 Mastering of the instruments of knowledge
 Development of the faculties of memory,
imagination, problem-solving, and the ability
to think. It is ‘a process of discovery’.
 Application of what learners have learned or
known into practices
 Development of vocational-technical
education and work skills.
 Discovery of others
 Experience of shared purposes throughout life.
 knowledge and understanding of self and others.
 Appreciation of the diversity of the human
 Complete fulfillment of man, in all the
richness of his personality, as individual,
member of a family and a citizen.
 Learning to be human.
 Curriculum should reflect the basic cultural
values of the society.
 It should be an agent of transmission of the
highest vales
 Curriculum planning should be based on the
problems and needs of the pupils
 It should enable pupils to participate wholly
in the activities of the society is it should
develop responsible citizenship
 The subjects should be functional in relation
to adult living and be adapted to the level of
development of the child.
 Curriculum should develop respect for all
vocations and instil the value of dignity of
labour
 Curriculum should increase the ability of the
students to define and solve problems
 Curriculum should encourage pupils to
participate meaningfully in peaceful
resolution of conflicts and communicate their
ideas assertively.
 Skills and knowledge acquired should be
useful for social adjustment.
 Effective teaching method should enable the
child to realize class room skills in the
society.
 Emphasis should be given on social behaviour
outside class room
 Teaching techniques must use social forces to
develop social adjustment

Aims of education
