1. News story 2 script
Introduction: As the general election is drawing in this Thursday the 7th May, I
ask young locals in the area to find about what they know about voting, if they
will vote and what they want from this election.
Question 1: Have you registered to vote?, if not why?
Emily: Yes
Shauna: No, because I'm too young.
Question 2: How did you register to vote?
Emily: Online
Question 3: Do you know what parties are running?
Emily: The green party, Labour, Lib Dem
Shauna: Conservative,UKIP
Sarah: I don't know them by name, but I know there are a few different ones
Question 4: If the voting age was lowered in the last election, would you of
voted?
Emily: Probably not
Shauna: No because I don't think I knew much at the time
Sarah: It's hard to understand so no
Question 5: What do you think of Labour wanting to lower the voting age?
Emily: I don't think it is right, because at a young age you don't really take much
interest in whats going on
Shauna: I agree because I am only a month away from voting
Sarah: I don't agree with it because I don't think people would understan
Question 6: What do you want from this election?
Emily: A fair choice for everyone, to lower university tuition fees and to keep the
NHS.
Question 7: Which party would you like to win and why?
Emily: Labour, because they are in favor of keeping the NHS
Shauna: Labour because that's all i really know
Sarah: I'm not really sure because I don't know who is what
Outro: Well there it is, from the looks of it it looks like the younger generation
don't really have any general knowledge for politics or this years election. Could
