Green Chiles Analysis Essay
There is a mysterious connection between grandparent and grandchild, one that transcends all
ethnicities, religions, and socio economic groups. In Jimmy Santiago Baca s poem Green Chile , he
explores this connection via the use of chile peppers as a medium. Baca personifies both green and red
peppers to illustrate not only that special bond, but also the historical significance of said vegetable
amongst the Mexican American community. The speaker in Green Chile begins the poem by stating
his fondness for red chiles. As an accompaniment to his morning feast, and as decorative items
embellishing the exterior of his home. It is somewhat implied that the speaker is almost obsessed with
red chiles and all that they stand for. I can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(II. 20 24)
The speaker watches his grandmother prepare the green chili con carne in awe, knowing all along that
she wants to please him, even if it means sacrificing her true love in order to take care of her family.
Sexual metaphors aside, it is clear that the speaker loves his grandmother immensely and offers a
sacrifice of his own. Even though red chiles are clearly his favorite, he is willing to clean his plate of
green chili con carne, all the way down to the last bit of tortilla . He needs to a tall glass of water to
fight off the intense spiciness of the dish. He even hisses from the heat, but masks his pain in order to
not upset his grandmother. In the end, the grandmothers slaving away in front of the stove allowed her
to vent her repressed sexual feelings and desire to be young again. She relishes in the fact that cooking
will always be her escapism from the sad truth of growing old.
Although their tastes differ when it comes to types of chiles, the grandmother and the speaker share a
love for the traditional Mexican American garnish. They also respect each other, simply based on their
actions. Here we have two individuals, from different generations, that bond over the age old tradition
of food and love.
The last stanza of Green Chile speaks on the ritual of vegetable stands throughout the

Diana with Preserving Fluid in Veins and Savage Bride in an Opera Box:
Wharton s Allusions in The Age of Innocence to Primitive and Pagan Myths and Beliefs When reading
the comment of Archer made on Mrs. Welland s simulation of reluctance at the time she hears about
the engagement of her daughter and Archer, comparing her action to the Primitive culture in which
savage bride is dragged with shrieks from her parents tent (Wharton, 22). , most of the students of
American Lit must be reminded of the allusion to the anthropology works as The Golden Bough made
by Wharton s contemporary authors such as T.S.Eliot, who happened to have tortured us in a previous
week. After going ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Her connection with wild nature (both the real, uncultivated nature and the man s sphere in society
without protection), which is a major and substantial characteristic of Diana that shows her mystical
power, is shown in the story by the impressions she left on Archer. He thought that at a unpruned
garden, the tumbledown house, and the oak grove under which the dusk was gathering seems to be so
exactly the place in which he ought to have found Madame Olenska (103). When he founds her alone
in the publicity, he asked her But what on earth are you doing in this wilderness (105)? Archer s
mentioning of the oak grove is another specific clue that leads to the identity of Diana, as she is
actually queen of the woods in general and also goddess of the oaks in particular (Frazer, II, 380).
Ellen s first name as the shortened version of Helen might also be an allusion to Diana, who is also
known as Helen of the Tree (Frazer, V, 292). Besides, working in concert with May s marriage with
Archer around Easter, the mutual confession of Countess Olenska and Archer takes place in middle of
August, when Diana s own day is celebrated (Frazer, I, 12 14) (Scheick, 3). Moreover, the term flower
of life with a little bit of ambiguity and inexplicability kind of resembles the term heart of life she used
in her previous work, which refers to Diana and thus readers could suggest that the

Murder In Absolon From The Miller s Tale
This passage (lines 678 702) of Chaucer s The Miller s Tale describes Absolon s revenge against
Alison and Nicholas. At line 678 he has procured a hot iron cultour which he takes to Alison s
window. There, he proceeds in an attempt to lure her out with the promise of a gold ring in exchange
for a kiss. Nicholas, hearing this from Alison s room, decides to make the joke better by putting his
behind out the window and farting in Absolon s face, to which Absolon responds by striking him with
the hot iron. At the beginning of the passage, we do not yet know what Absolon plans to do with the
weapon he has acquired. Suspense is easily built, therefore, by the emphasis on his actions and
deliberate description of his every move. The listing

Ryleigh offered me a weak smile as the realisation of what was happening started to sink in. It almost
feels like her hand is getting warmer, when in fact mine was just rapidly cooling by the second. I was

didn t want me to, either.
Sixteen years of friendship was a really long time. But in all honesty it wasn t enough. Thirty years
wouldn t have been enough. Nor sixty. Not even eternity. I still would have wanted more time
together, no matter how much we were given. I would give anything to be out there, with her, not as

Usually my departures go much smoother. A sad feeling in both the child and the companion s heart.
But with both knowing it was time to go, and there was nothing to do to change that, it was a lot of
hugs and a few goodbyes. My departure from Ryleigh was proving to be the most difficult thing I was

The Utopian Philosophy of Shangri La in James Hilton s Lost Horizon
For some people life may not be satisfactory. Life has many troubles including death, pain, and
suffering. It leaves little hope. There are ways in which people can live to have a good life. This
method of how a person should live is viewed differently thoughout the world. James Hilton
represents this combination of ideas and cultures in the novel, Lost Horizon (1933). This novel tells
the tale of four distinctively different people retreating from a war zone. In their retreat they are
kidnapped and taken by plane deep into the Himalayan mountain wilderness. Little did they know that
here in the confines of the mountains there is a paradise. This paradise is called ... Show more content

The mental environment of the people of Shangri La is the search of knowledge. Platonism, the theory
of Plato, maintains that to live the good life, one must first acquire certain kinds of knowledge. This
theory represents the environment of Shangri La, searching for knowledge. Hilton portrays the
Shangri Lite s search of knowledge through their extensive library which contains the world s best
literature (95). This great asset of Shangri La represents the theory of Plato and showed that Shangri
La is a place abundant is Platonic philosophy. The second philosophical view aiding in the setting of
Shangri La is the theory of Aristotle. Aristotle believed that the good life is one of balance. The people
of Shangri La also lived this way claiming that our prevalent belief is moderation. (74). The people are
moderately sober, moderately chaste, and moderately honest (75). Moderation is abundant throughout
the setting of Shangri La, and the people claim that moderation [is], y know the motto of the firm
(180), whereas firm represents Shangri La. This principle makes for a considerable degree of
happiness (74). This relates to the view of Aristotle, that the good life is a life of happiness. The
happiness of Shangri La is portrayed as one of the pleasantest communities, (108) where the
inhabitants are courteous and carefree (108) and where one will doubtless find great happiness (198).
Even in happiness there is moderation. Shangri La

Martha Stewart Case Summary
One of our most world renowned business women and television personalities Martha Stewart decided
to dip her feet into illegal insider trading. Martha served five months in a federal prison at Alderson in
West Virginia and two additional years of supervised release after a portion in home confinement.
Back in 2001, Martha Stewart sold all her shares from a biotech company she invested in called
ImClone. Ironically, a few days after she sold her shares the company s stock fell sixteen percent after
they publicly announced that the FDA did not approve ImClone s pharmaceutical product (Moffatt,
2017). With her selling her shares before the company went public and the subsequent drop in stock s
value, Martha avoided a $45,673 loss. In addition, she wasn t the only one who benefitted from the
quick sale. The CEO of ImClone, Sam Waskal, ordered to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Figurative Language In Truman Capote s A Christmas Memory
The short story I read was A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote. The book was mainly about two
characters, Buddy and his friend, and a memorable Christmas that they spent together a couple of
years back before Buddy s friend passed away. Basically the whole story is a memoir, his own
memories and experiences , because Buddy is reminiscing on the past and is speaking upon the
memories that he remembers from that Christmas spent with his friend. Even though it was a short
story, Capote did a well enough job of describing not only the characters, but also their relationship
with literary devices such as figurative language, symbolism, theme, and many more.
My first point will be about the author s major use of figurative language. For example, in A
Christmas Memory Buddy said, She is wearing tennis shoes and a shapeless gray sweater over a
summery calico dress, (Capote 12) which depicts imagery since Buddy went into detail and gave a
vivid image of what his friend was wearing that day. Another example within the story was when
Buddy s friend was speaking to Buddy and said I know where we ll find real pretty trees, Buddy. And
Holly, too. With berries as big as your eyes. (Capote 7) Within this quote lies a simile because Buddy s

A Report On The Industrial Energy Audit Essay
1. Methodology
The industrial energy audit may be divided into three main parts: the survey, the analysis and the
proposed measures. The expected result of the energy audit is a number of measures that will increase
the energy efficiency, switch from non renewable to renewable sources and decrease the energy use of
the company. The result is normally presented in a report. In the three parts of the audit we have
different tasks:
Energy survey What do we have?
Define the system boundary.
Identify unit processes.
Quantify energy supply.
Allocate energy use to different unit processes. Energy analysis How bad is the utilization of the
supplied energy? Where does it go wrong? How far can we reach?
Identify both system errors and detail problems.
Identify idling power and energy.
Identify technologies that are far from BAT (Best Available Technology).
Identify mismatching energy quality, where high quality energy is used for non demanding purposes,
for example, electricity for low temperature heating.
Identifying barriers and driving forces.
Sum up the potential for energy efficiency and conversion for the system as a whole.
Suggested measures What can we do about it? Identify possible solutions.
Calculate the impact of the solutions and analyze them. Calculate the economic impact.
Top down approach and iterative method
the energy audit is basically a project with the aim to suggest energy efficiency and conversion

Role Of Madness In Macbeth
And nothing is but what is not (1.3.155). What matters to Macbeth is what does not exist, and those
that exist do not matter: Macbeth says these words while thinking of murder. Macbeth begins his
descent into madness through the act to follow. However innocent he thinks he is, he is but the serpent
underneath it. Shakespeare creates his character Macbeth in a such a way that he starts off sane, and
through certain actions that Shakespeare characterizes as evil, he falls. In the play Macbeth, Macbeth s
mind slips far further than he had wagered and soon he is the epitome of madness. Shakespeare uses
other characters as well to delineate Macbeth s mind state as the play unfolds. Such parallels are
meant to emphasize and strengthen the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Macbeth moves throughout the play, he makes decisions based on greed and insecurity. These
decisions are influenced by his diseased mind which is crippled by his paradoxical thoughts. While
planning to kill Banquo, he shares that full of scorpions is my mind, dear wife! Thou know st that
Banquo, and his Fleance, lives / But in them nature s copy s not eterne. / There s comfort yet; they are
assailable (3.2.41 44). Macbeth knows that his mind is diseased and while knowing that Banquo and
his son is alive, his mind tricks him into thinking they are dangerous. Shakespeare compares Macbeth
s mind to be full of scorpions . Scorpions attack by using their tails and stabbing poison into someone.
The scorpion attacking him is his own greed and the poison is from what the greed leads to. His greed,
filling his mind more and more with bad thoughts, until finally he is poisoned with the thoughts of
killing to get what he wants. The idea that Macbeth s head is full of scorpions suggests that over time
his thoughts are getting a little more poisoned over and over again until finally he dies. His state of
mind now inhabited by scorpions leads him to making paradoxical decisions. Macbeth feels comfort
in knowing that nature s copy is eterne for him but he also feels threatened by his successor being
Fleance. Lady Macbeth tries to comfort him by telling him he has eternal life and his assailants do not.
He agrees with his wife s comfort but he is still not sure. His thoughts are paradoxical because he
thinks he has eternal life and yet he feels in danger of Banquo and

Basal Metabolic Study
Energy comes in the form of chemical, mechanical, electrical and heat. Energy can be converted and
cannot be created or destroyed. In nutrition, energy is measured by a unit of kilocalorie or commonly
called a calorie. Fifty percent of food kilocalories from eating produce ATP through reactions of
glycolysis and in the mitochondria of the cell. Another fifty percent is lost as heat. Energy comes
though foods and body energy reserves. Exercise will increase energy metabolism. A basal metabolic
rate or BMR is the amount of energy or kilocalories to keep organs functioning and to stay alive.
BMR estimates are made with measuring resting metabolic rate or RMR. RMR measures metabolism

It has three sites involved in appetite regulation ventromendial nucleus, lateral hypothalamus and
arcuate nucleus. Through studies using mice, lesions to the hypothalamus has resulted in hyperphagia
or hypophagia. In human studies, patients with tumors in the hypothalamus have been shown to be
hyperphagia or hypophagia. The regulation of food intake is a complicated process. It involves
external factors and signals from certain hormones through the hypothalamus. These factors act as
appetite stimulator and appetite suppressors to control energy intake and expenditure. There have been
several weight loss drugs developed to treat obesity. Three of the drugs are orlistat, sibutramine, and
rimonabant. Orlistat prevents fat digestions and absorption by binding to gastrointestinal lipases. The
fat is blocked and fat is not digested and passed out in feces. Sibutramine works differently to affect
the nerve cells in the brain that regulate appetite. Rimonabant works as a CB1 antagonist. The drug
binds to a receptor without activating it and preventing endocannabinoid to bind to it which decreases
cell signals for appetite. The desire is for less appetite. A person will gain weight once stopping the
drugs and limited in there use for weight loss. Weight loss surgery is used to limit the amount of intake
of foods by decreasing the size of the stomach. The options are the duodenal switch, gastric binding,

America s Right to Legal Marijuana Essay
The Right to Legal Marijuana With alcohol and tobacco butchering substantial portions out of the
general public each year, does it really make sense for something that helps people, has so many
positive aspects in the medical field, and is natural without the need for additional things to be done to
it like marijuana to be illegal? It can be easily understood by most why heavy man made drugs, such
as methamphetamines and LSD, which are almost guaranteed to cause addiction and contain harsh
chemicals would be illegal; though marijuana grows naturally and it has been around so long, the

Back then people of the Chinese culture who likely discovered the cannabis plant did not probably
know to the extent how the plant could genuinely help people. Today, after many studies, people now
have that knowledge. Today marijuana should be legalized in America because it can be used for
everything from various aspects in the medical field, like chronic pain and reducing the effects
brought on by chemotherapy, prohibition not being effective, saving money from not policing illegal
marijuana users, as well as gaining income for the government from taxation. Marijuana in the
medical field has countless usages from dealing with chronic pain to helping cancer patients with
nausea. Two of the most important treatments, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, also cause
damage and often, severe vomiting (McKinley). Cancer therapies, such as chemotherapy and radiation
therapy are essential in treatments for cancer though it often can result in extreme vomiting in the
patients receiving treatments. Medicinal marijuana can help patients with their nausea and vomiting. If
the vomiting ceases while using marijuana, the individual s appetite is sure to increase making it easier
for the individuals to sustain an adequate weight as cancer patients are most of the time under weight.

The Pros And Cons Of A Moralist Society
First, we must understand what a pluralist society is. A pluralistic society is a diverse one, where the
people in it believe all kinds of different things and tolerate each other s beliefs even when they don t
match their own. (Vocabulary.com). Today I m here tell you the positive of pluralist system. Especially
from books of the Federalist 10 and on the use that Americans Make of Association in Civil Life. I
will now critically evaluated these books. In hopes to show how positive this system of society is.
In the federalist papers number ten James Madison main concern is that of factions. Madison feared
not the wealthy or powerful but the poor. This partly from shays rebellion he feels this way because
the rich are small and exclusive to one another but poor are one of many. You can relate this to many
situations in America. One of these the examples is players strike in NFL as they felt they were not
getting paid equally enough for enduring the hard seasons in the football league the owners had come
gather and pay the players. Kind of like shays rebellion.
Among the laws that rule human societies there is one that seems more precise and clearer than all the
others. In order that men remain civilized or become so, the art of associating must be developed and
perfected among them in the same ratio as equality of conditions increases. Tocqueville). This positive
in my eyes because people are able to come as one as a society. This gives American greater strength

Alienation In The Garden Of Eden
The first and one of the most popular narratives in the Hebrew bible is the story of the Garden of
Eden. Here, in the book of Genesis, the LORD God places Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and
commands them to eat freely in of any tree in the garden, but to not eat from the tree of the knowledge
of good and evil. It doesn t take long for them to disobey this command, leading to separation from the
LORD God. The story of the Garden of Eden serves as a foundational narrative for early Jews by
portraying Adam and Eve s alienation from the garden, from each other, and from God, revealing the
need for a way back to unification with the LORD God like there was in the garden. The first thing the
Lord God does after creating Adam is make a place for him to live in Eden, but Adam s actions get
him sent out of the garden. After breathing life into Adam, the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in
the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed (Gen 2:7 8). Eden when translated means
delight, showing that the garden that the LORD God made for Adam was a divine place. Then the
LORD God commanded Adam you may eat freely of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the
knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat (Gen 2:16 17). This is the one command the LORD God
gave to Adam, but he disobeys because of his selfishness and is deserving of death. For Adam s
disobedience, the LORD God drove out the man so that he could not enter back into Eden to eat from

One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest Research Paper
Kenneth Elton Kasey also referred to Ken Kesey (1935 2001) was an American author, best known for
his novel One flew over the cuckoo s nest which was published on 1962 by Viking Press Signet
Books. It is believed that Ken Kasey got the inspiration to write the novel after his use of experimental
drugs and experiences in working at a Veteran s Hospital, there he witnessed plenty of rebellious
figures there helping him to inspire One who flew over the cuckoo s nest protagonist Randle Patrick

The research paper will also include the flaws with authoritarian society rules and the importance of
rebellion if the authoritarian rules affect us negatively. In the story, the head nurse Nurse Ratched has
an authoritarian rule system already established. This system suppresses the patient s freedom; her
rules force them to conform to avoid the consequences if they do not. The protagonist Randle Patrick
McMurphy is a prime example on why should we as in the people rebel against authoritarian laws and
society. If it were not for McMurphy Chief Bromden would have never came to terms with himself or
never of have found his sanity nor Mr. Hardening either. It is important to know our selves and
express ourselves. McMurphy understood that aspect fully before entering the ward. He could not
understand why the others could not understand they were not as crazy to society as they thought they
were. Eventually the experiences the patients had with McMuprhy, helped them come to terms with
themselves. In our society, we pretty much have the exact issue going on where people believe in
order to be considered normal we must conform to their standards to

My Ancestors Research Paper
For the past 4 years I ve been tracing my ancestors. My family tree has been filling up with names and
information of people I never heard. I get excited every time I discover a new name, marriage,
children s, and their different jobs. I can trace two generations on my mother s side as my grandmother
didn t know much about her mother, however on her dad s side I went four generations. I discover an
interesting fact about my great grandpa. He has registered in the census of 1910 three families under
three different names. Oh yes, he uses his real name on my grandma s home, his middle name on a
second family, and his nickname in the third family. Now I understand why I have all this grandmas
and uncles when I was visiting with my mother her hometown.
On the other hands on my dad s family, it has been difficult to find his mother s side because he lost
his mother at a very young age. My dad lost communication with his dad. After his mother passed
away in childbirth, my dad who was two went to live with my grandpa s cousins. They loved and treat
my dad like their own child. I discovered a few months ago my dad s mother had a sister. She was in

Aestheticism In Wilde s Lady Gertrude Chiltern
Lady Gertrude Chiltern Correspondingly, Wilde utilises Aestheticism to characterise Lady Gertrude
Chiltern dissimilar to Lord Goring and Mrs Cheveley and as a touchstone of moral stability (Bose,
1999) to indicate her restraints towards the model upper class standards. Hence, Wilde undermines the
Victorian English notions, particularly of marriage, as exaggeratingly hypocritical and non naturalistic
(Hornychová, 2010) as it led to Lady Chiltern s disillusion and disappointment from her morally rigid
admiration towards her husband s façade. Consequently, Wildes creates dramatic irony into Lady
Chiltern s dialogue and develops her distaste towards Mrs Cheveley. Primarily through dramatic irony
established from Lady Chiltern s prudent dialogue, Wilde depicts her stagnant pride highly tuned from
societal conventions to dramatise the hypocrisy of Victorian English strictures as it negatively impacts
the relationship between Lady Chiltern and Sir Chiltern. In Act 1 Scene 6, Sir Chiltern hints at his
pastime indiscretions to observe Lady Chiltern s reaction where her replying dialogue stresses that one
s past is what one is and that would be the only way people should be judged (1.6) and thus ironically
conveys her Victorian English morality when the audience already have knowledge about Sir Chiltern
s political misdemeanours. This is further noted in her dialogue where she will love him always (1.6)

Every Man in this Village is a Liar
Prologue
In this chapter Stack describes the effects of conflict on the lives of both people who have experienced
war and people who have not experienced war. Stack provides an example in the form of her relative,
John a former American marine. John was sent to Beirut to combat the Hezbollah and whilst fighting
there he experienced the true nature of war. He returned later however he wasn t all right . He
committed suicide due to the effects of war and the conflicts that he experienced. Thus Stack came to
the conclusion that after being in a war zone, you could survive and not survive, both at the same time

She realised that people of any age will do anything to assist what they are fighting for. Furthermore,
Stack lived through a portion of the second Palestinian intifada. During this struggle countless suicide
bombers came by day and Israeli tanks acquired Palestinian land in the West Bank by night. Stack
describes this period of time as complete chaos, where, violence fed violence. Blood washed blood .
Stack knew a Palestinian woman who was a victim of the brutality during the first intifada. She was
tortured during the days of this time period for being part of an underground Palestinian political
movement. Stack s Palestinian friend was tortured for days, beaten, abused, threatened with rape by a
barbaric Israeli interrogator. Although she faced strong hostility from the interrogator, she also faced
kindness in the form of an anonymous Israeli man who sat with her hour after dark hour and attempted
to help her get through the pain. This shows that an individual can interact with both negative and
positive things throughout a conflict. Stack later faced a conflict when she wrote a feature about how
the body parts of suicide bombers had caused a policy debate in Israel. This feature caused Stack to
receive hundreds of hate mails regarding as to how she humanized [suicide bombers] by writing about
them as actual people with families.

This heavy burden made the business impossible to sustain in the long run. High cost of internal
supplies GM s decline can also be concluded by the failure of cost cut. As sales decline, variable costs,
manufacturing costs and material purchases should also be reduced. However, since GM has
significant fixed costs, for instance the pensions and healthcare costs, it has been difficult to do costs
cut in a successful way. As a result, the total costs of GM remain much higher than the one of its
competitors. Wrong evaluation of customer needs Since 1980, GM has failed to respond to customer
preference and needs. This resulted in wrong focus on vehicle types in the U.S. market as customers
preferred smaller, cheaper and more efficient cars rather than the bigger vehicle that GM had to offer.
However, GM s profit mainly relies on the sale of SUVs and trucks, which is no more popular and this
led to the decline of sales and revenues. In addition, GM s cars are less fuel efficient compared to its
competitors such as Toyota and Honda. This resulted in a decrease of GM sales in Asian and American
markets. Furthermore, there is little differentiation among the vehicles produced, so the various
customer needs cannot be satisfied and it is more likely for customers to switch to other brands that
have better design. 4 External Factors Powerful competitors Toyota, one of GM s most powerful

The Characteristics Of Ed Gein And The Leatherface
In 1974, director Tobe Hooper revolutionized horror with his film inspired by a true story, THE
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Almost immediately after the film s release, rumors began to
circulate that there was an actual chainsaw wielding madman living with his deranged family in the
town of Poth, Texas. The inspired events were also said to have taken place on August 18th, 1973.
However, a quick check of that date reveals that the film had just wrapped four days prior, making it
fairly difficult to base a film on an actual event that had yet to occur. Despite this, there was an actual
skin wearing maniac that was the film s inspiration.
He may not have had a chainsaw, but serial killer Ed Gein was a key inspiration for the infamous
Leatherface. Born in 1906 in Plainfield, Wisconsin, Ed Gein lived most of his life as a reclusive loner.
Born to an alcoholic father, George, and a fanatically religious mother, Augusta, Ed Gein suffered
heavy psychological and physical abuse at the hands of his parents. Classmates remember Ed as being
reclusive with strange habits. One of his most unnerving habits was to randomly laugh out loud as
though someone had told a joke that only he could hear.

In The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas, some of the citizens, the ones who walk away from
Omelas, risk their lives and happiness in order to achieve their goals of enjoyment in life. Despite
living in a utopia (on the surface), the people who leave know that there is nothing they can do to save
the boy, so their guilty conscience overcomes their happiness, causing them to leave. This departure
from Omelas shows that big sacrifice is needed for one s goals to be reached. No one knows what
happens to these people, but they risk their lives anyways in hopes of redeeming themselves for living
happily while the boy suffers. In The Boat, there is again big sacrifice made by the characters in hopes
to reach their desires, no matter what has to be lost. It was established that the father, one in a long line
of fisherman before him, was always disappointed that he never go to pursue his education. He tries
desperately to get his son to follow his dreams, worried about what will happen to him if he follows
his fathers footsteps. In the end, the father makes the ultimate sacrifice by presumably jumping to his
death in order for his son to follow his dreams. Additionally, the father also fulfills his goal of getting
off the boat, after so many years of torment. These stories show how if humans want something in life,
sacrifice of what is normal and cherished must happen, in order for these ambitions and aspirations to

Analysis Of The Book The Twilight Series
A young psychic teen hiding from the CIA embarks on a quest to find a hidden treasure that is linked
to an old murder, but corrupt police, the CIA, greedy relatives, a crazy homeless man, and the girl he
falls smitten with hinder his efforts.
STORY COMMENTS
CODE NAME TRACKER: INDIGO is a highly creative and imaginative novel that is targeted for the
young adult audience. Like the TWILIGHT series one can easily envision the success of such a series
of books and a possible film franchise.
The novel has a strong hook with the idea of the protagonist having psychic skills. The script
combines a supernatural tale with drama and dark comedy. The storyline offers intrigue, action,
forbidden love, betrayal, corruption, and the supernatural. The story also offers solid twists and turns.
The main storyline centers on the psychic teen searching for missing treasure. It s a smart story choice,
as everyone loves the idea of finding buried treasure. This gives the novel a strong, actionable goal
with merit, and it keeps the story goal focused.
The subplot of the budding teen romance supports the main storyline and is fluidly integrated.
One of the major strength of this novel is the compelling ensemble cast. Each character feels original
and refreshing. They are complex and rich in personality. There s no doubt that these characters would
attract talent if produced into a film.
The novel clearly identifies Ryan Gordon as the mystifying, insecure hero. Ryan is easy to like and

the basic level. I ve found a great resource both for those who are willing to improve their
programming skills and for those who only start programming!
Example:
In this hour, you get a chance to learn some Python basics, such as using the print function to display
output. You will read about using variables and how to assign values to variables, and you will gain an
understanding of their data types. By the end of the hour, you will know how to get data into a script
by using the input function and write your first Python script!
Producing Python Script Output
Understanding how to produce output from a Python script is a good starting point for those who are
new to the Python programming language. You get instant feedback on your Python statements from
the Python interactive interpreter and can experiment with proper syntax. The print function, which
you met in Hour 3, Setting Up a Programming Environment, is a good place to focus your attention.

The Causes Of The Cold War In A Cold War
From 1947 up until 1991 America and The USSR were in a cold war. A cold war is defined a state on
political hostility that never progresses past threats, propaganda, or any other acts of antagonism short
of open violence. The change in American foreign policy was the main catalyst in starting the Cold
War, however with conflicting ideology and the control of Eastern Europe post WWII being the
precursors they played a large role in creating tension and mistrust between the soviets and the
americans. From the very start, the cold war was bound to happen due to the conflicting ideology
between the USSR and the USA. The USSR, who was a communist state believed in a society that
had no private ownership. Communism was all about being a classless society where everyone was
equal, this entailed the abolishment of inheritance, once someone died all of their money went back to
the government rather than to the family of the deceased. Everyone had equal obligation to work; most
frequently in agriculture, and all profit made from working were equally distributed to all members of
society. All communications and transportation was controlled by the State. Communism outlawed all
forms or religious teaching, as well as prohibiting trade with outside nations. Communism was a
totalitarian system of government where the government controlled all aspects of a society, they
imposed their views on the population and resorted to violence if they were met with resistance. As

Factors Affecting Occupational Stress Essay
Occupational stress is defined as a person s physical and mental reaction to a stressor in the
surrounding environment (Antai Otong 2001). This stressor can occur from the mental or emotional
states, and on the physical activities a person is doing. Occupational stress is one of the health perils of
the present day working environment in which members are employees. Stress condition is relative in
nature separated from its presence, which an unnecessary stress could be destructive in numerous
terms, rationally and physically though calm anxiety is seen as typical and it may be brought about
attractive accomplishments. Consequently, a few specialists contend that a certain measure of

Stress can result from other aspects of jobs, such as the physical environment of the job. Extreme
levels of noise, temperature, humidity or illumination causes stress (Mackay Cox 1978). People
experience stress when they have little influence over work procedures or the pace of the work
(Cottington House 1987).
i) Organizational Change
Change is troublesome for an establishment and for its delegates. There is mistrust about what s to
come, about what the acquaintanceship will look like, and how the delegates feel they will fit into the
new structure. While a couple of individuals handle change, most basically recognize it. There are
those, on the other hand, who decrease to change. The following rejection of accommodating headway
puts extended tension on chiefs, accomplices, and the association general. As expressed by the old
adage, most people don t like any change that does not jingle in their pockets. The normal slant is to
restrict it. Yet, in A Survival Guide to the Stress of Organizational Change, the inventors state,
restricting change is a standout amongst the most ordinary purposes behind strain at work (Pritchett

of the dubiousness change causes. They question their abilities to perform in a dark future. There is a

very beginning of Cathedral , the absence of a persuasive or convincing style of writing is very
suggestive of the presence of a male narrator through whose eyes the events are seen. The introduction

Determining The Molecular Formula Of A Hydrated Copper...
Determining the Molecular Formula of a Hydrated Copper (II) Sulfate Through the Concept of Moles
Introduction
In this experiment, the mass percentage of water, and the molecular formula, of a hydrated copper (II)
sulfate will be calculated through an understanding of hydrates, percent composition, and moles.
A hydrated compound, is a compound that absorbs water molecules from the surrounding
environment.1 The water molecules attach to the compound, but do not form a chemical bond. Water
molecules in an inorganic hydrate can be released when the compound is heated, and become
anhydrous.1
In this experiment, by heating the hydrated copper (II) sulfate, the water molecules will evaporate and
separate from the compound leaving behind an anhydrous solid compound, copper (II) sulfate.
The mass of which will be recorded, and used to calculate the mass of water molecules in the hydrate.
The mass of the hydrate will be equal to the combined mass of the anhydrate and water molecules. It
is important to note that no reaction has occurred, since chemical bond have not been formed or
broken. By using the measurements found, the percent composition of water can be calculated through
equation (1) by substituting water for the element.
(1) % =
The molecular formula will be calculated, using equation (2) to convert the mass of water and the
anhydrate into moles.
(2) n =
Therefore, the hypothesis of this experiment is that by heating the hydrated copper (II) sulfate,

Affects Of Weather On Deer Hunting
Effects of Weather on Deer Hunting Every year the fall brings in one of the biggest sports, hunting.
According to David Crook in his article How big is the Hunting Economy, there are about 13.7 million
people or approximately six percent of the United States population that consider themselves to be
hunters. When all of these people get up the morning of opening day there is one thing that affects the
way that they hunt. Every avid hunter knows that they have to base their hunting style off of the
weather. The different factors of the weather such as the temperature, wind speed, barometric pressure,
and precipitation changes the way the deer move and can either make or break a deer hunter s season.
The movement of a whitetail deer changes according to the weather. There are several different factors
to consider when talking about the weather, but the one of the leading factors is the temperature. Some
people believe that the colder it is outside, the better the hunting becomes. This is true until it gets so
cold that the deer have to bed down and not move to stay warm. When the temperature begins to drop
down to about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, the deer begin scrambling for food to prepare for winter and the
rut. The rut is a deer s mating season. This has the deer at a constant movement and makes for prime

Tanglewood Stores and Staffing Strategy
TANGLEWOOD STORES AND STAFFING STRATEGY
Tanglewood has a unique culture that emphasizes straight talk, employee participation, and teamwork
which helps to differentiate it from most of its major competitors. Following the recent period of rapid
expansion and acquisition, the company must consolidate its human resources strategy to ensure that
this culture is not lost. Recommendations to achieve this goal are as follows.
STAFFING RECOMMENDATIONS
Acquire or Develop Talent
Now that Tanglewood is slowing their acquisition of new stores, it s recommended that they develop
existing talent for management positions working hard to instill the company s unique values into
recently acquired employees. Tanglewood is known for their employee ... Show more content on

Attract or Relocate
Tanglewood should focus on attracting employees that fit its niche market. Employees may better
serve customers by having local knowledge such as the best hiking routes, bike trails, camp sites; etc.
Generally, the retail industry doesn t require a highly specialized or task specific workforce and so the
company should be able to attract the talent it needs locally.
Overstaff or Understaff
Tanglewood should continue to overstaff. There is currently an abundance of department managers
and assistant mangers that may at times border on surplus. However, Tanglewood can benefit by
having a stockpile of talent by ensuring smooth succession in case of turnover, retirement or
promotion. Overstaffing also ensures that trained staff is available during peak seasonal periods to
ensure quality and the superior customer experience that consistent with the company s values.
Short or Long Term Focus
Tanglewood has emphasized employee participation and teams since its inception and one of the most
important cultural elements of the organization is the commitment to straight talk in all areas of
business. Because the corporate staffing function has not been strong, in the short term, Tanglewood
should seek is to implement new policies and procedures that will centralize the human resources
staffing strategy and create staffing operations efficiencies.
Once urgent short term goals are met, the

  • 2. Green Chiles Analysis Essay There is a mysterious connection between grandparent and grandchild, one that transcends all ethnicities, religions, and socio economic groups. In Jimmy Santiago Baca s poem Green Chile , he explores this connection via the use of chile peppers as a medium. Baca personifies both green and red peppers to illustrate not only that special bond, but also the historical significance of said vegetable amongst the Mexican American community. The speaker in Green Chile begins the poem by stating his fondness for red chiles. As an accompaniment to his morning feast, and as decorative items embellishing the exterior of his home. It is somewhat implied that the speaker is almost obsessed with red chiles and all that they stand for. I can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (II. 20 24) The speaker watches his grandmother prepare the green chili con carne in awe, knowing all along that she wants to please him, even if it means sacrificing her true love in order to take care of her family. Sexual metaphors aside, it is clear that the speaker loves his grandmother immensely and offers a sacrifice of his own. Even though red chiles are clearly his favorite, he is willing to clean his plate of green chili con carne, all the way down to the last bit of tortilla . He needs to a tall glass of water to fight off the intense spiciness of the dish. He even hisses from the heat, but masks his pain in order to not upset his grandmother. In the end, the grandmothers slaving away in front of the stove allowed her to vent her repressed sexual feelings and desire to be young again. She relishes in the fact that cooking will always be her escapism from the sad truth of growing old. Although their tastes differ when it comes to types of chiles, the grandmother and the speaker share a love for the traditional Mexican American garnish. They also respect each other, simply based on their actions. Here we have two individuals, from different generations, that bond over the age old tradition of food and love. The last stanza of Green Chile speaks on the ritual of vegetable stands throughout the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Her connection with wild nature (both the real, uncultivated nature and the man s sphere in society without protection), which is a major and substantial characteristic of Diana that shows her mystical power, is shown in the story by the impressions she left on Archer. He thought that at a unpruned garden, the tumbledown house, and the oak grove under which the dusk was gathering seems to be so exactly the place in which he ought to have found Madame Olenska (103). When he founds her alone in the publicity, he asked her But what on earth are you doing in this wilderness (105)? Archer s mentioning of the oak grove is another specific clue that leads to the identity of Diana, as she is actually queen of the woods in general and also goddess of the oaks in particular (Frazer, II, 380). Ellen s first name as the shortened version of Helen might also be an allusion to Diana, who is also known as Helen of the Tree (Frazer, V, 292). Besides, working in concert with May s marriage with Archer around Easter, the mutual confession of Countess Olenska and Archer takes place in middle of August, when Diana s own day is celebrated (Frazer, I, 12 14) (Scheick, 3). Moreover, the term flower of life with a little bit of ambiguity and inexplicability kind of resembles the term heart of life she used in her previous work, which refers to Diana and thus readers could suggest that the ... At line 678 he has procured a hot iron cultour which he takes to Alison s window. There, he proceeds in an attempt to lure her out with the promise of a gold ring in exchange for a kiss. Nicholas, hearing this from Alison s room, decides to make the joke better by putting his behind out the window and farting in Absolon s face, to which Absolon responds by striking him with the hot iron. It almost feels like her hand is getting warmer, when in fact mine was just rapidly cooling by the second. I was fading. It s almost time. I didn t want to go, and I could tell by the evident pain in her face that she didn t want me to, either. Sixteen years of friendship was a really long time. But in all honesty it wasn t enough. Thirty years wouldn t have been enough. Nor sixty. Not even eternity. I still would have wanted more time together, no matter how much we were given. Usually my departures go much smoother. A sad feeling in both the child and the companion s heart. But with both knowing it was time to go, and there was nothing to do to change that, it was a lot of hugs and a few goodbyes. My departure from Ryleigh was proving to be the most difficult thing I was ever to endure. In a way, I kind of wanted it to hurry up and just happen. It was taking too long. Life has many troubles including death, pain, and suffering. It leaves little hope. There are ways in which people can live to have a good life. This method of how a person should live is viewed differently thoughout the world. James Hilton represents this combination of ideas and cultures in the novel, Lost Horizon (1933). Martha served five months in a federal prison at Alderson in West Virginia and two additional years of supervised release after a portion in home confinement. Back in 2001, Martha Stewart sold all her shares from a biotech company she invested in called ImClone. Ironically, a few days after she sold her shares the company s stock fell sixteen percent after they publicly announced that the FDA did not approve ImClone s pharmaceutical product (Moffatt, 2017). • 8. Figurative Language In Truman Capote s A Christmas Memory The short story I read was A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote. The book was mainly about two characters, Buddy and his friend, and a memorable Christmas that they spent together a couple of years back before Buddy s friend passed away. Basically the whole story is a memoir, his own memories and experiences , because Buddy is reminiscing on the past and is speaking upon the memories that he remembers from that Christmas spent with his friend. Even though it was a short story, Capote did a well enough job of describing not only the characters, but also their relationship with literary devices such as figurative language, symbolism, theme, and many more. My first point will be about the author s major use of figurative language. For example, in A Christmas Memory Buddy said, She is wearing tennis shoes and a shapeless gray sweater over a summery calico dress, (Capote 12) which depicts imagery since Buddy went into detail and gave a vivid image of what his friend was wearing that day. Another example within the story was when Buddy s friend was speaking to Buddy and said I know where we ll find real pretty trees, Buddy. And Holly, too. With berries as big as your eyes. (Capote 7) Within this quote lies a simile because Buddy s friend ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 9. A Report On The Industrial Energy Audit Essay 1. Methodology The industrial energy audit may be divided into three main parts: the survey, the analysis and the proposed measures. The expected result of the energy audit is a number of measures that will increase the energy efficiency, switch from non renewable to renewable sources and decrease the energy use of the company. The result is normally presented in a report. In the three parts of the audit we have different tasks: Energy survey What do we have? Define the system boundary. Identify unit processes. Quantify energy supply. Allocate energy use to different unit processes. Energy analysis How bad is the utilization of the supplied energy? Where does it go wrong? How far can we reach? Identify both system errors and detail problems. Identify idling power and energy. Identify technologies that are far from BAT (Best Available Technology). Identify mismatching energy quality, where high quality energy is used for non demanding purposes, for example, electricity for low temperature heating. Identifying barriers and driving forces. Sum up the potential for energy efficiency and conversion for the system as a whole. Suggested measures What can we do about it? Identify possible solutions. Calculate the impact of the solutions and analyze them. Calculate the economic impact. Top down approach and iterative method the energy audit is basically a project with the aim to suggest energy efficiency and conversion ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Role Of Madness In Macbeth And nothing is but what is not (1.3.155). What matters to Macbeth is what does not exist, and those that exist do not matter: Macbeth says these words while thinking of murder. Macbeth begins his descent into madness through the act to follow. However innocent he thinks he is, he is but the serpent underneath it. Shakespeare creates his character Macbeth in a such a way that he starts off sane, and through certain actions that Shakespeare characterizes as evil, he falls. In the play Macbeth, Macbeth s mind slips far further than he had wagered and soon he is the epitome of madness. Shakespeare uses other characters as well to delineate Macbeth s mind state as the play unfolds. Such parallels are meant to emphasize and strengthen the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thou know st that Banquo, and his Fleance, lives / But in them nature s copy s not eterne. / There s comfort yet; they are assailable (3.2.41 44). Macbeth knows that his mind is diseased and while knowing that Banquo and his son is alive, his mind tricks him into thinking they are dangerous. Shakespeare compares Macbeth s mind to be full of scorpions . Scorpions attack by using their tails and stabbing poison into someone. The scorpion attacking him is his own greed and the poison is from what the greed leads to. His greed, filling his mind more and more with bad thoughts, until finally he is poisoned with the thoughts of killing to get what he wants. The idea that Macbeth s head is full of scorpions suggests that over time his thoughts are getting a little more poisoned over and over again until finally he dies. His state of mind now inhabited by scorpions leads him to making paradoxical decisions. Macbeth feels comfort in knowing that nature s copy is eterne for him but he also feels threatened by his successor being Fleance. In nutrition, energy is measured by a unit of kilocalorie or commonly called a calorie. Fifty percent of food kilocalories from eating produce ATP through reactions of glycolysis and in the mitochondria of the cell. Another fifty percent is lost as heat. Energy comes though foods and body energy reserves. Exercise will increase energy metabolism. It involves external factors and signals from certain hormones through the hypothalamus. These factors act as appetite stimulator and appetite suppressors to control energy intake and expenditure. There have been several weight loss drugs developed to treat obesity. Three of the drugs are orlistat, sibutramine, and rimonabant. Orlistat prevents fat digestions and absorption by binding to gastrointestinal lipases. The fat is blocked and fat is not digested and passed out in feces. Sibutramine works differently to affect the nerve cells in the brain that regulate appetite. Rimonabant works as a CB1 antagonist. A pluralistic society is a diverse one, where the people in it believe all kinds of different things and tolerate each other s beliefs even when they don t match their own. (Vocabulary.com). Today I m here tell you the positive of pluralist system. Especially from books of the Federalist 10 and on the use that Americans Make of Association in Civil Life. Madison feared not the wealthy or powerful but the poor. This partly from shays rebellion he feels this way because the rich are small and exclusive to one another but poor are one of many. You can relate this to many situations in America. One of these the examples is players strike in NFL as they felt they were not getting paid equally enough for enduring the hard seasons in the football league the owners had come gather and pay the players. Kind of like shays rebellion. Among the laws that rule human societies there is one that seems more precise and clearer than all the others. In order that men remain civilized or become so, the art of associating must be developed and perfected among them in the same ratio as equality of conditions increases. Tocqueville). • 17. Alienation In The Garden Of Eden The first and one of the most popular narratives in the Hebrew bible is the story of the Garden of Eden. Here, in the book of Genesis, the LORD God places Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and commands them to eat freely in of any tree in the garden, but to not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. It doesn t take long for them to disobey this command, leading to separation from the LORD God. The story of the Garden of Eden serves as a foundational narrative for early Jews by portraying Adam and Eve s alienation from the garden, from each other, and from God, revealing the need for a way back to unification with the LORD God like there was in the garden. The first thing the Lord God does after creating Adam is make a place for him to live in Eden, but Adam s actions get him sent out of the garden. After breathing life into Adam, the Lord God planted a garden in Eden, in the east; and there he put the man whom he had formed (Gen 2:7 8). Eden when translated means delight, showing that the garden that the LORD God made for Adam was a divine place. Then the LORD God commanded Adam you may eat freely of every tree of the garden; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat (Gen 2:16 17). This is the one command the LORD God gave to Adam, but he disobeys because of his selfishness and is deserving of death. Aestheticism In Wilde s Lady Gertrude Chiltern Lady Gertrude Chiltern Correspondingly, Wilde utilises Aestheticism to characterise Lady Gertrude Chiltern dissimilar to Lord Goring and Mrs Cheveley and as a touchstone of moral stability (Bose, 1999) to indicate her restraints towards the model upper class standards. Hence, Wilde undermines the Victorian English notions, particularly of marriage, as exaggeratingly hypocritical and non naturalistic (Hornychová, 2010) as it led to Lady Chiltern s disillusion and disappointment from her morally rigid admiration towards her husband s façade. Consequently, Wildes creates dramatic irony into Lady Chiltern s dialogue and develops her distaste towards Mrs Cheveley. Primarily through dramatic irony established from Lady Chiltern s prudent dialogue, Wilde depicts her stagnant pride highly tuned from societal conventions to dramatise the hypocrisy of Victorian English strictures as it negatively impacts the relationship between Lady Chiltern and Sir Chiltern. In Act 1 Scene 6, Sir Chiltern hints at his pastime indiscretions to observe Lady Chiltern s reaction where her replying dialogue stresses that one s past is what one is and that would be the only way people should be judged (1.6) and thus ironically conveys her Victorian English morality when the audience already have knowledge about Sir Chiltern s political misdemeanours. However, GM s profit mainly relies on the sale of SUVs and trucks, which is no more popular and this led to the decline of sales and revenues. In addition, GM s cars are less fuel efficient compared to its competitors such as Toyota and Honda. This resulted in a decrease of GM sales in Asian and American markets. Furthermore, there is little differentiation among the vehicles produced, so the various customer needs cannot be satisfied and it is more likely for customers to switch to other brands that have better design. 4 External Factors Powerful competitors Toyota, one of GM s most powerful competitor, has ... • 27. The Characteristics Of Ed Gein And The Leatherface In 1974, director Tobe Hooper revolutionized horror with his film inspired by a true story, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Almost immediately after the film s release, rumors began to circulate that there was an actual chainsaw wielding madman living with his deranged family in the town of Poth, Texas. The inspired events were also said to have taken place on August 18th, 1973. However, a quick check of that date reveals that the film had just wrapped four days prior, making it fairly difficult to base a film on an actual event that had yet to occur. Despite this, there was an actual skin wearing maniac that was the film s inspiration. He may not have had a chainsaw, but serial killer Ed Gein was a key inspiration for the infamous Leatherface. Born in 1906 in Plainfield, Wisconsin, Ed Gein lived most of his life as a reclusive loner. Born to an alcoholic father, George, and a fanatically religious mother, Augusta, Ed Gein suffered heavy psychological and physical abuse at the hands of his parents. Classmates remember Ed as being reclusive with strange habits. One of his most unnerving habits was to randomly laugh out loud as though someone had told a joke that only he could hear. This departure from Omelas shows that big sacrifice is needed for one s goals to be reached. No one knows what happens to these people, but they risk their lives anyways in hopes of redeeming themselves for living happily while the boy suffers. STORY COMMENTS CODE NAME TRACKER: INDIGO is a highly creative and imaginative novel that is targeted for the young adult audience. Like the TWILIGHT series one can easily envision the success of such a series of books and a possible film franchise. The novel has a strong hook with the idea of the protagonist having psychic skills. The script combines a supernatural tale with drama and dark comedy. The storyline offers intrigue, action, forbidden love, betrayal, corruption, and the supernatural. The story also offers solid twists and turns. The main storyline centers on the psychic teen searching for missing treasure. It s a smart story choice, as everyone loves the idea of finding buried treasure. This gives the novel a strong, actionable goal with merit, and it keeps the story goal focused. The subplot of the budding teen romance supports the main storyline and is fluidly integrated. One of the major strength of this novel is the compelling ensemble cast. Each character feels original and refreshing. They are complex and rich in personality. • 38. Determining The Molecular Formula Of A Hydrated Copper... Determining the Molecular Formula of a Hydrated Copper (II) Sulfate Through the Concept of Moles Introduction In this experiment, the mass percentage of water, and the molecular formula, of a hydrated copper (II) sulfate will be calculated through an understanding of hydrates, percent composition, and moles. A hydrated compound, is a compound that absorbs water molecules from the surrounding environment.1 The water molecules attach to the compound, but do not form a chemical bond. Water molecules in an inorganic hydrate can be released when the compound is heated, and become anhydrous.1 In this experiment, by heating the hydrated copper (II) sulfate, the water molecules will evaporate and separate from the compound leaving behind an anhydrous solid compound, copper (II) sulfate. The mass of which will be recorded, and used to calculate the mass of water molecules in the hydrate. The mass of the hydrate will be equal to the combined mass of the anhydrate and water molecules. It is important to note that no reaction has occurred, since chemical bond have not been formed or broken. By using the measurements found, the percent composition of water can be calculated through equation (1) by substituting water for the element. (1) % = The molecular formula will be calculated, using equation (2) to convert the mass of water and the anhydrate into moles. According to David Crook in his article How big is the Hunting Economy, there are about 13.7 million people or approximately six percent of the United States population that consider themselves to be hunters. When all of these people get up the morning of opening day there is one thing that affects the way that they hunt. Every avid hunter knows that they have to base their hunting style off of the weather. The different factors of the weather such as the temperature, wind speed, barometric pressure, and precipitation changes the way the deer move and can either make or break a deer hunter s season. The movement of a whitetail deer changes according to the weather. There are several different factors to consider when talking about the weather, but the one of the leading factors is the temperature. Some people believe that the colder it is outside, the better the hunting becomes. This is true until it gets so cold that the deer have to bed down and not move to stay warm. When the temperature begins to drop down to about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, the deer begin scrambling for food to prepare for winter and the rut. The rut is a deer s mating season. This has the deer at a constant movement and makes for prime hunting. When the temperature begins to change, the amount of movement of the deer begins to change also.
