leads to true contentment, rather than the empty pursuits of wealth and pleasures.
