BACKGROUND OF AIMST
• AIMST University was founded on 15 March 2001, is a private
university established by the Maju Institute of Educational
Development (MIED), the educational arm of the Malaysian Indian
Congress (MIC).
• All these were made possible through the Leadership of DATO' SERI
UTAMA DR. S. SAMY VELLU, CHANCELLOR AND
CHAIRMAN, AIMST UNIVERSITY
• Commencement of operations since 2002 registered and approved
by Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia.
• Main campus situated on 230 acres in a beautiful green garden-
campus near the foothill of the Jerai resort-mountain

The main administration building that houses the Chancellory, the Senate Office and the Great Hall an auditorium with a seating capacity of 2500. Below it is the sound proofed Experimental Theatre with its own sound system.
