The document analyzes a film clip through textual analysis notes. It summarizes that the opening establishing shot sets a dark, mysterious woods setting accompanied by tense music. Cross cuts with fade effects maintain continuity. Long shots show a girl alone in casual clothes, making her vulnerable but not provocatively dressed. Over the shoulder shots of a boy create mystery around the antagonist's identity and suspense through low lighting and music. The parallel editing depicts the girl and boy in a way that portrays teenagers negatively as alone and at risk in the woods.

2. The first opening shot is an establishing shot of the setting to give the audience a feel for the film,
this is accompanied by non diegetic mysterious music that builds up tension and a scary
atmosphere. We are shown the setting which is in the woods so automatically has the
stereotypical feel of a horror movie. The low lighting in the clip adds to the dark and mysterious
feel.
The cross cut has effects such as a fade to make it flow well this makes it feel as if it has good
continuity. The long shot of the girl lets the audience establish her clothing and scenery, It shows
that she is alone which could be seen as a negative representation however she is wearing casual
clothes which are not provocative, this can be seen as a positive representation.
The over the shoulder shots of the boy have a negative representation, they create mystery due to
the fact that we never see the antagonists identity, this also creates suspense for the audience.
Alongside the over the shoulder shots is low lighting to make it feel more scary and the non
diegetic synchronous music, all of these factors add up to build a tense atmosphere.
The long shots of the girl intertwined with over the shoulder shots of the boy show us a negative
representation of the girl and teenagers over all because she is seen to be walking on her own in
the middle of the woods which looks like at night from the lighting, and is therefore vulnerable,
week and naive, however some people may see these factors as a stereotype and not a negative
representation.
The tense parallel music throughout helps build a tense atmosphere, alongside the fading effects
this makes it feel like a horror film I have researched. Overall, it shows teenagers to not be very
responsible which shows a negative representation.
