“Teaching as a Vocation”
I’ve been through, a lot of challenges in life. There were times that I was confused of
what job I will pursue until I decided to teach and I found out that teaching is my fashion
base on my two years in teaching I have concluded that myself is designed to become a
teacher and I could say that I was one of those who were called to be a teacher .And I
devote and commit myself in teaching. I will always make sure that my students are
learning at their best.
2. “Teaching as a Mission”
“Teaching is not just a job, it is more than a job, and it is a mission to fulfill” .For
two years in teaching I was task to teach varied subjects with varied learners. I faced
different responsibilities. And I’ll just take it all as an opportunity and a challenge.
Now, being a teacher I am motivated I had to be resourceful, competent, so as to
ensure that my students not only learned the expected competencies but were able to
acquire the necessary skills, values as knowledge that could prepare them in their
future careers. I will see to it that I did my job well and that is to “teach” to obtain
optimum learning.
“Teaching as a profession”
For now I could really say that teaching is my profession and I will always take it
as a great privilege. And to be more self- equipped with my profession I will never
hesitate to undergo process that would be helpful to my profession. In fact, I am
currently taking up my master’s degree for my professional development. Moreover, I
dedicate myself in teaching and I always aim for excellence and commit myself to moral
and religious values.

A. Educational philosophy – Perennialism
Aim of Education – to educate the rational person; to cultivate the intellect
Role of Education – teachers help students think with reason.
Based on the Socratic methods of oral exposition or recitation
Explicit or deliberate teaching of traditional of traditional value
Focus in the Curriculum – Classical subjects, literacy analysis and
curriculum is constant.
3. Curriculum Trends – Use of great books and return to liberal arts.
B. Educational Philosophy – Progressivism
Aim of Education – to promote democratic and social living.
Role of Education – knowledge leads to growth and development of
lifelong learners who actively learn by doing.
Focus in the Curriculum – subjects is interdisciplinary, integrative and
interactive. Curriculum is focused on student’s interest, human problems
and affairs.
Curriculum Trends – school reforms, relevant and contextualized
curriculum, humanistic education.
Formulate your own educational philosophy.
Idealism – it pursuit the high ideals to be more competent person.
Why teach? – Teacher would teach their learner idealistically on how to
acquire basic skills or the macro skills such as writing, reading, listening,
etc. On the other hand, by promoting intellectual growth of an individual.
What to teach? – This idealism emphasis on the academic content in a
way that the students can learn the basic skills or other fundamental r’s
like, reading, `riting, ‘rithmetic, right conduct.
How to teach? – Idealistic teacher can know or master her/his subject
matter. Teachers are expected to be a good model and to be an
intellectual to their students. So that the learner can gain mastery of basic
skills, they can develop or acquire more knowledge.
