2. To construct my film trailer I used iMovie, this allowed me to edit the sound, lighting
and speed of the scene. For example, iMovie allowed to reduce the background
sound in many of my clips.
I used many different media technologies when constructing the front cover of my
film magazine. For example, I used Adobe Photoshop CS5.1, this allowed me to crop
my main image and change the contrast of my main image. I used fontmeme.com to
get my font, this allowed me to choose a font which specifically catered to my media
product.This is because fontmeme.com allowed me to look at fonts which had been
used by similar real media products.
I also used Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 when constructing a poster promoting my film
trailer. Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 enabled me to use filter to edit the background of
my poster. I used the brush stroke effect, artistic cut-out. I got my font from
fontmeme.com.
3. For my research I usedYouTube, this allowed me to watch and analyse the
conventions of real media products. I usedYouTube to watch the film trailers of
Mean Machine, Goal and The LongestYard.This helped develop ideas based on the
conventions used in real media products, yet this also allowed me to see where I
wanted to subvert the conventions of real media products.
During my research I used search engines such as Google Chrome and Internet
Explorer.This allowed to research and analyse comparable real media products.
This enabled me to research Total Film magazine, assisting me in the production of
my film magazine and I was also able to research a poster promoting Goal, this
helped in my production of my film poster.
This relates to the ideals of Bennett, Slater & Wall (2006) as they stated that all
media production “takes place in the light of other media production”. My research
allowed me view comparable real media products, and see the conventions and
forms of these real media products, this then enabled me to decide on the aspects
of these real media products which I wanted to use and the aspects of these real
media products that I wanted to subvert.
4. To help me plan my film trailer I used Microsoft Word 2010, I used Microsoft Word
2010 to create a shot list and screenplay.The shot list and screenplay provided me
with a clear story and plan to follow.This helped me then schedule dates for when I
wanted to achieve specific targets.
For the production of my ancillary texts I was able to use Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 to
experiment with the effects and brush strokes so that I could look at all of the
possible effects I could use.

After I had completed all of the tasks for my evaluation I uploaded them to
Wordpress, this is a blog which will allow others to view my work and provide me
with feedback.When discussing the different media technologies I used, I
produced a Microsoft PowerPoint, I then uploaded this to Slideshare.This made it
much easier for me to upload this PowerPoint document to Wordpress as I just had
to copy the link and post it on Wordpress allowing anyone to see it.
I then produced a Prezi Powerpoint when discussing the effectiveness of the
combination of y main task and ancillary texts.This allowed me to be more creative
when analysing my work.
