2. How are music
videos made?
When making a music video there are 3 stages -
 Pre-production -This should include researching and planning
the music video, which would involve decided locations, props,
actors etc. In order to have a successful final product, the pre-
production must be of high quality.
 Production -This is when some of the planning is put into action
by the music video being filmed.
 Post production -This is the stage where all the editing
happens, and all the scenes that have been filmed during
production are put together.

These music videos are popular for a number of reasons, including the fact that they
feature popular artist, so their fans would want to watch, as well as the directors fans.
They usually have quite a large budget therefore the quality will be high, making
people want to watch them.

 This budget will cover the entire pre-production, production and
post production costs, which includes concept development,
rehearsals, props, editing etc.
 Despite all the big budget music videos, some very successful
music videos were done very cheaply, such as Ed Sheeran's video

audiences
access music
videos?
 The two main ways in which audiences can access music
videos are throughYouTube and music channels,
although there are other, less popular alternative.
 YouTube allows viewers to access almost any music video
that they want at anytime. It's a great social media
platform for artists to connect with their fans through
their music. It's also extremely easy to upload to
YouTube, so new artists have the opportunity to try and
build a fan base usingYouTube.
 Another way that audiences can access music videos is
through music channels, such as MTV.These music
channels are available for everyone, but they have a
downside, which is the viewers can't select what music
video they get to see, it's the channel that chooses.The
music videos do vary depending on the channel and the
genre of music that they choose to represent.
