Managed the largest technical and non-technical performance improvement
initiatives of Sprint’s University of Excellence Organizational Development area
bringing together large cross-departmental efforts of IT, HR, Marketing, Networks,
Customer Service, and other departments within Sprint.
   Established the large-scale program management policies and procedures for very large
    programs where they previously did not exist.
   Successfully assumed program management leadership of the National Customer
    Service Organization’s Installation and Repair Program when others previously had
    failed to nationalize the five regional sectors of Sprint’s Installation and Repair
    Organization.
   Oversaw the development an intense 11-week training camp for field technicians
    combining classroom, remote instructor led classes and web enabled solutions.
   Managed the development of an intense and thorough supervisor program addressing
    all aspects of management processes, technology, and field supervision.

Y2K Program Director                                                                    1998-2000
Directed Y2K code renovation efforts of hardware, software, database and network
for millions of lines of code across multiple platforms and applications.
   Completed the build of a new testing environment to be transitioned to production in
    2000 following Y2K compliancy.
   Revised project plans bringing renovations back on schedule after being assigned to this
    project which had fallen a year behind previously.
   Managed managers and Team leads responsible for Mainframe, UNIX, VAX-VMX,
    Tandem, NT, and PC desktop platforms.
   Assigned additional responsibility for additional applications which were also behind
    schedule and needing to be brought into a viable schedule and completed all new
    assignments on time.
   Managed groups and applications in multiple locations in the United States.
   Became the “go to” person for addressing how to handle new situations which came up
    for other groups performing the same duties.
   Successfully achieved Y2K Readiness prior to the June 30, 1999 deadline.
   Far exceeded the industry average of greater than $2.00 per line of code, as well as
    Sprint’s overall average of $1.52 per line, to achieve the lowest renovation cost per line
    of code at Sprint at $0.52 per line thus providing a realized savings of over $3.5 million.

Hired by Sprint to establish and manage, a ground up, high end application software
support department of employees and contractors managing personnel in Kansas
and California.

Manager IT End User Computing                                                          1992-1996
Managed 35 employees and contractors performing all help desk functions, installs,
moves, dispositions, administration and support of PC and Mac hardware, OS, and
software; Corporate Sun/Solaris applications; multiple company email systems;
network printing; user account management; and all user training. In general, support
for everything which directly affected the work of 10,000 Alcatel employees.
     Dramatically improved the average problem resolution time from 25% to 65% of
      problems solved within two working days through reorganizing department processes
      and roles, implementing an Automatic Call Distributor (ACD), implementing remote
      diagnostic software to support PC and Mac software installation and troubleshooting.
     Negotiated a $5 million dollar yearly cost reduction in software license agreements
      (over 30% savings).
     Managed the conversion of five different email systems to HP OpenMail and SMTP mail                                NOTES
      greatly reducing the existing email problems and outages.
