This document provides information about a practical moving and handling course for people working in health and social care. The 3-hour course involves learners practicing different techniques for moving and transferring people safely, including using chairs, beds, and various handling aids. Assessment of learners' skills occurs through group work, question and answer sessions, and ongoing observation of learners demonstrating techniques. Upon completion, learners will receive a certificate of attendance.

Course Description:
This is a practical course where all learners are expected to take part to ensure that all of the
theory can be put into practice.
This course is suitable for all workers within the health and social care sector. It is mapped to
the skills for care common inductions standards and is in line with the national occupational
standards for skills in health and social care. We would strongly recommend this course as
a must, following delivery of the theory element.

The learners will be expected to take part in group work as well as question and answer
