This is a theory course and is designed for anyone who in the course of their work could be called upon to move a load from one area to another using bodily force. It will provide the learner with the knowledge and skills required to carry out moving and handling of a load and be able to apply the principles in practice within their workplace. When referring to “load” the principles of the course cover inanimate objects. We would wholly recommend that this course is delivered in conjunction with the Moving & Handling Practical course. All personnel working within a Health or Social Care setting should have a sound knowledge of moving and handling.

Course Description:
This is a theory course and is designed for anyone who in the course of their work could be

Assessment:
The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment during the course
Certification:
On successful completion, the participants will receive an “Emergency First Aid at Work”
certificate of attendance recognised by the HSE. The accredited body requires photo ID to
complete this course.
