Видео+Конференция 2013. Последние тенденции на рынке ВКС и UC&C. Лев Якупов, ...TrueConf__
Уже стало традицией, что каждую весну и осень мы проводим конференции и семинары. На Видео+Конференции 2013 мы:
На конференции мы:
- поделились последними новостями мира видеоконференцсвязи;
- рассказали, как обеспечить безопасность ВКС системы;
- и как оборудовать конференц-залы и обеспечить качественную интеграцию с внешним оборудованием;
- представили доклады о масштабных внедрениях ВКС систем в здравоохранении и образовании;
- провели практическую демонстрацию работы профессионального оборудования для видеоконференцсвязи и последних новинок в сфере ВКС.

At the core of every communication and collaboration system there is a need for a solid, well developed and proven engine that manages every interaction with users, endpoints, and applications. At the core of every communication and collaboration system there is a need for a solid, well developed and proven engine that manages every interaction with users, endpoints, and applications. Cisco Unified Communications Manager is the most widely deployed such engine in the world with more than 40 million deployments worldwide. This is the differentiator allowing the any-to-any and the Mobile, Social, Visual, and Virtual experiences that take collaboration to the next level. Cisco Unified Communications Manager was created as a platform to integrate communications and collaboration on premises, in the cloud, or as hybrid approach. It was not created to simply replicate an old PBX, as a retrofit, or as a back way into a network-based solution. Rather, it is based on the same underlying technologies of the Internet; it has always been a network-based platform. Unified Communications Manager delivers core collaboration and communication services andApplies to every element of a customer environment and can be used by every endpoint and application deployed in an enterpriseCan provide every interaction from mobility to identity, and security to licensing to session management
It’s not just about the software behind the scenes. The Cisco Unified IP Phone portfolio is a comprehensive and market-leading IP Communications portfolio offering choice of endpoints. Arguably the most comprehensive portfolio in the industry, the product options address your organization’s visual and virtual needs.Basic voice endpoints, such as the 3900 Series IP phones for simple, cost-effective business deployments Endpoints such as the 6900 and 7900 Series for more advanced business communications needs, including voice and virtualization for data support Advanced multimedia solutions, including high-quality video and video interoperability with the 8900 and 9900 Series phones Cisco also offers solutions for mobile workers, including WLAN handsets and the Cisco Cius, a mobile collaboration platform designed to extend robust and secure collaboration, computing, and communications, wherever you are.

Vblock platforms provide 2 different scale points while maintaining the consistency of experience across themVblock 300 FX which comes with a max 4 UCS chassis configuration and VNX5500 storage array supports a maximum of 100k endpointsVblock 300 GX which comes with a max 8 UCS chassis configuration and VNX5700 storage array supports a maximum of 200k endpointsThe endpoints may be distributed across a number of customers and its important to account for varied customer profiles (large number of customers with small number of endpoints or small number of customers with large number of endpoints or a mix of the 2). But VCE testing and analysis has shown that in most profile mix scenarios, the platforms selected FX or GX can support 100k and 200k total number of endpoints.SPs can make the platform selection based on their projected growth requirements. For eg. If they expect to hit the 200k endpoints mark in yr3, then starting with minimum configuration GX makes sense and they can scale up within the GX (add more chassis, blade and storage) as the services grow
Discuss FAST VP and FAST Cache and their advantages- HCS applications have very low steady state IOPS requirements but can jump up during periodic (nightly backup and database reindexing) and non-periodic (upgrades) activities VCE testing has shown that HCS applications can benefit greatly from both these technologiesA 2 tiered (SSD and NL-SAS) setup provides the right capacity and IOPs to meet the app requirements. The SSD absorbs most of the IOPS load during peak IOPS periodic activitiesFast Cache provides IOPS support during non-periodic activities such as upgrades
Here is an example of storage configuration to support 100k endpointsThe pre-Vblock recommendation would have been to deploy a single tier storage using SAS drives. A large number of drives are needed to support this configurationMoving to a tiered storage of SSD and NL-SAS drives, we see a dramatic reduction in number of disks required.A 70% drop in disks required translates to 30% drop in disk costsFAST VP provides optimized performance and lowest cost for HCS applications
Discuss a sizing example. This are the input parameters.
Results of the sizing example..showing growth to 400k endpoints by yr4Discuss scale up within a Vblock – add blades, and disks between yr 1 and yr 3Discuss scale out –add another Vblock in yr 4

What we are hearing from customers and partners is:Opex vs. CapexInteresting in moving faster on a global scaleCore vs. context barely rolled out UC and need to get to global collaborationThese are thy types of questions that customers are wrestling with.Your consumption model should be based on your business drivers and issues
