2. SMART Board Games
I went to a high school that was fortunate enough to have two SMART Boards.
I only used it one time, and we played a game very similar to the one
described in this lesson.
Teams of students work together to answer a series of interactive questions,
being rewarded for answering the most correct and responding the fastest.
This is a great way to get students in an interactive and engaging learning
environment that requires knowledge of the course content, whatever the
game may be covering.
I had the thought of using this sort of game as a review activity for an upcoming exam or large
project in my future classes.
3. Students will be posed a question
on the SMART Board relating to
the class.
Using multiple markers, students
will silently take turns
commenting on the question,
creating a concept map.
As students write responses,
other students will draw
connections and conclusions
and the discussion will ideally
spread into many directions
and all students will be
encouraged to participate.

4. Summary of Lesson Goals
Students are actively engaging in discussion
with their peers over course content.
SMART Board technology allows for easy
creation of student comments, which in turn
increases potential involvement.
The instructor can monitor the directions that
the discussion goes, and can comment as
well, providing some sense of scaffolding
when necessary.
