This is the best opportunity to meet some of the federal government data experts who champion action in improving public access to information to catalyze innovation. Come learn how to use assets from the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), the Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and more. Asthmapolis and the City of Louisville launched an innovative program to improve asthma
management among residents and provide officials with valuable information about the burden
of asthma. Preliminary analyses show the program significantly increased participant’s asthma
free days and reduced use of their rescue inhalers. In addition, a variety of environmental
exposures are associated with the development of asthma symptoms, information that can now
inform the city’s public health strategy. This demo reviews the technology, shows how both City
and residents put it to work and reveals our learning about its benefits for care and public health
understanding of asthma.

Dr. Chris Boone, then-VP in Avalere’s Evidence Translation and Implementation Practice, discussed clinical trial data transparency and considerations for governance and open data sharing. Clinical trials are extremely valuable as the primary data source for seeking regulatory approval of products. Historically, regulatory agencie have been the sole recipients of clinical trial data, butthere has been a recent push from various stakeholder groups to open access to clinical trial data to non-regulatory researchers as an act of ethical responsibility to patients, a contribution to public health, and a demonstrated commitment to advancing the science. Some of the barriers include developing a sound approach for de-identifying patient data, adopting universal clinical trial data format, and managing the proactive and non-selective access and security of clinical data once collected. Dr. Boone discusses rationales and benefits/risks of clinical trial transparency, responsible use of publicly sharing this data, barriers and legal implications, and reasonable data sharing models.

Some state and local jurisdictions are further along than others in effectively using health data – both in providing public access to data and in ensuring use of these data by policymakers, health care consumers, advocacy organizations, start-ups, and others. Panelists will share ideas for how other local communities can free their public domain health data and supply recommendations for what’s needed to help ensure that government entities across America can publish, promulgate, and encourage broad use of local health data.
The Health Care Cost Institute’s National Transparency Initiative
In May 2014, the Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI) announced a new national health care cost and quality transparency initiative. The initiative is supported by Aetna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare; other payers will be announced shortly. The presentation will provide background information on HCCI and describe the initial release of the three tier public transparency website that HCCI is developing. Tier 1, the public website, will be launched by 12/31/15 and was the focus of the discussion.

The diabetes prevention program is great for individuals who are struggling with being overweight or obese and who are prediabetic. The program is designed to help prevent type 2 diabetes. They will work with a trained professional for one year to better their lifestyle. They will focus on learning to eat a healthier diet and incorporate exercise into their daily routine. An alternative strategy I suggest for this program, is to shorten it by 6 months. The purpose of the program is not only to prevent diabetes in overweight adults, but to change their lifestyle. I think 6 months is an adequate time to do that. I think one year may be too long and as a result, individuals will give up or not be completely devoted to the program. I also think that group sessions would increase the success rate in this program. I believe that exercising or eating healthy with another person, motivates that person even more. I think that group exercises and support groups could motivate people more. With any weight loss or dietary program, comes fear of losing participants. It will be difficult for people to understand that this program is not just a fad diet, but a new lifestyle. Not monitoring the success of the participants could lead to them not following the program. The participants should be checking in with their trained professional every week to talk about the progress they have made or to improve certain aspects of the program, such as diet. I think a possible problem that I would encounter when implementing my suggestion would be the group sessions and activities. It certainly helps people to be exercising and eating healthy with others, but for some it may be uncomfortable. Seeing that the program includes group classes may steer people away from it. For the people who feel uncomfortable with exercising or talking in front of others, one on one sessions can be added. This will ensure the participant that their information is confidential and will only be displayed to the trained professional helping them.

The public health issue I have chosen for my project is diabetes and the program I have selected is the National Diabetes Educational Program (NDEP). This program is very detailed and covers a lot of grounds. Most importantly, it offers a lot of resources such as personnel, booklets, CDs, workshops, etc. However, an important component to the treatment and prevention of diabetes is diet. Research shows that by increasing the intake of vegetables and fruits, an individual decreases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and it can help with the treatment of type 2 diabetes (Bryce et al., 2017). In order to bring the program down to the local level, the alternative strategy I suggested is a partnership with local farmer’s markets so that health care providers can “prescribe” fruits and vegetables. This “prescription” would be part.

The global wellness program at Goodrich had several objectives: healthier and more productive employees, reduced medical costs, and improved company performance. It offered resources and tools to support employees' wellness goals. In 2012, 70% of U.S. employees completed health assessments. The Health Care Cost Institute’s National Transparency Initiative
In May 2014, the Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI) announced a new national health care cost and quality transparency initiative. The initiative is supported by Aetna, Humana, and UnitedHealthcare; other payers will be announced shortly. The presentation will provide background information on HCCI and describe the initial release of the three tier public transparency website that HCCI is developing. Tier 1, the public website, will be launched by 12/31/15 and was the focus of the discussion.

The diabetes prevention program is great for individuals who are struggling with being overweight or obese and who are prediabetic. The program is designed to help prevent type 2 diabetes. They will work with a trained professional for one year to better their lifestyle. They will focus on learning to eat a healthier diet and incorporate exercise into their daily routine. An alternative strategy I suggest for this program, is to shorten it by 6 months. The purpose of the program is not only to prevent diabetes in overweight adults, but to change their lifestyle. I think 6 months is an adequate time to do that. I think one year may be too long and as a result, individuals will give up or not be completely devoted to the program. I also think that group sessions would increase the success rate in this program. I believe that exercising or eating healthy with another person, motivates that person even more. I think that group exercises and support groups could motivate people more. With any weight loss or dietary program, comes fear of losing participants. It will be difficult for people to understand that this program is not just a fad diet, but a new lifestyle. Not monitoring the success of the participants could lead to them not following the program. The participants should be checking in with their trained professional every week to talk about the progress they have made or to improve certain aspects of the program, such as diet. I think a possible problem that I would encounter when implementing my suggestion would be the group sessions and activities. It certainly helps people to be exercising and eating healthy with others, but for some it may be uncomfortable. Seeing that the program includes group classes may steer people away from it. For the people who feel uncomfortable with exercising or talking in front of others, one on one sessions can be added. This will ensure the participant that their information is confidential and will only be displayed to the trained professional helping them.

The public health issue I have chosen for my project is diabetes and the program I have selected is the National Diabetes Educational Program (NDEP). This program is very detailed and covers a lot of grounds. Most importantly, it offers a lot of resources such as personnel, booklets, CDs, workshops, etc. However, an important component to the treatment and prevention of diabetes is diet. Research shows that by increasing the intake of vegetables and fruits, an individual decreases the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and it can help with the treatment of type 2 diabetes (Bryce et al., 2017). In order to bring the program down to the local level, the alternative strategy I suggested is a partnership with local farmer’s markets so that health care providers can “prescribe” fruits and vegetables. How to Market Your Practice More Efficiently and Effectively
It’s easy to let marketing slip simply out of a lack of time. This doesn’t mean that you can’t market your practice. You just have to become more efficient.
Prioritize
What is the most important thing your practice needs? Attracting new patients? Getting more referrals? Define your goals, then choose tactics to help you achieve them.
Example: A practice wants to increase the number of new patients from referrals by friends and family. Our patients are happy and likely to refer, so we need to leverage that into more new patients.
Plan Out Tactics
You need a plan to help you stay consistent. Then, figure out how that plan fits into your daily work. Without a clear plan, you may spend much more time on marketing, so it will save time in the long run.
Example: Make it easy for patients to refer via a Facebook campaign and a landing page on our website. We’ll collect patient stories and share on our Facebook page and track new patients related to the campaign.
Delegate Responsibilities
Delegate tasks where you can to ensure that everything gets done on time.
Example: Nurses find patients to participate. Front desk staff collects the information. I post the information to Facebook and create the landing page. The practice manager attributes patients to the campaign.
Use Automation
Automation allows you to set up and schedule content ahead of time. You can find automation tools for several different platforms, including social media, blog posts, and email marketing.
Example: Schedule out Facebook posts. Schedule content updates on our website. Use electronic surveys to quickly collect information from patients.
Social Media - Pre-planned events and any information that isn’t time-sensitive can be scheduled ahead of time. Most social media management services are free and will save you the trouble of logging into each account. Hootsuite and Buffer are popular, but research and test to see what works best for you.
Blog Posts/News Updates - Most blog sites like Wordpress allow you to schedule posts in advance. Just be sure to keep a schedule of posts so you can stay on track.
Email Marketing - A service like Constant Contact or MailChimp allows you to set up content and send to a group of contacts exactly when you want. No need to manually send out each one. Use a HIPAA-compliant service to protect patients.
Evaluate Progress & Focus on What Works
Over time, you should be able tell what is working for you and eliminate what isn’t. Frequently review your results so you aren’t wasting time on something that isn’t helping.
Example: Review the number of patients that credit their visit to referrals. Has that number increased, or remained steady? The answer will inform our strategy moving forward.

Adani SEBI investigation revealed that the latter had sought information from five foreign jurisdictions concerning the holdings of the firm’s foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) in relation to the alleged violations of the MPS Regulations. Nevertheless, the economic interest of the twelve FPIs based in tax haven jurisdictions still needs to be determined. The Adani Group firms classed these FPIs as public shareholders. According to Hindenburg, FPIs were used to get around regulatory standards.
