Cars Vs Trucks Research Paper
There are more than 253 Million cars and trucks in the U.S at this moment. That sounds like a lot
but really it isn't that many. For every 1.3 cars or trucks there is only one person in the United States.
With this many cars and trucks in the U.S. there is bound to be some controversy about which one is
better. Many people may prefer trucks over cars and in vice versa. They both have their advantages
and disadvantages. While trucks are better at hauling or towing things, cars have better gas mileage
and can hold more people.
One of the benefits to having a truck is that you can haul big objects and even tow other vehicles. In
a truck you may be able to haul things like furniture or hay for your animals. I have personal
experience with trucks. My mom has to haul hay for our animals. Trucks are also good for towing
other vehicles out of ditches. When cars and other trucks get stuck in the ditch another truck can
help pull them out. Unfortunately cars can't haul big objects or tow other vehicles. According to
globe cars brand, "Since cars are equipped with a smaller engine, it is usually difficult to tow other
vehicles. On the other hand trucks are more powerful, thus it is incredibly easy to tow other
vehicles." Trucks have more power than a car does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the cars made today get great gas mileage. A Hyundai Accent can get almost 38 mpg,
compared to a Toyota Tundra which gets about 15 mpg. On average a person who owns a tuck
would spend about $30–$40 in gas a week, compared to a car owner who might spent $15 –$20 in
gas a week. If you have a higher gas mileage, you should be saving money. With all the money you
are saving from the gas mileage, you can save up for many different things you wanted such as
college or a raining day. Many people who don't have as much money would enjoy having a little
extra money. They could save the money to help them out in hard

Process Essay On Buying A Truck
Buying a truck can be a fairly substantial expense for you and your family, typically because the
average truck is going to be more expensive than most of the other vehicle types on the market.
Listed below are just three of the many ways available to you that can help you save money on a
truck.
Don't Buy A Larger Truck Than You Actually Need
One of the biggest mistakes you can make when buying a truck is to buy a larger truck than you
actually need, mostly because the price of trucks will steadily increase as you get larger and more
capable trucks. However, the largest and most capable trucks are not always necessary for many
individuals.
For example, if you are not planning on towing 12,000 pounds or more, then there is really no need
for you to consider buying some of the largest trucks available as you won't actually be using them
to their full specifications. In that situation, you will basically be paying a premium every month
when you make your vehicle payment for a level of performance that you are never actually going
to utilize. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can result in a vehicle that is only a year old being thousands of dollars cheaper than a brand–
new model of that exact same vehicle. You can leverage this price difference by either getting a
vehicle with a much lower monthly payment or buying a truck for the same price as the new one but
that is substantially better equipped and that is a higher–end and better–equipped model that you
may not be able to afford brand–new.

Food Truck Research Paper
Food trucks are part of summer, and no matter how hard you argue they offer a different service. Of
course a food truck can cost a fraction of what a brick and mortar place costs. But, they also have
overhead costs. Try and comply with a Health Unit inspection in 100 square feet. Generators,
permits, appliances, fridges etc and not many cheap and easy ways to handle, and prep food. Of
course it's a lot easier to make a living selling nothing but fries when you don't have to cover the
overhead of a building first.
Most of the food trucks have a steady traffic for lunch, which puts them at odds with the restaurants
because it drains away the lunch crowd. Some restaurant owners, on the other hand, are split. A few
are defensive and annoyed by the incursion of food trucks into "their markets," but just as many
appeared to be really interested in the trucks as the advent of another food revolution. Some are even
actively pursuing the concept themselves – thinking of a food truck as either an option to expand
their existing brand and customer base or even a next step after the restaurant for him. ... Show more

Have you ever thought how much more handicap accessible food trucks are than restaurants? This is
versus fighting doors on so called "accessible" restaurants, with tables that do not work for a chair,
aisles that are often too small, and wait staff that do not understand that handicapped people don't
move as fast as they do. How many handicapped accessible places do you have on Bridge Street?
Think about it. Because the buildings are older they don't fall into the same laws as newer buildings.

Narrative About Truck
"I'm really in Love This Time" I've worked all summer to receive what I most desired. My 1999
Dodge Dakota. I have a love/hate relationship with this vehicle. Three grand got me something that I
never knew I could for the amount it was worth. I never knew about this vehicle until my friend
Ryan brought it up. This is not a very big truck, but it is not very small either. This 5.2l V8 gives me
chills. I wake up to the sound of it in the morning, even though I wake up the whole neighborhood.
My mother hates that I take it to work at 5 o'clock in the morning. She stumbles out of bet to hear a
monstrous V8. I had no plans on getting one, but it was appealing to the eye as I was scrolling
through Offer Up. Three grand for a truck that is as

Chevy Colorado Truck Essay
The Chevrolet Colorado Provides Best–In–Class Performance and Comfort
The Chevrolet Colorado puts the power of a truck into the hands of those who are looking for
something lightweight, but with cargo and towing capacity. A full–sized truck is not always the best
answer, especially when driveway or garage space is limited. The smaller midsize Colorado offers
all of the benefits of a truck without taking up the space of a full–sized truck.
In 2004, General Motors introduced the Colorado as a replacement for their popular S10 trucks, and
the Colorado has proven to be just as popular. The 2016 diesel model is the proud recipient of the
2016 Motor Trend Truck of the Year award. The diesel is a new model option for 2016.
The Colorado offers power, performance and fuel efficiency. Its 2.8L turbo diesel engine sports 181
hp and gives the truck the best–in–class towing capacity of 7,700 lbs, which makes it a good choice
for work or play. It is perfectly equipped to tow a boat or an equipment trailer. This model also
delivers the best–in–class fuel economy of 31 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg on the city streets. If
you want more power, the 3.6L DOHC V6 delivers 305 hp at 6,800 rpms with a rear axle ratio of

For Diesel Trucks: Yes, normally it does cost extra to repair a truck as it gets older, significantly for
the Diesel Trucks. In our analysis, we found that in the second year the mean of the yearly R&M
expense for trucks 2 & 3 decreased by $46.00 and in the third year for trucks 5 & 6 the mean for
R&M expense increased by $188.00. Thus, there is definitely an upward trend. We also noted that

restaurant. A food truck can go to where the customers are. It has pretty low overhead, compared to
a restaurant, and requires far less staff. However a food truck is still a business that requires a lot of
work and attention– especially in the first couple of years. Food truck owners put in long days and

can cost between $20,000 – $40,000. A new food truck can be as much as $100,000. If you are

commercial restaurant kitchen. 7. Get the Word Out About Your Food Truck Business. The good

Should A Truck Be Restricted Essay
Even though That the lifted trucks will be less likely to see small vehicles and therefore become
more likely to rear end them., they should not be restricted because it is basically telling a person
that you can't drive a big truck because we the government can't because lifted trucks will also have
to be more wealthy people because a higher lift would be more expensive causing that person to
more likely have insurance and lifted trucks will be more likely to be alert because they are driving a
bigger truck. The height of a person is not restricted, So why should the height of a person's truck be
restricted? Cops have pulled over trucks that are majorly big or huge and the cops treat them
differently then they would treat a regular car that got pulled over. A truck's height should not be
restricted because that is basically saying your truck can only be this high because it supposedly
becomes a "hazard" when it is huge but it isn't. I mean any lift over 3' would be illegal because it
would raise the bumper more than 3 inches and in order to stay street legal your frame cannot be

Semi drivers who drive big trucks are always more aware after a good night's sleep. So a truck
owner that has a big truck as a daily driver will be more aware . This helps because it shows that
lifted truck drivers are more aware of their surroundings. Other people would say, "But when
driving at night, lifted truck drivers won't be as aware." They are wrong because it is just like when
any regular family goes on vacation. If they are too tired they stop driving and sleep at a hotel for a

Food Truck Expanitory The choices about most of my food truck decision were of two sorts, the
ones made as they came and the ones who were planned much in advance. The large part of the food
truck assignment, the truck itself, was one of the few drawn out parts of the project. For a while I
thought of a few ideas, the first of which was the name, Seaside Rainmaker. The two main parts of
my project really revolved around the lack of water in the world, and the technological solutions
provided to solve them, the real main focus of which was desalination. Seaside, really made sense
because it is both related to water and sounds like a generally positive place to be, even if my project
really was not tackling positive issues. Rainmaker, felt appropriate because I really wanted to know
about the ways to produce water. Together they come off naturally like a regular business name.
Other names choices included, That Dry Spot, The Water Hole, and the Oasis. Moving away from

I think the first was obvious, and having a humorous item on the menu was refreshing. The "Ocean
Breeze" certainly had the markings of the salt water that was mentioned thoroughly through both my
blog and research paper, and although technically not a food per say, it is drinkable. "Aquifer Lemon
Tea" just made sense, again linking the menu to a liquid, like water, and having something I
researched in the name. "Osmosis Latte", another drink, related to desalination because it is one of
main processes that desalination really uses, reverse osmosis. It being a latte, and a latte normally
being very expensive, much like the plants themselves connected in a positive way. The "Sponge
Cake" became a play on words for real sponges, which relates loosely and fits in with the rest of the
types of drinks as a dessert to drink with. Finally my "Unloaded Espresso Roast" was another menu
item representing conservation of

Truck Drivers Research Paper
Some drivers of average sized–passenger cars become (understandably) nervous when driving in the
same vicinity as an 18–wheeler. After all, the smaller vehicle would not likely come out on the
winning end should there be a collision. The sheer size and weight of those large commercial trucks
can create potentially hazardous conditions for the truck drivers and other motorists alike.
Some of the more notable dangers are the extensive blind spots that surround the truck in relation to
its size. These blind spots are called the no–zone areas. Any vehicle that moves into one of these
zones essentially disappears from sight and cannot be seen by the truck driver whenever he changes
lanes or makes a turn.
Other drivers can improve their own safety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Just the same, it is not a wise idea to speed around the 18–wheeler to cut it off. This is not
necessarily because the trucker cannot see you. Rather it is not safe because it is much more difficult
for a vehicle that size to slow down quickly. If other drivers fail to give them enough room, it may
lead to a serious rear end accident.
A good general thought to follow is to leave at least one car length for every ten miles an hour that
the driver of the smaller vehicle is traveling. In other words, drivers who are going 50 mph need to
leave at least five car lengths of space. So remember not to pull in front of the semi truck and
suddenly hit the brakes. The truck driver will need a lot more space to slow down than you will.
Rear No–Zone
Driving behind a truck in its rear no–zone may not seem like such a big deal. However, much like
the front no–zone, it is dangerous largely because you cannot see around the truck. You cannot see
what might be coming, which will affect your ability to make adjustments or slow down. Also, truck
drivers are unable to know if someone is tailgating their trailer. Making a sudden stop can suddenly
throw you into a dangerous

Semi Truck Collision
A high–speed collision with any vehicle can be devastating. However, a high–speed collision of a
car with a semi truck often has a grim outcome for the motorist. The rear underride guards of semi
trailers don't offer much in the way of a crumple zone for absorbing impact energy.
Damaged or rusted guards offer virtually no protection at all. In addition, hitting one at an offset
(with the front left or right side of your car) causes severe damage to the car and may demolish the
area occupied by the driver or right front passenger. Finally, a high–speed collision with the side of a
trailer, which lacks an underride guard, can shear off the top half of a car.
How do these car/truck accidents happen? Often when the semi truck is invisible. In ... Show more

Fog obscures clear visual references that you rely on to judge speed, and produces the illusion of
going too slow. This phenomenon, combined with an impaired ability to judge distance, can cause a
fatal delay in applying the brakes when you do sense that you're closing in on a truck. Slow down
and keep an eye on your speedometer. Don't "out drive" the distance that you can see in front.
Trucks with Dirty Trailer Lights and Reflectors
Without working lights or reflectors, the trailer of a semi truck at night is invisible. It's rare for a
trucker to drive around with all of his trailer lights burnt out. On the other hand, lights and reflectors
covered in dirt, mud, or salt are more common. Dirt covered lights and reflectors are just as
hazardous as not having them at all.
What appears to be an oncoming semi truck in the opposite lane could be a truck pulling into the
lane from a side road to your right. The lights you see are the tractor's headlights in the opposite
lane. What you don't see is the invisible trailer crossing your path in front of you. Here is an
animated simulation of this with a truck pulling a flatbed

Truck Bed Rails Essay
One of the best things about owning a truck is the fact that you have all that room in the bed.
However, you will find that it can be a bit difficult to protect the sides of the bed from scratches,
dents and dings. One of the best options is to install truck bed rails; these devices not only protect
your truck from the ravages of cargo, but also can help create a dramatic sense of style for your ride.
Of course, the solution is not as simple as popping a couple of rails on your truck and hauling off
down the road. You'll need to follow a few steps to get the look and protection that you need.
1. Choose Your Rails – You will first need to find truck bed rails that fit your make and model. As

Neither half–rails nor full rails provide protection for the lip of the tailgate or the portion of the bed
underneath the rear windshield.
3. Determine the Metal Type – As mentioned, most truck bed rails are made with tubular steel.
However, you should ensure that yours are created with chromed (or powder coated) stainless steel
to ensure the utmost in durability and quality. Choosing a set of rails made with inferior metal will
result in a short–lived solution that looks bad after only a year or two out in the weather.
4. Determine the Installation Method – Several types of installation are used to mount different
types of truck bed rails. You will need to find a set that is simple and easy to install. Most sets are
available with "no drill" installation; however, if you choose a set that does require drilling, be
prepared for a bit of effort.
5. Warranty Coverage – No matter what style of rails you purchase, you must ensure that the
manufacturer offers a warranty. This will save your investment in the case of early discoloration,
cracking or other damage that is not caused directly by you. You should never purchase rails from a
manufacturer that does not offer a lifetime

of construction. It also has a two piece body, the cab and the bed. The car has a small, red, stream
line body designed for aerodynamics. It has a "uni–body" design, meaning the body and the frame is
one thing. "body–on–frame" means that the body sits on the frame and is removable. Secondly, the
safety features on the car are vastly superior to the ones on the truck. The car has breaking points all
over its body, so that in a wreck it will be damaged worse to soften the impact. The truck just has a
rigid steel body designed to stay intact, while that's better for repairs, it's not better for injuries. My
car also has airbags, anti–lock brakes, and a three point seat belt. The truck has a two point seatbelt
also known as a lap belt. The car is remarkably safer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The "V" shape helps with making the engine smaller while keeping the same amount of power and
torque, while the truck has an inline 6 cylinder, meaning the cylinders are in a straight line making

that the fuel in injected into the engine on start up and allows it to make better performance. The

Hot sand specs, wet dirt, some scrapes, minor bleeding and burns mixed with sweat can be seen

Truck Drivers
Truck drivers or truckers are considered transporters because their work entails driving container
loads of various products to designated locations. Trucking companies ensure that people living in
remote areas get the supplies they need for daily living. This means truck drivers put in long hours,
face season changes the best way that they can and brave the rather insecure nature of their trade to
meet their deadlines.
Qualifications for Truck Driving
1.CDL – For you to apply for trucking company jobs you must acquire a Commercial Driver's
License (CDL) which permits you to operate a commercial motor vehicle. Commercial motor
vehicles weigh 26, 000 pounds or higher while the vehicle in tow should weigh more than 10,000
pounds. A more inclusive definition of commercial motor vehicles incorporates school buses,
vehicles carrying sixteen or more passengers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If your CDL classification is Class A, you need your own insurance because you will most probably
qualify for local truck driving company jobs. Class B and C CDL may guarantee you CDL trucking
jobs like driving a tour bus or school bus and your employer may provide insurance as a work
benefit which is an advantage.
3.Physique – There is physical labor involved while working for trucking company jobs such as
loading and unloading of supplies and fixing small mechanical problems that arise while you are on
the road. It would be prudent to ensure you prepare your body through lifting weights and strength
training.
Types of Trucking Company Jobs
You can choose from various trucking company jobs such as a heavy tractor trailer truck driver with
a high school education and a CDL or an oil field truck driver, who sometimes hauls hazardous
materials and attracts a higher salary due to the dangerous nature of the work.
Other truck driving jobs include:

67–72 Chevy Trucks In this paper, I will be explaining most, if not all, of the differences between
1967–1972 Chevrolet pickup trucks. What I mean when I say that is these trucks all have the same
body style, but a lot of little differences that I think make them better or worse. For example, the
1967 Chevy truck has no marker lights on both the front and rear quarter panels, which is one of the
more noticeable changes from the 1967 to 1968 models. There is a pattern in the styles they use like
the 1967 and 1968 have the same grills and hoods. Then in 1969, the grill and hood change a little
bit but it is practically the same thing. The grill got a little bit of a change in 1970 but it is very
minor and hardly noticeable and 1971 and 1972 the grills ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The most visible change in telling the difference in a 1968 from a 1967 was the addition of side–
marker reflectors on all fenders. Also, the small rear window cab was no longer available. Another
addition was the Custom Comfort and Convenience interior package that was better than the
Standard cab and more low class that the CST cab options. C10 or K10 models could be
manufactured with either a 115–inch wheel base with a 6 1/2–foot cargo box or 127– inch
wheelbase with an 8–foot cargo box available in Fleet side or Step side models. Standard Features
included Full–width seat with vinyl trim, deluxe air heater/defroster, backup lights, painted front
bumper because chrome bumpers are not considered "standard". Also the 1968 Chevy trucks came
with a 2–speed windshield wiper and directional signals. For about 160 dollars more, the CST
(Custom Sport Truck) package could be ordered which had all of the features listed above, plus
Western style vinyl seats, roof rim molding, carpeting for the floor panels and also for the gas tank,

Have you been in a trucking accident? Let our personal injury attorneys help you.
Truck drivers are professionals who have been provided specialized training to follow regulations
that establish driving their large vehicles across the country, including Texas. However, it is an
unfortunate truth that sometimes these companies put their bottom line ahead of public safety and
the people of Texas and across the country pay for it.
Due to the congested areas in Dallas, Houston, and surrounding urban areas in Texas, trucking
accidents are often devastating. One reason that these accidents are common is that these trucks are
so large that they have many blind spots. The more crowded the area, such as many of the large

Due to numerous car accidents and deaths, I think riding in the back of a pickup truck should be
illegal. I've always heard that it's illegal to ride in the back of a pickup truck in some states such as
Georgia and Colorado because of seatbelt laws and light restrictions. On the other hand, other few
states have no laws about riding in the back of a pickup truck because of agricultural activities,
special events, emergency situations and etc. Also, some of the states contain rural areas where
pickup trucks are needed for work uses and farming operations. The purposes of a pickup truck are
designed to carry cargo or heavy object, not people. People find many ways to avoid this law by

Food Truck Cost Essay
Techniques and Cost:
Food truck space is limited, so the types of equipment available to produce the foods for the
customers must be resourceful. The same goes for the number of employees, 2 to three employees
will be allowed at any given time. They will have assigned tasks depending on time constraints and
amount of people ordering.
Costs of operating the food truck will consist of rent of the location being used per day or leased
monthly, and gas and electricity if both are needed to operate the truck, garbage and waste facility to
empty out the truck at end of each day (requirement for food trucks), cost of food sales products and
ingredients, and employee wages which will be calculated at about 2 to 3 employees per day.

Private space
For more control of your kitchen space, you can rent a private location. Having a private
commercial kitchen space will cost you more than sharing one, but you also have the ability to work
at your own pace and have more room for yourself. Another benefit of having a private space is the
ability to be able to store more ingredients. This would also be a cost saver in one aspect by being
able to purchase items in bulk that you wouldn't be able to purchase with a shared space.
Site Plans:
In the state of California, the permits and requirements for where to place your food truck is entirely
up to the city or county. For most food truck owners, relying on their existing power and generators
is their goal. One possibility is by using a commissary regularly over night, to keep your truck
running throughout the busy day. The site and what consists of the site is what will help with the

As
with most other accessories, rails that fit a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Pros And Cons Of Truck Drivers
The one thing that commercial or owner operator truckers dread the most is getting into an accident.
Given the weight and size of a semi–rig compared to the average car, an accident can be very
serious if not catastrophic. To make matters worse, even the most careful truck drivers aren't
guaranteed that they won't have an accident at some point in their careers. The reason is that any one
of the motor vehicles on the road can do something unexpected that leaves the truck driver with no
way out.
However, one defense against this is learning how to read the intentions of other drivers. This gives
you a heads up on the possible dangerous maneuvers of the traffic around you. Here are three tips on
how to do this:

Your flatbed truck is a dispensable tool that allows you to haul cargo like hay bales and lumber, but
sometimes you would like to use your truck to tow a fifth wheel. With the B&W Companion Flatbed

the regular Companion from B&W uses, but this one is made for the steel flatbed. It can tow up to
22,000 pounds and can sit in a well that is up to 4–inches deep that is 20–inches by 20–inches. It
does not need rails for installation because it uses the B&W Turnoverball system that mounts under
the bed. It makes the hitch easily removable when you need to go back to hauling hay bales or

Persuasive Speech On Truck Driving
On December 18th, 2017, the Trump administration implemented new safety regulations that require
commercial truck drivers to use electronic logging devices.
And these are some of the current trucking–related headlines "Trucking is right now ... experiencing
a severe crisis". "Trucking Industry Struggles with Growing Driver Shortage". You might think to
yourself: "I haven't noticed it". Or "how is this related to me?" But how about this one: "Truck
driver shortage leading to increased prices at stores". Are they related? Does this affect you? I'll
explain to you in my speech that the answer is "YES" to both questions.
I have been working as a semi–truck driver for more than a decade. And all that time, since the day I
got my commercial driver's license, till my final day as a truck driver, the major concern for truck
drivers was the approaching day for transitioning from paper to electronic logbooks. <<< Logbook

This was actually presented as the main reason for introducing electronic logbooks. Now that

found with this article is, that it had a lot of statements, but not a single fact or statistical number that
would be from legitimate source and could be checked. I did a quick research on Google.
Everything is online these days as you know. According to Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – 75 to 80 percent of car–truck
crashes are caused by car drivers. Of those 20 to 25 percent accidents caused by truck drivers, only
less than 10 percent are caused because of fatigue. Accidents are actually mostly caused because of
tire problems, or unfamiliar, new route for a truck

Flatbed Truck Case Study
This is what I heard:
In general things seems to be going well. One safety incident had occurred with taking the sides off
a flatbed truck. Trace had concerns with the amount effort required to report the incident and
develop an action plan. He was also concern with how the action plan could be implemented and the
larger operational implications for utilizing the flatbed truck. Trace explained that a two–person lift
doesn't seem feasible, since the panels are not the large and having two people lift them may cause
additional issues/complications (e.g. you won't always have two people available to lift the rails).
Redesign of the bed could be expensive and would require support to be permanently installed,
which could cause access issues. The second CPS flatbed truck has a different rail system design
with swing gates, but it causes access issues.
Trace also mentioned concerns with the process for developing a ... Show more content on

Trace is frustrated with level of effort require for incident reporting and seems to feel that HSE is

The Food Truck I Visited
The food truck I visited is called Froyo To Go in Washington D.C. It was a franchised food truck of
Froyo To Go in Crystal city, Virginia. The franchisor Froyo To Go itself opened the store since the
end of 2013 as its food truck ended its operation from May, 2012. Froyo To Go sells freshly made
frozen yogurt with fresh fruit toppings, which were all made from natural and organic ingredients.
The main idea for the owner of the food truck was to deliver the health concept to people.
Each portion of frozen yogurt was sold for six dollars with two toppings on it. Various fresh fruits
were included in the choices of toppings, such as kiwi, strawberry and banana. The biggest
advantage of Froyo To Go, expressed by the owner, was the healthy and fresh toppings with the
frozen yogurt for the image his product shows is healthier and thus more attractive to customers than
others. The competition is rather low comparing with other food trucks in this area with rare similar
products were sold around.
Before having this food truck, the owner said that the food trucks he saw were all selling heavy meal
such as spicy food from south America, fast food like hot dogs, burgers and kabobs.
One of the biggest reasons why he chose and became one of the franchisee food truck of Froyo To
Go was that the mobility gave him freedom to deliver his concept –offering healthy food, more
pervasively. The healthy benefits were also listed outside of the truck telling and attracting people to
purchase.

Self-Driving Trucks
Self–driving trucks have become a major scare for the trucking industry. Although uber's Advanced
Technology Group is promoting the positives of the new technology, truck drivers are realizing that
their jobs are not secure. Uber believes that self–driving trucks will majorly increase supply,
demand, and the amount of trucking jobs. The work that humans provide during drives is not
matchable. Truck drivers move axles, check brakes, check are hoses, and communicate with outside
sources. The more computerized jobs become, the less necessity there will be for manual labor.
Demand Relationship: This relates the prices to the quantity demanded. The article states, "If the
self–driving trucks are used more efficiently, it would drive down the cost of freight, which would
stimulate demand." This is an exceptional example of demand relationship in the it displays how
lower prices would raise demand. Uber thinks the demand for freight will create a greater need for
truck drivers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Uber, self–driving trucks will largely increase the amount of freight that can be sold.
As a result of the supply growth, more jobs will be created. It is hard to see a correlation between
self–driving trucks and a job surge for truck drivers.
Market Equilibrium: This means that supply and demand are equal. It was predicted that the demand
for more freight will rise and supply will grow in order to match the high demand. Many companies
strive for market equilibrium, so it is obvious that the trucking industry would benefit greatly in
goods and services.
Movement Along the Demand Curve: This occurs when there is a change in both price and the
quantity demanded. The article demonstrated that a decrease in the cost of freight would raise the
demand for it. The relationship between a lower price and higher demand is displayed accurately in
this article with the desire for more efficient self–driving

A tow truck is a special emergency vehicle designed to tow or pull disabled vehicles out of the
roadway to a safer location. It is also commonly used to confiscate illegally parked vehicles. Most
tow trucks are based on a medium truck or heavy–duty pickup chassis.
There are three main types of tow trucks in use today: hook and chain, axle cradling, and flatbed.
The hook and chain is the oldest type of tow truck; it uses chains around the towed vehicle. The axle
cradling type features a large metal yoke that is fitted under the front wheels; a hydraulic hoist then
lifts the front end of the vehicle so it can be towed. The flatbed type of tow truck has a bed at the

Weigh My Truck Research Paper
Fleet owners, carriers and individual truckers are all governed by federal restrictions when it comes
to the weight of vehicles that operate on the Interstate Highway System, which covers roughly
50,000 miles of limited access, divided highways that traverse the country. States also set their own
commercial vehicle weight standards and limits. Currently, federal standards allow for 20,000
pounds on a single axle, 34,000 pounds on a tandem axle and 80,000 gross vehicle weight. Failure
to comply with these limits results in fines and unnecessary delays. Heavy–duty and semi–truck
technology helps keep drivers and carriers out of trouble and in compliance with the restrictions.
CAT Scale Locators
The only way to comply with federal weight restrictions for trucks is to weigh the vehicle to assure
it's compliant. This is done via a certified CAT scale where the truck and trailer drive over a scale
and the axle weight and total vehicle weight are calculated. Locating a CAT scale nearby is a simple
matter with an app that can be downloaded and used from any smartphone. One app, called Weigh

  • 5. Cars Vs Trucks Research Paper There are more than 253 Million cars and trucks in the U.S at this moment. That sounds like a lot but really it isn't that many. For every 1.3 cars or trucks there is only one person in the United States. With this many cars and trucks in the U.S. there is bound to be some controversy about which one is better. Many people may prefer trucks over cars and in vice versa. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. While trucks are better at hauling or towing things, cars have better gas mileage and can hold more people. One of the benefits to having a truck is that you can haul big objects and even tow other vehicles. In a truck you may be able to haul things like furniture or hay for your animals. I have personal experience with trucks. My mom has to haul hay for our animals. Trucks are also good for towing other vehicles out of ditches. When cars and other trucks get stuck in the ditch another truck can help pull them out. Unfortunately cars can't haul big objects or tow other vehicles. According to globe cars brand, "Since cars are equipped with a smaller engine, it is usually difficult to tow other vehicles. On the other hand trucks are more powerful, thus it is incredibly easy to tow other vehicles." Trucks have more power than a car does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many of the cars made today get great gas mileage. A Hyundai Accent can get almost 38 mpg, compared to a Toyota Tundra which gets about 15 mpg. On average a person who owns a tuck would spend about $30–$40 in gas a week, compared to a car owner who might spent $15 –$20 in gas a week. If you have a higher gas mileage, you should be saving money. With all the money you are saving from the gas mileage, you can save up for many different things you wanted such as college or a raining day. Many people who don't have as much money would enjoy having a little extra money. They could save the money to help them out in hard ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Process Essay On Buying A Truck Buying a truck can be a fairly substantial expense for you and your family, typically because the average truck is going to be more expensive than most of the other vehicle types on the market. Listed below are just three of the many ways available to you that can help you save money on a truck. Don't Buy A Larger Truck Than You Actually Need One of the biggest mistakes you can make when buying a truck is to buy a larger truck than you actually need, mostly because the price of trucks will steadily increase as you get larger and more capable trucks. However, the largest and most capable trucks are not always necessary for many individuals. For example, if you are not planning on towing 12,000 pounds or more, then there is really no need for you to consider buying some of the largest trucks available as you won't actually be using them to their full specifications. In that situation, you will basically be paying a premium every month when you make your vehicle payment for a level of performance that you are never actually going to utilize. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can result in a vehicle that is only a year old being thousands of dollars cheaper than a brand– new model of that exact same vehicle. You can leverage this price difference by either getting a vehicle with a much lower monthly payment or buying a truck for the same price as the new one but that is substantially better equipped and that is a higher–end and better–equipped model that you may not be able to afford brand–new. • 17. Food Truck Research Paper Food trucks are part of summer, and no matter how hard you argue they offer a different service. Of course a food truck can cost a fraction of what a brick and mortar place costs. But, they also have overhead costs. Try and comply with a Health Unit inspection in 100 square feet. Generators, permits, appliances, fridges etc and not many cheap and easy ways to handle, and prep food. Of course it's a lot easier to make a living selling nothing but fries when you don't have to cover the overhead of a building first. Most of the food trucks have a steady traffic for lunch, which puts them at odds with the restaurants because it drains away the lunch crowd. Some restaurant owners, on the other hand, are split. A few are defensive and annoyed by the incursion of food trucks into "their markets," but just as many appeared to be really interested in the trucks as the advent of another food revolution. Some are even actively pursuing the concept themselves – thinking of a food truck as either an option to expand their existing brand and customer base or even a next step after the restaurant for him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Have you ever thought how much more handicap accessible food trucks are than restaurants? This is versus fighting doors on so called "accessible" restaurants, with tables that do not work for a chair, aisles that are often too small, and wait staff that do not understand that handicapped people don't move as fast as they do. How many handicapped accessible places do you have on Bridge Street? Think about it. Because the buildings are older they don't fall into the same laws as newer buildings. • 21. Narrative About Truck "I'm really in Love This Time" I've worked all summer to receive what I most desired. My 1999 Dodge Dakota. I have a love/hate relationship with this vehicle. Three grand got me something that I never knew I could for the amount it was worth. I never knew about this vehicle until my friend Ryan brought it up. This is not a very big truck, but it is not very small either. This 5.2l V8 gives me chills. I wake up to the sound of it in the morning, even though I wake up the whole neighborhood. My mother hates that I take it to work at 5 o'clock in the morning. She stumbles out of bet to hear a monstrous V8. • 25. Chevy Colorado Truck Essay The Chevrolet Colorado Provides Best–In–Class Performance and Comfort The Chevrolet Colorado puts the power of a truck into the hands of those who are looking for something lightweight, but with cargo and towing capacity. A full–sized truck is not always the best answer, especially when driveway or garage space is limited. The smaller midsize Colorado offers all of the benefits of a truck without taking up the space of a full–sized truck. In 2004, General Motors introduced the Colorado as a replacement for their popular S10 trucks, and the Colorado has proven to be just as popular. The 2016 diesel model is the proud recipient of the 2016 Motor Trend Truck of the Year award. The diesel is a new model option for 2016. The Colorado offers power, performance and fuel efficiency. Its 2.8L turbo diesel engine sports 181 hp and gives the truck the best–in–class towing capacity of 7,700 lbs, which makes it a good choice for work or play. It is perfectly equipped to tow a boat or an equipment trailer. This model also delivers the best–in–class fuel economy of 31 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg on the city streets. If you want more power, the 3.6L DOHC V6 delivers 305 hp at 6,800 rpms with a rear axle ratio of 3.42. The V6 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 37. Should A Truck Be Restricted Essay Even though That the lifted trucks will be less likely to see small vehicles and therefore become more likely to rear end them., they should not be restricted because it is basically telling a person that you can't drive a big truck because we the government can't because lifted trucks will also have to be more wealthy people because a higher lift would be more expensive causing that person to more likely have insurance and lifted trucks will be more likely to be alert because they are driving a bigger truck. The height of a person is not restricted, So why should the height of a person's truck be restricted? Cops have pulled over trucks that are majorly big or huge and the cops treat them differently then they would treat a regular car that got pulled over. A truck's height should not be restricted because that is basically saying your truck can only be this high because it supposedly becomes a "hazard" when it is huge but it isn't. • 41. Food Truck Research Paper Food Truck Expanitory The choices about most of my food truck decision were of two sorts, the ones made as they came and the ones who were planned much in advance. The large part of the food truck assignment, the truck itself, was one of the few drawn out parts of the project. For a while I thought of a few ideas, the first of which was the name, Seaside Rainmaker. The two main parts of my project really revolved around the lack of water in the world, and the technological solutions provided to solve them, the real main focus of which was desalination. Seaside, really made sense because it is both related to water and sounds like a generally positive place to be, even if my project really was not tackling positive issues. Rainmaker, felt appropriate because I really wanted to know about the ways to produce water. Together they come off naturally like a regular business name. Other names choices included, That Dry Spot, The Water Hole, and the Oasis. Moving away from just the name, the construction and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think the first was obvious, and having a humorous item on the menu was refreshing. The "Ocean Breeze" certainly had the markings of the salt water that was mentioned thoroughly through both my blog and research paper, and although technically not a food per say, it is drinkable. "Aquifer Lemon Tea" just made sense, again linking the menu to a liquid, like water, and having something I researched in the name. "Osmosis Latte", another drink, related to desalination because it is one of main processes that desalination really uses, reverse osmosis. It being a latte, and a latte normally being very expensive, much like the plants themselves connected in a positive way. The "Sponge Cake" became a play on words for real sponges, which relates loosely and fits in with the rest of the types of drinks as a dessert to drink with. • 45. Truck Drivers Research Paper Some drivers of average sized–passenger cars become (understandably) nervous when driving in the same vicinity as an 18–wheeler. After all, the smaller vehicle would not likely come out on the winning end should there be a collision. The sheer size and weight of those large commercial trucks can create potentially hazardous conditions for the truck drivers and other motorists alike. Some of the more notable dangers are the extensive blind spots that surround the truck in relation to its size. These blind spots are called the no–zone areas. Any vehicle that moves into one of these zones essentially disappears from sight and cannot be seen by the truck driver whenever he changes lanes or makes a turn. Other drivers can improve their own safety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Just the same, it is not a wise idea to speed around the 18–wheeler to cut it off. This is not necessarily because the trucker cannot see you. Rather it is not safe because it is much more difficult for a vehicle that size to slow down quickly. If other drivers fail to give them enough room, it may lead to a serious rear end accident. A good general thought to follow is to leave at least one car length for every ten miles an hour that the driver of the smaller vehicle is traveling. In other words, drivers who are going 50 mph need to leave at least five car lengths of space. So remember not to pull in front of the semi truck and suddenly hit the brakes. The truck driver will need a lot more space to slow down than you will. Rear No–Zone Driving behind a truck in its rear no–zone may not seem like such a big deal. However, much like the front no–zone, it is dangerous largely because you cannot see around the truck. You cannot see what might be coming, which will affect your ability to make adjustments or slow down. Also, truck drivers are unable to know if someone is tailgating their trailer. • 49. Semi Truck Collision A high–speed collision with any vehicle can be devastating. However, a high–speed collision of a car with a semi truck often has a grim outcome for the motorist. The rear underride guards of semi trailers don't offer much in the way of a crumple zone for absorbing impact energy. Damaged or rusted guards offer virtually no protection at all. In addition, hitting one at an offset (with the front left or right side of your car) causes severe damage to the car and may demolish the area occupied by the driver or right front passenger. Finally, a high–speed collision with the side of a trailer, which lacks an underride guard, can shear off the top half of a car. How do these car/truck accidents happen? Trucks with Dirty Trailer Lights and Reflectors Without working lights or reflectors, the trailer of a semi truck at night is invisible. It's rare for a trucker to drive around with all of his trailer lights burnt out. On the other hand, lights and reflectors covered in dirt, mud, or salt are more common. Dirt covered lights and reflectors are just as hazardous as not having them at all. What appears to be an oncoming semi truck in the opposite lane could be a truck pulling into the lane from a side road to your right. The lights you see are the tractor's headlights in the opposite lane. What you don't see is the invisible trailer crossing your path in front of you. The truck is a blue 1974 Chevy C10, and the car is a red 1998 Chevy Cavalier. In my opinion my car is safer, but the truck is cooler. I will be contrasting the body styles, the safety features, and the technical differences. I will also be comparing the basic features. First of all, the body styles are completely different. Well, the truck has a blue body with a "body–on–frame" type of construction. It also has a two piece body, the cab and the bed. The car has a small, red, stream line body designed for aerodynamics. It has a "uni–body" design, meaning the body and the frame is one thing. "body–on–frame" means that the body sits on the frame and is removable. Secondly, the safety features on the car are vastly superior to the ones on the truck. The car has breaking points all over its body, so that in a wreck it will be damaged worse to soften the impact. The truck just has a rigid steel body designed to stay intact, while that's better for repairs, it's not better for injuries. My car also has airbags, anti–lock brakes, and a three point seat belt. The truck has a two point seatbelt also known as a lap belt. The car is remarkably safer. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Chevy Truck Essay Nick Wittrock Ms. DeGreef English IV 10 March 17 67–72 Chevy Trucks In this paper, I will be explaining most, if not all, of the differences between 1967–1972 Chevrolet pickup trucks. For example, the 1967 Chevy truck has no marker lights on both the front and rear quarter panels, which is one of the more noticeable changes from the 1967 to 1968 models. Does this affect you? I'll explain to you in my speech that the answer is "YES" to both questions. I have been working as a semi–truck driver for more than a decade. And all that time, since the day I got my commercial driver's license, till my final day as a truck driver, the major concern for truck drivers was the approaching day for transitioning from paper to electronic logbooks. <<< Logbook is where a driver daily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was actually presented as the main reason for introducing electronic logbooks. Now that sounds quite convincing and realistic. Don't you think so? The thing is – this is completely false information. Or you can call it "fake news media" as it is very common these days. The problem I found with this article is, that it had a lot of statements, but not a single fact or statistical number that would be from legitimate source and could be checked. I did a quick research on Google. Everything is online these days as you know. According to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – 75 to 80 percent of car–truck crashes are caused by car drivers. Of those 20 to 25 percent accidents caused by truck drivers, only less than 10 percent are caused because of fatigue. Accidents are actually mostly caused because of tire problems, or unfamiliar, new route for a truck ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 133. Flatbed Truck Case Study This is what I heard: In general things seems to be going well. One safety incident had occurred with taking the sides off a flatbed truck. Trace had concerns with the amount effort required to report the incident and develop an action plan. He was also concern with how the action plan could be implemented and the larger operational implications for utilizing the flatbed truck. Trace explained that a two–person lift doesn't seem feasible, since the panels are not the large and having two people lift them may cause additional issues/complications (e.g. you won't always have two people available to lift the rails). Redesign of the bed could be expensive and would require support to be permanently installed, which could cause access issues. The second CPS flatbed truck has a different rail system design with swing gates, but it causes access issues. Trace also mentioned concerns with the process for developing a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is what I felt: In general things seemed to be going well. The CPS team seems to be having a productive and successful year. The crew seemed in good spirts and felt like the season was going well. IAB is happy with the work CPS has completed and the relationship still appears strong. Trace is frustrated with level of effort require for incident reporting and seems to feel that HSE is being unreasonable in how they implement solutions. This should be an engineered truck rail system that appears to be design for a single person lift. Side rails only seemed to weigh about 30 lbs. Trace is typically one of our biggest advocates for safety, so his concern most likely have some validity. Trace mentioned that it isn't worth reporting if it is going to require this much effort and we can't find a reasonable solution. These types of comments concern me. We need to make sure we have buy in from the field on our safety program. This is what I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 137. The Food Truck I Visited The food truck I visited is called Froyo To Go in Washington D.C. It was a franchised food truck of Froyo To Go in Crystal city, Virginia. The franchisor Froyo To Go itself opened the store since the end of 2013 as its food truck ended its operation from May, 2012. Froyo To Go sells freshly made frozen yogurt with fresh fruit toppings, which were all made from natural and organic ingredients. The main idea for the owner of the food truck was to deliver the health concept to people. Each portion of frozen yogurt was sold for six dollars with two toppings on it. Various fresh fruits were included in the choices of toppings, such as kiwi, strawberry and banana. The biggest advantage of Froyo To Go, expressed by the owner, was the healthy and fresh toppings with the frozen yogurt for the image his product shows is healthier and thus more attractive to customers than others. The competition is rather low comparing with other food trucks in this area with rare similar products were sold around. Before having this food truck, the owner said that the food trucks he saw were all selling heavy meal such as spicy food from south America, fast food like hot dogs, burgers and kabobs. One of the biggest reasons why he chose and became one of the franchisee food truck of Froyo To Go was that the mobility gave him freedom to deliver his concept –offering healthy food, more pervasively. The healthy benefits were also listed outside of the truck telling and attracting people to purchase. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 141. Self-Driving Trucks Self–driving trucks have become a major scare for the trucking industry. Although uber's Advanced Technology Group is promoting the positives of the new technology, truck drivers are realizing that their jobs are not secure. Uber believes that self–driving trucks will majorly increase supply, demand, and the amount of trucking jobs. The work that humans provide during drives is not matchable. Truck drivers move axles, check brakes, check are hoses, and communicate with outside sources. The more computerized jobs become, the less necessity there will be for manual labor. Demand Relationship: This relates the prices to the quantity demanded. The article states, "If the self–driving trucks are used more efficiently, it would drive down the cost of freight, which would stimulate demand." This is an exceptional example of demand relationship in the it displays how lower prices would raise demand. Uber thinks the demand for freight will create a greater need for truck drivers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Uber, self–driving trucks will largely increase the amount of freight that can be sold. As a result of the supply growth, more jobs will be created. It is hard to see a correlation between self–driving trucks and a job surge for truck drivers. Market Equilibrium: This means that supply and demand are equal. It was predicted that the demand for more freight will rise and supply will grow in order to match the high demand. Many companies strive for market equilibrium, so it is obvious that the trucking industry would benefit greatly in goods and services. Movement Along the Demand Curve: This occurs when there is a change in both price and the quantity demanded. The article demonstrated that a decrease in the cost of freight would raise the demand for it. The relationship between a lower price and higher demand is displayed accurately in this article with the desire for more efficient self–driving ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 149. Tow Truck Research Paper A tow truck is a special emergency vehicle designed to tow or pull disabled vehicles out of the roadway to a safer location. It is also commonly used to confiscate illegally parked vehicles. Most tow trucks are based on a medium truck or heavy–duty pickup chassis. There are three main types of tow trucks in use today: hook and chain, axle cradling, and flatbed. The hook and chain is the oldest type of tow truck; it uses chains around the towed vehicle. The axle cradling type features a large metal yoke that is fitted under the front wheels; a hydraulic hoist then lifts the front end of the vehicle so it can be towed. The flatbed type of tow truck has a bed at the back of the truck that can be hydraulically moved to ground level. This then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 153. Weigh My Truck Research Paper Fleet owners, carriers and individual truckers are all governed by federal restrictions when it comes to the weight of vehicles that operate on the Interstate Highway System, which covers roughly 50,000 miles of limited access, divided highways that traverse the country. States also set their own commercial vehicle weight standards and limits. Currently, federal standards allow for 20,000 pounds on a single axle, 34,000 pounds on a tandem axle and 80,000 gross vehicle weight. Failure to comply with these limits results in fines and unnecessary delays. Heavy–duty and semi–truck technology helps keep drivers and carriers out of trouble and in compliance with the restrictions. CAT Scale Locators The only way to comply with federal weight restrictions for trucks is to weigh the vehicle to assure it's compliant. This is done via a certified CAT scale where the truck and trailer drive over a scale and the axle weight and total vehicle weight are calculated. Locating a CAT scale nearby is a simple matter with an app that can be downloaded and used from any smartphone. One app, called Weigh My Truck, provided by CAT Scale, provides information about official scale locations as well as the ability to weigh and pay without the driver having to leave the vehicle. It helps streamline the process and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These scales are easy to install and can be used on any type of tractor and trailer, either individually or in tandem.
