2. my set task for my A2 media coursework was for me and my partner to film a documentary,
not just that but along with the documentary we had to construct a radio trailer, a double
page spread magazine , In order to market our documentary.
3. For the main product we decided to put together a body of work which would be the documentary
and we named it ‘Off the Record’ we felt that this name suited it the best because it made it obvious
that our documentary was going to be on the music industry and it was up to our audience to figure
out while watching our documentary to realize it was about Grime. The documentary is
approximately 5 minutes long and included interview with ‘Richie Banks’
4. For the radio trailer we took inspiration from Charlie Sloth his raw passion and
voice. Our radio presenter Jamie Redpath suited the part perfectly his voice and
passion was similar to Charlie’s and we felt that it was vital that we got him to
be on our radio trailer, because of him the radio advert turned out better than
we expected.
5. When creating the listing magazine we had intentions for it to look professional, after collecting a huge
range of different magazines and looking through them and researching codes and conventions it allowed
us to be cautious and aware of what exactly to at to make our listing magazine look presentable and
professional. We including a majority of the typical codes in our magazine and also we included exclusive
pics from the documentary so that the reader could get an insight of what's to come.
7. I believe that our whole project was very effective and successful the combination of our
radio advert, listing magazine, and documentary as they all compliment each other. I felt I
had an upper hand of putting together this project because when it comes to music it is a
passion of mine learning about different genres and listening to all sorts of music which is
on offer. I enjoy the arts of the industry, new artist new adlibs a new era of music is coming
and I am glad to be a part of the evolution.
8. Looking back on the journey of this project it was far from easy, there was ups
and downs in the process of filming, planning, and researching however
looking at the reaction we got and the feedback from the documentary I am
pleased to say that the hard work has paid off. Being a media student you are
a director, you are a designer, you are an artist and it has made me realize that
we are the media. Our thoughts, our ideas is what creates the true art in
society. Overall the project on a whole I am pleased, with because I believe me
and my partner worked extremely hard in order for our work to be what it is.
