2. Grunge
Definition
A style of rock music characterized by a raucous guitar sound and lazy vocal delivery.
Grime/dirty
Features of the design
there is a use of bright colours used for the flowers but it is fading in the background of the watery scenery, is dull
but that makes the flowers more eye catching. The flowers are bright at first then it fades into the water and into the
sky . If you look closely you can see can see the word dark which shows the themes of grudge dirty and grimy.

3. Pop-art
Definition
Art based on modern popular culture and the mass media, especially as a critical or ironic comment on traditional fine
art values.
Features of the design
There is an explosion of colour and it is very eye catching. The outline is an woman. Using a black background
Bolden's the lady made out the swirls. Also the only features that we can see is the body, lips, forehead and hair.

4. Punk
Definition
A loud, fast-moving, and aggressive form of rock music, popular in the late 1970s.
Features of the design
The artist included their name on the art in bold black letters. It is in a formal font. The image is a tongue cut in three
individual pieces . We only see 4 white straight tooth's and a pin piercing the background.

5. Urban
Definition
Urban design involves the design of buildings, groups of buildings, spaces and landscapes, and the establishment of
frameworks and processes that facilitate successful development.
Features of the design
There is a grey background to emphasize Jesus and the shopping bags he is holding. There is a crown of thorns on
his head and the white things hanging off him must represent blood. In the shopping bags we can see presents and
also we can see a candy Cain which represents Christmas.

6. Cartoon
Definition
A simple drawing showing the features of its subjects in a humorously exaggerated way, especially a satirical one in a
newspaper or magazine.
Features of the design
The background is a rainbow. There is a lot of diamonds everywhere and on top of the rainbow and SpongeBob, is
happy and his dimples are red. He has big eyes and blue eye. In the image you can see that all SpongeBob's
features are emphasised. This image is very eye catching and we focus on SpongeBob and the background helps
SpongeBob stand out even more.

In the factual structure we see a grid system being used in this magazine style. The common theme with
factual magazines is having the titles above instead of anywhere else. Also every character that is on the
front of the magazine is looking at the reader which makes the audience feel connected with the
magazine more. Also some of the sub titles are talking about the character that is on the front cover.

9. Music
All of these music magazines have in common that they all say the name of the famous
artists that are on the font cover. The title are all in sand serif which makes it stand out
and makes the title look serious but the sub titles are in serif which shows the creative
element of music.

10. Adventure
The things that are in common with these magazine is that they are all very bright and eye catching. All of the things
on the cover are related to what the image on the cover is. The sceneries that are in each of the adventure
magazines are rare ones that people have not seen before also they are very beautiful . Also we can see that the sub
titles are that are in different bright colours or they blend with the sceneries

11. Fantasy
We see with the fantasy genre that the type face serif is used the reason why this is used is because fantasy has a
lot of design and detail in it. In all of these fantasy magazines there is a futuristic style used as well. The colour
theme that is used in all of these magazines are white and yellow the reason why they have used these clours is
because they stand out.

12. Graphic novels
The things that are in common in these graphic novels is that dark colours are used in these graphic magazines. The
common font Is serif the reason why this font type is used is because of how the graphic style is more art based so
this font would suit this nicely
