Today the main US film studios are Sony-Columbia Founded in 1987 as Columbia Pictures Inc. And was renamed Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. in 1991. Recent movies made by this studio are: Eat Pray Love, Grown Ups, Salt and The Social Network. Sony picture classics include: The Illusionist, Tamara Drewe and Get Low. Warner Bros Founded in 1918 as Warner Bros west coast studios and changed in 1923 to Warner Bros pictures. Recent movies: The Dark Knight, Fools Gold and The Bucket List. Most viewed collections: Harry Potter, The Hangover, The Wizard of Oz, Sherlock Holmes and Sex and the city 2. TV programmes include: Friends, ER, The Mentalist and One Tree Hill. 20th Century Fox Founded in May 1935, (1935-05-31) by the joining of Fox Films and 20th Century Pictures, Inc. It is owned by Rupert Murdoch. Films by 20th Century Fox are: Home Alone, Avatar, Dr Dolittle, Alvin and the chipmunks and Die Hard. Some of the most famous actors who came out of 20th century fox are Shirley Temple, Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. TV Programmes include: Family Guy, Glee, Life on mars and Prison Break. Universal It was founded in 1912 by Carl Laemmle. Latest Films include: Devil, Little Fockers, Scott Pilgrim vs. the world, Despicable Me and Kick-Ass. TV Programmes include: House, Heroes and The Office. Pat films include: About A Boy, Fast and Furious, In Bruges and The Bone Collector. Disney Disney was founded on October 16, 1923 by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney and called it the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was then changed to Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Animated films include: Bolt, Dinosaur, Tarzan, The Fox and the hound, snow white and the seven dwarfs. Newest releases include: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, TRON:LEGACY and Tangled. TV programmes owned by Disney: Disney Channel, Disney XD, Playhouse Disney and Disney Cinemagic. DreamWorks DreamWorks was founded in 1994 by Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen. Older films include: Shark Tale, Madagascar, The Ring, Catch Me If You Can and Cast Away. Animated films include: Shrek 123&4, Kung Fu Panda, Monsters vs Aliens and Antz. MGM Founded in 1924 when Marcus Loew got control of other media companies. Films include: 24 Hour Party People, The Amityville Horror, Bulletproof Monk, Casino Royale, Hot Tub Time Machine and The Pink Panther. Upcoming films include: Jeepers Creepers 3 and The Hobbit. Paramount Paramount is currently owned by Viacom, it was founded in the early 1910s. Paramount currently has these films in cinemas: Megamind, Jackass, Case 39 and Grease sing-a-long. Other films include: Crocodile Dundee, The Golden Child, Star Trek, Ghost Town, Anchorman, Zoolander and Transformers. BBC films have made around 10 films a year and have produced: An Education, Billy Elliot and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Some Film 4 films include: Four Lions, The Lovely Bones, Slumdog Millionaire, Nowhere Boy and Looking For Eric. Films include: Chicken Run, Wallace and Gromit, Flushed Away and Shaun the Sheep. Future films include: Pirates and Arthur Christmas. ,[object Object],Sarah Radclyffe, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner created Working Title in 1983 it is currently owned by Bevan and Fellner. Films include: Definitely Maybe, Shaun of the Dead, Wild Child, Drop Dead Fred, Nanny McPhee and Atonement.
