  1. 1. Click on Documents on the DesktopThis is where you should save everything. The Navigation bar at the top of the window shows you where you areYou are in Documents which is in the _________ (whatever your computer is named, it might be your own name)Where are your Documents?Customise your Finder Window<br />Click on the Organize button Go to LayoutMake sure that Menu Bar has a tick and that Details Pane and Navigation Pane is selected.<br /><ul><li>There are 2 places you can change the View Click on View in the menu bar.Or click on the Views button on the left hand side of your window Click on each one to see how it looks.Choose a View Option.Tidy up the viewIf there is no folder for the file to go in, then make a new folder by clicking on Organise then , name it and then drag the file on to it.Change your view to Small icons If there is file that can go in a folder, click and drag it on to the folderAs you move it a small dialogue box will show you what you are doing Tidy up your foldersCreate a New FolderClick on the Organise button Click on the New Folder A new folder will appear with the words New FolderDo not click, just type the name of the folder Any text that is highlighted can be overwritten. Resize both windows to fit on screen by clicking and dragging on the corners or edges. Place them side by side. Click and drag folders or files from one to the other. The originals will stay and copy to the new destination.Go to Desktop Double Click on Computer If it is not there, then click on the Start button, and select Computer.Double click on Removable DiskCopy files from a memory stick to My Documents or vice versa
