Welcome Students, Parents, and Guardians to School Year 2014-2015!
We are excited you are a part of the J.M. Guerrero Family and we look forward to
working with you and your child(ren) throughout the year. We are happy with the
way the school year has begun. This year we are excited about the new
air conditioners in our school cafeteria! We would like to extend our grat-
itude to those who have put in time and hard work into getting our cam-
pus ready for this school year– Thank you! The first few weeks have
gone by smoothly with the hard work of the faculty and staff, please help
us in thanking them for their hard work and dedication to ensuring your
child(ren) are safe. Please visit the main office if there are any questions
or concerns you may have.
As a reminder, students need to be on campus no later than 7:45 a.m.
Instruction begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Students dropped off after 8:00
a.m. will be considered late and will need to report to the main office for
a tardy slip. We ask for your assistance in ensuring that your child(ren)
are on time.
Pick-up time for students is no later than 2:30p.m.
School uniform’s are mandatory. Please ensure your child(ren) are in
proper school uniform: light blue top with navy blue or black bottoms.
Let’s work together to ensure your child is in compliance of being in
school uniform. Student Uniforms can be purchase at Royal Bic’s across
AK, please refrain from purchasing tops at Paul’s. Paul’s is not the offi-
cial vendor. We would hate for
parents to purchase incorrect uni-
forms.

Spirit Week
 Monday, Sept 8: Give a teacher
an apple
 Tuesday, Sept 9: Smarty Pants
(accessorize your uniform with sus-
penders, big glasses, long socks, calcu-
lators in pockets, etc.)
 Wednesday, Sept. 10:
Wacky Wednesday (using your uni-
form, come to school with a wacky
hairdo, inside out socks, different color
shoes or socks, etc.)
 Thursday, Sept. 11: Math
Fact Thursday ( students must an-
swer math fact problems from three
students in their grade level. A student
who collects three different strips in all
from three other students will be
counted as one point for their class)
 Friday, Sept. 12: Back to
School Dance "Dancing Stars"
3rd through 5th grade from 1:00
to 2:00 in the cafeteria. Students
must wear yellow to get in. $2.00
entrance fee.

2. Kinder News
If you have not received an
orientation packet, please see your
child’s kinder teacher.
Please practice the following skills
DAILY:
 Self-Identity (full name, birth date,
age, telephone number, address,
parents name)
 Body parts
 Numbers (counting and identifying)
 Shapes and colors
Please check your child’s homework
binder/folder daily.
Please continue to bring in your child’s
school supplies, if you have not yet
done so.
We appreciate any classroom dona-
tions, such as white copy paper, hand
sanitizer, baby wipes, Clorox wipes,
and/or facial tissue.
- JMGES Kinder Teachers
For each reusable bag your family uses, at any Payless
Supermarket store, a “bag point” will be added to a
school of your choice. The school that accumulates the
most “bag points” wins $5,000 for their school! Go
Green, Shop Payless, and Choose Juan M. Guerrero for
“bag points” to earn $5,000 for Our school!
When you bring in your reusable bags, DON’T FOR-
GET TO MENTION:

ASPIRE
Parents:
Thank you for showing interest in allow-
ing your children to attend the free tuto-
rial component of the ASPIRE program. Parent letters
informing you of your child’s tutoring schedule will be
sent home in the coming week. Please do not have
your child stay after school until you are properly in-
formed of their ASPIRE tutorial schedule. Please take
note that your child/children will need to be picked up
promptly by 4pm on their scheduled days.
Registration for paid component of ASPIRE, from 2 to
5pm, Mon.—Fri. for $100.00 per quarter is still open.
You may pick up registration forms in the office.
