4. Theme or focus of images
The photographer I chose for landscape was Victoria Siemer, she is a graphic
designer but also specialises in photography. When looking at her photos the range
of colours she captures and how stunning the landscape is just completely blows my
mind. The Way she transforms a normal landscape photo and turns it into something
unique and amazing. The photographs were taken from around 2011-2014, the
photos show scenery of mountains/beaches/forests and was then given a edit in
Photoshop for example and a small section in the middle of the photo was copied
tuned upside down and then reflected to create the images shown above.
Composition
When it comes to the composition of the photos which Victoria Siemer has taken,
because these are landscape shots she wants to get what most best is looking in the
frame. She’ll focus and what she wants to shoot first playing around with the camera
setting etc then will finally move on to taking them and seeing which one comes out
best. Scanning through these pictures and wondering whether if she zoomed out or
stood further away what additional information would I see and I came to the
conclusion that if Victoria would have zoomed out or stood further away I think there
would be too much going on in the picture and wouldn’t be as effective as they are.
Techniques used

5. When it comes to shutter speed when these photos were taken, I think most of the
photos were taken with a kind of fast shutter speed this meaning allowing enough
light in to make the image come out crisp. If too much light was let in to the camera
the image could come out overexposed and blurry. Now onto rules of third, when this
technique is applied to the photographs I think the main points would be used on the
type of scenery for example one of the points on a tree. Finally onto depth of field,
the depth of field on this images I would think would be wide because of how much is
in the frame.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Moving onto things I like about Victoria’s work is that I just love the whole concept
and idea of it all and I’d love to try and somehow recreate it with building maybe or
something to do with the urban side of things. I also like the way it’s very unusual and
its not what most photographers do or would ever think of doing. Now talking about
the things I dislike and there isn’t many, I just think she could of widened her range
when it comes to these types of photos only because they all look very similar and it
would have been nice to see something different. Another small and not so drastic
would be the size of the photos because they are in some sort of square shape and I
like it would look a lot better with the shape of a rectangle.
