According to Swami Vivekananda, “The type of the status assigned to women
in any society reflect the nature of its cultural richness and the level of its
civilization standards. And that country and that nation which did not respect
women have never become great nor will ever in future”.

To know the views of the society regarding gender equality.
To arrive at solutions to improve the status of women in society.

12. Findings:
The survey reveals that a majority of respondents feel that women and
men are not treated equally in the society.
It is understood that women are not given equal opportunity as men and
they are not safe.
It is found through the survey that majority of women are exploited .They
are exploited in the form of sexual harassment, dowry, education and so
on.
Study reveals that even in this era girl children are killed and thrown off.
13. Suggestions:
Conducting communication camp again in favor of girls.
Freedom to think and express their feeling.
To encourage the women to participate in economic
activity.
Enactment of stringent laws for abuse of women.
14. Conclusion:
Women in India are not yet equal to men. There is no legal constitutional barriers to
equality. There is only social barrier. Women in India are more after a “respectable”
and “meaningful” social status which is free from all sort of exploitation. They want
their interest to be protected and problems to be solved.
“Gender equality is not a woman’s issue, it is a human issue. It affects us all”.
