Introduction
This paper is an article review of the scholarly article titled, "Justification of An Upgrade of An
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System – The Accountant's Role" written by Sylvia Dempsey,
Ruth Vance & Liam Sheehan. Ms. Dempsey is a lecturer in the Department of Accounting and
Information Systems at Cork Institute of Technology in Cork, Ireland. Ms. Ruth Vance is a lecturer
in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Cork Institute of Technology in Cork,
Ireland. Mr. Sheehan was a graduate student at Cork Institute of Technology in Cork, Ireland and did
his thesis on ERP. The article was published in the peer reviewed journal of the Global Journal of
Human Social Science Interdisciplinary in 2013 (Dempsey, Vance, & Sheehan, 2013). A summary of
the article will be provided as well as discussion of the paper 's and the textbook's views of the roles
of accounting and ERP upgrade.
