Engineered wooden flooring:-
Each engineered wood board consists of 4 or 5 real
wood,
Which are fixed together in a cross-ply construction.
It is more stable than a single piece of real wood.
Can withstand different temperature.
6. Laminate flooring:-
Laminate flooring makes perfect sense for
all applications.
Laminated flooring by its nature remains
cool in summer, warm in winter, easy to
clean, hygienic,quick to install and can be
walked on immediately after installation.
Fabricated Wood Block :-
These consist of small square of
rectangular block with tongue
and groove joints on all side.
8. Types of finishing
NATURAL PROCESS :-
IN THIS PROCESS NATURAL MATERIAL
ARE USED, LIKE SHELLACS, LACQUER,
VARNISHES.
OIL BASED :-
IT IS THE MOST COMMON TYPE OF
FINISHING USED GLOBALLY,DONE BY
NATURAL OILS.
POLYURETHANE:-
IT IS CONSIST OF MINERAL AND WAXES
AND DONE BY BRUSING ON THE FLOOR.
9. FLOOR SANDING
It is a method for smoothening
and refining the rough surface of
floor .
Auxiliary elememts with it are oils
and waxes for providing a finished
and smooth surface.
It is even helpful in renewing the
scratches and stains from the
desired areas by using coarser
sandpaper in initial stage.

15. Things to be remember before
installing
Before you install a new hardwood floor, plaster work must be
complete well.
The wooden floor is bound to flex in case of unevenness of surface.
Therefore, the floor must be leveled before placing the wooden
planks.
Disconnect and remove all electronic equipments including
televisions, stereos and computers. Remove all electrical wires
running under carpets and door cases.
The flooring pieces have to be trimmed at the end of almost every
row.
Similar cuts have to made at door frames. So, the blades of the saw
being used must be sharpened to avoid chipping of the floor.
16. Maintenance
Vacuuming, sweeping and damp mopping is done to maintain the
cleanliness and appearance of a wood floor.
Oil soaps does not used to clean the floors.
Manufacturer’s cleaning product is referred.
Excessive grit and foot traffic may effect floor appearance.
Properly finished and maintained wood floor does not accumulate
hidden soil or odorous compound.
