17. FOOD & ORGANICS
RECYCLING
In June of the 2012 Season, the Phillies extended
the Red Goes Green program to include food and
organics composting. As Phillies and Aramark
kitchen staff members prepare for each game, all
food scraps are composted through the program.
The material is then hauled away from the ballpark
by Waste Management and delivered to the
Wilmington Organic Recycling Center where it is
turned into valued, re-useable product such as feed
for livestock, fertilizer or soil amendments.
