5. History Objectives
• The first documentary attestation of
Buzau is from 372, April 12, in a Papal
Document “ The Passion of Saint
Sava the Goth”, chased and drowned
in the waters of river Musaios (Buzeos
– Buzau). This document is kept in the
Vatican Library and also, in the San
Marco Library from Venice.
The economical wealth of
this region had determined
the building, in the 4th
century, of a Camp of the
Eastern Roman Empire.

the Thesaurus from
Pietroasa, the most eloquent
testimony of the civilization
reached by the inhabitants of
this part of the world.
•Was discovered in 1837 in
the ruins of a Roman castrum.

against the Turks, tartars and
others. The fortresses from
Bradu and Berca are proofs of
