1. AUTOMATIC TOLLGATE
ABSTRACT:
Toll gate Automation and Vehicle Tracking is designed to
automaticallykeep track of
t h e veh icl e ’s mo vemen t , rec o rd t h e t ime
an d t h e d et ails l ike Own er’s n ame , d at e o f reg
istration, vehicle model etc.
This system is very useful for automatic vehicle tracking,
time management and also for automation of Toll gate.
This paper explains the implementation of Toll Gate
Automation which is a step towards improving
the Tracking and monitoring of vehicles,
travelling in predetermined routes.
In t h is syst em, a co mp u ter syst em
automatically identifies an approaching vehicle and
records the vehicle number and Time.
If the vehicle belongs to the authorised person $group,
it automaticallyopens the Toll Gate and a predetermined
amount is automaticallydeductedfrom its account.
3. WORKING PRINCIPLE:
When the vehicle is going to enter into the toll plaza, the first aim
is to detect the type & no. of the vehicle. For that purpose, it has to
first pass through the IR transmitter - receiver gate.
Then we have here the RFID system. In this system the tag is
detected by the RFID reader & the data is matched with the
database provided at every toll booth.
When further vehicle is going towards the Load cell plate it has to
pass through the IR transmitter - receiver gate.The RFID data is
stored on tags which respond to the reader by transforming the
energy of radio frequency queries from the reader (or transceiver),
and sending back the information they enclose.
A computer hosting a specific RFID application pilots the reader
and processes the data it sends. The ability of RFID to read objects
in motion and out of the line-of-sight is its major advantage. The
tags can be read under harsh conditions of temperature, chemicals
and high pressure.
ADVANTAGE:
Automatic toll collection system is rapidly becoming the most
popular way for commuters to pass through tolls on
highways, expressways, etc.
Gone are the days when people used to collect toll charges
sitting in booths.
4. The fact that drivers need not to carry any cash is one of the
main reasons why electronic toll system has become so
popular.
