LASER Marking
It is achieved by moving a low-powered
beam slowly across the material using a
method called discoloration, which
creates high-contrast marks without
disrupting the material.
LASER heats the material, causing
oxidation under the surface and
turning the material black.
It applies low temperatures to metal
to anneal the surface.

Engraving
The LASER creates high heat during the
engraving process, which essentially
causes the material to vaporize.
It’s a quick process, as the material
is vaporized with each pulse.
This creates a cavity in the surface
that is noticeable to the eye and
touch.

Motion Control
A machine is assembled and Arduino
flashed with 'GRBL controller" is
used as motion controller of the
machine.
Testing
The completed machine is tested using
different techniques, i.e. speed testing,
perpendicularity testing and circular
testing. The possible error sources are
determined and fixed.
Budget
In this project, a small scale two axis
CNC LASER engraver machine is
designed and analyze under very
limited budget of (40,000 pkr).
Structure
The most suitable structure frame, the
open frame vertical type structure, is
chosen.
Features
Due to accuracy of the machine body parts and precise
assembling, the machine achieves the desired precision
and repeatability level. It is sufficient to create small
features such as letters and graphs with sizes less than
1cm.

Heavily rely on the design of motion
controller
The best possible solution is using
Raspberry Pi as the “PC” terminal of
the controller and using a
touchscreen as the interface user
can easily transfer machine code
file into the system using a USB
drive
Then stream of the machine code
into Arduino through another USB
port easily.

  • 16. LASER Marking It is achieved by moving a low-powered beam slowly across the material using a method called discoloration, which creates high-contrast marks without disrupting the material. LASER heats the material, causing oxidation under the surface and turning the material black. It applies low temperatures to metal to anneal the surface.   • 28. Motion Control A machine is assembled and Arduino flashed with 'GRBL controller" is used as motion controller of the machine. Testing The completed machine is tested using different techniques, i.e. speed testing, perpendicularity testing and circular testing. The possible error sources are determined and fixed. Budget In this project, a small scale two axis CNC LASER engraver machine is designed and analyze under very limited budget of (40,000 pkr). Structure The most suitable structure frame, the open frame vertical type structure, is chosen. Features Due to accuracy of the machine body parts and precise assembling, the machine achieves the desired precision and repeatability level.
