Career Summary
In a comprehensive Royal Australian Navy (RAN) career of over 12 years, I have been employed in the
Mine Warfare field where I have specialised in small arms weapons, mine warfare & explosive
procedures as a military instructor. During this time I have developed a very high standard of
professional & personal work ethos, these skills have been developed both as an operator as well as an
instructor. Additionally I am a qualified Submariner, who offers a unique understanding of complex
machinery & procedures. I have been employed with the operational Sea Training Group assessing
maritime units & operators prior to operational deployments. I am currently employed as the Chief
Bosuns Mate (CBM) at HMAS Waterhen at Port Services, managing movements, incompatible
operations and general safety around the base.

Sea Training Group – Operational Assessment
The Sea Training Group is the lead authority on assessing for all RAN units prior to deploying.
Responsibilities:
The assessing of units & operators within the Mine Warfare & Clearance Diving groups.
Deploying globally to support Operations & Training (often at short notices).
Develop & maintain a high skillset in order to accurately assess others.
Australian Submarine(s) – HMAS Collins; HMAS Dechaineux – Acoustic Warfare Analyst
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervision of junior sailors including monitoring task allocation, conflict
resolution, critical problem solving, quality assurance, staff safety, personnel administration,
training & mentoring, first point of contact for any issues (personal or professional).
Subject Matter Expert for Acoustic Warfare including general submarine duties.
Small Arms expert & familiar with explosives.
Royal Australian Navy Recruit School – Instructor
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the supervision & instruction of junior sailors & initial entry recruits including
but not limited to; task allocation, conflict resolution, problem solving, quality assurance, staff
safety, personnel administration, training & mentoring, first point of contact for any issues
(personal & professional).
Conducting routine Hazard Risk Assessments into daily Recruit School activities & events.
General administration & maintaining Defence Records Management Systems.
Perform the task of writing Military Message Signals.
