Was founded in 1912 as Famous Players Film Company, and later changed to Paramount Pictures in 1914. Ranked as one of the largest film studios (top-grossing). Is a member of the Motion Picture Association of America. Has distributed many successful films such as Mean Girls, Star Trek and Paranormal Activity. Is a Viacom company. Revenue: $1.2 billion as of 2011. Operating income: $300 million as of 2011. Is the ‘parent’ to DreamWorks, which is also a very successful animation company who has produced immensely popular franchises such as Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. Paramount Pictures is distributing Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, which is set for release on October 25th 2013. Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa: Directed and written by Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville and Spike Jonze. Stars Johnny Knoxville and Jackson Nicoll. Produced by MTV films and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The plot is simply about an 86-year-old man, Irving Zisman, and his grandson Billy who are on a road trip across the United States, who have crazy antics and prank the public with their stunts. The plot see’s us monitor a week in the life of a young singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961.
