Pakistan that has been providing excellent services and
facilities to fulfill the information needs of its clients.

 Mission of library is to excel in supporting the

academic and scholarly endeavor of our users, in their
core
 The library aims to encourage and support the
academic and research activities of LUMS faculty, staff
and students.
Opening Hours
 Monday to Friday

8:30 am - 12:00 midnight
 Saturday
10:00 am - 10:00 pm
 Sunday
2:00 pm -10:00 pm
Some General Rules
 Submit any book or object for inspection, when






requested by the library staff.
After reading, leave books on the table or on the book
trolley. Please do not shelve the books.
Drinks and eatables are not allowed in the library.
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the library.
Keep your mobiles off within the library premises.
Lending Rules
 Presentation of a valid library card is a must for any

checkout at the circulation desk.
 Reference material, CD-ROMs, not-to-be-issued copy
of course reserve, annual reports, pamphlets, current
and bound periodicals, (industrial research) reports,
newspapers, and other non-circulating items cannot
be checked-out. These materials may only be
consulted within the library premises.
Lending Rules
 Library material borrowed by any member is subject to

recall if needed by the library.
 Any material not returned or renewed within 60 days
of the date due will be considered LOST.
Fines
 To encourage timely return of library materials and to

provide optimal sharing of the collections, fines are
charged for overdue items. Borrowers are responsible
for returning or renewing items by the due date. If
items are not returned within the due date, fines will
be charged from the first overdue day, at the following
rates.
 Overdue Books

Rs.10 per book per day.
 Lost Books
In case of loss or damage, the student will be charged
three times the current price of the item.

information needs of the teachers, the students and
the researchers.)
 Circulation.(Registers new members, issues
borrowers cards and renews membership cards.)

  • 6. Library of (LUMS) is the first automated library of Pakistan that has been providing excellent services and facilities to fulfill the information needs of its clients.

  • 9. Material collection  It has a collection of over 350,000 volumes.  The library has an extensive collection of over  200,000 printed  130,000 online books  35,000 journals,  , And 30,000 other materials including audios, videos, CD-ROMs, DVDs, etc.
  • 10. Aim & Mission of Library  Mission of library is to excel in supporting the academic and scholarly endeavor of our users, in their core  The library aims to encourage and support the academic and research activities of LUMS faculty, staff and students.
  • 11. Opening Hours  Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 12:00 midnight  Saturday 10:00 am - 10:00 pm  Sunday 2:00 pm -10:00 pm
  • 12. Some General Rules  Submit any book or object for inspection, when     requested by the library staff. After reading, leave books on the table or on the book trolley. Please do not shelve the books. Drinks and eatables are not allowed in the library. Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the library. Keep your mobiles off within the library premises.
  • 13. Lending Rules  Presentation of a valid library card is a must for any checkout at the circulation desk.  Reference material, CD-ROMs, not-to-be-issued copy of course reserve, annual reports, pamphlets, current and bound periodicals, (industrial research) reports, newspapers, and other non-circulating items cannot be checked-out. These materials may only be consulted within the library premises.
  • 14. Lending Rules  Library material borrowed by any member is subject to recall if needed by the library.  Any material not returned or renewed within 60 days of the date due will be considered LOST.
  • 15. Fines  To encourage timely return of library materials and to provide optimal sharing of the collections, fines are charged for overdue items. Borrowers are responsible for returning or renewing items by the due date. If items are not returned within the due date, fines will be charged from the first overdue day, at the following rates.
  • 16.  Overdue Books Rs.10 per book per day.  Lost Books In case of loss or damage, the student will be charged three times the current price of the item.

  • 25. Conclusion This is a multi-disciplinary library serving the faculty, students, researchers and staff of the university. It also offers external membership services for corporate organizations, institutions, individual executives and researchers with certain conditions. The library has a rich and diverse collection of materials, especially in terms of the breath and depth of coverage.
