1. Commands onboard container vessels, overall responsible for the vessel.

4. Implementing Company Safety, Quality and Environmental Protection Policy.
5. Motivating officers and crew in the execution of the Company policy.
6. Issuing appropriate orders for the efficient safe operations of the vessel in a clear
and concise manner.
7. Reviewing the Safety Management System and reporting any deficiencies to shore
based management.
8. Monitoring the expiry dates of all Statutory Certificates and instigate any necessary
work, control and inspections for their renewal.
9. Ensuring the Safety Management System is being kept updated by liaising with the
DPA/ QEMR ( Marine Safety Department ) to arrange the necessary audits.
10. Appraising and coordinating onboard training requirements with the Fleet Personnel
Department.
11. Reviewing the vessel contingency plans and operational procedures and reporting
any deficiencies to the DPA/ QEMR.
12. Reporting any non-conformities, accidents, incidents and hazardous occurrences to
the management.
13. Ensuring all the documentations designated to be controlled is maintained and
issued as per the Company standing orders and procedures.
14. Requesting any assistance from the Company as may be deemed necessary to
ensure the safe and pollution free operation of the vessel.
15. Ensuring that all records relevant to the Safety Management System, and as defined
in company manuals for operational procedures, are maintained and available
continuously.
16. Implementing, monitoring and enhancing the Safety Health Environmental and
Quality system relating to the vessel in co-operation with the Company’s SMS.
17. Informing the relieving Master during change over about the operation of the vessel
to the extent necessary to maintain safe, efficient and pollution free operation of the
vessel.
18. The requisition and control of received spares, stores and services, while assisting
the Management with budgeting.
19. Carry out or delegate the duties of the Ship Security officer under the ISPS code as
described in the Ship Security Plan.
20. Control of safe cargo handing and stowage.
21. Controlling the vessel operations and care for the persons onboard.
22. Overriding authority and responsibility to make decisions in respect to the safety and
pollution prevention.
23. Responsible for the operations of the vessels as required by third parties,
classification societies, flag state and port state control.

1. Conduct and supervise cargo operations on various vessels sailing worldwide.
2. Responsible for vessels’ stability prior sailing and docking, vessel’s maintenance, life
