As per the AACR2 update (2005) glossary definition:
• The term ‘electronic resource’ applies to all resources
(data and/or program(s)) that are encoded for manipulation
by a computerized device.
• Electronic resources consist of:
➢Data: Digital / electronic information representing
numbers, text, graphics, images, maps, moving images,
music, sounds, etc.
➢Programs: Digital / electronic instructions, etc., that
process the data for use
➢Combinations of data and programs
